< Hosea 14 >
1 ʻE ʻIsileli, tafoki kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua; he kuo ke tō ki lalo ʻi hoʻo hia.
O Israel, return to the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thy iniquity.
2 Toʻo kiate kimoutolu ʻae lea, pea tafoki kia Sihova: lea pehē kiate ia, “Toʻo atu ʻae hia kotoa pē, pea maʻu fakafiemālie ʻakimautolu: ko ia te mau ʻatu ai kiate koe ʻae ngaahi fua ʻo homau loungutu.
Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say to him, Take away all iniquity, and receive [us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3 ʻE ʻikai fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu ʻe ʻAsilia, ʻe ʻikai te mau heka ʻi he hoosi: pea ʻe ʻikai te mau toe pehē ki he ngāue ʻa homau nima, ‘Ko homau ʻotua ʻakimoutolu:’ he ʻoku ʻilo ʻe he tamai mate ʻae ʻaloʻofa ʻiate koe.”
Ashur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, [Ye are] our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4 “Te u fakamoʻui ʻenau fakaholomui, te u ʻofa mataʻataʻatā kiate kinautolu: he kuo afe meiate ia ʻa hoku houhau.
I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for my anger is turned away from him.
5 Te u hangē ko e hahau ki ʻIsileli: te ne tupu ʻo hangē ko e lile, pea totolo hono aka ʻo hangē ko Lepanoni.
I will be as the dew to Israel: he shall grow as the lily and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6 ʻE hoko ʻo lau lahi hono ngaahi vaʻa, pea ko hono lelei ʻe hangē ko e ʻakau ko e ʻolive, pea ko hono nanamu ʻe hangē ko Lepanoni.
His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7 Ko kinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he malu ʻo ia, te nau toe haʻu; te nau toe moʻui hangē ko e koane, pea tupu ʻo hangē ko e vaine: ko hono nanamu, ʻe hangē ko e uaine ʻo Lepanoni.
They that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive [as] the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent of it [shall be] as the wine of Lebanon.
8 ʻE pehē ʻe ʻIfalemi, Ko e hā te u toe kau ai mo e ngaahi tamapua? Kuo u fanongo, pea mamata kiate ia: ʻoku ou hangē ko e ʻakau mata ko e fea. ʻOku maʻu meiate au hoʻo fua.”
Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard [him], and observed him: I [am] like a green fir-tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9 Ko hai ʻae poto, pea te ne ʻilo ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni? ʻAe fakapotopoto, pea te ne ʻiloʻi ia? He ko e ngaahi hala ʻo Sihova ʻoku totonu, pea ʻe ʻaʻeva ai ʻae angatonu: ka ʻe hinga hifo ai ʻae kau talangataʻa.
Who [is] wise, and he shall understand these [things]? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD [are] right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall in them.
