1 Pea ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻi he ngaahi tamai eni, pea ko e tohi hokohoko eni ʻokinautolu naʻa mau ʻalu hake mo au mei Papilone, ʻi he pule ʻa ʻAtakisekisi ko e tuʻi.
Now, these, are their ancestral heads, and their genealogical register, —even of those who came up with me, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king, out of Babylon: —
2 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo Finiasi; ko Kesomi: ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻItama, ko Taniela: ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Tevita; ko Hatusi.
Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom, of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel, —of the sons of David, Hattush;
3 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo Sikania, ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Falosi, ko Sakalia: pea naʻe lau mo ia ʻi he hokohoko ʻoe kau tangata ko e toko teau ma nimangofulu.
Of the sons of Shecaniah, of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, —and, with him—by genealogical registry of males, a hundred and fifty:
4 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo Pehati-Moape; ko Ilionei ko e foha ʻo Selaia, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko uangeau.
Of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai, son of Zerahiah, —and, with him, two hundred males;
5 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo Sikania; ko e foha ʻo Saesieli, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko tolungeau.
Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah, the son of Jehaziel, —and, with him, three hundred males;
6 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻAtini foki; ko Epeti ko e foha ʻo Sioatani, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko nimangofulu.
And, of the sons of Adin, Ebed, son of Jonathan, —and, with him, fifty males;
7 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻIlami ko Sisaia ko e tama ʻo ʻAtalia, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko fitungofulu.
And, of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah, son of Athaliah, —and, with him, seventy males;
8 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Sifatia; ko Sepatia ko e foha ʻo Mikaeli, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko valungofulu.
And, of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah, son of Michael, —and, with him, eighty males;
9 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha ʻo Soape: ko ʻOpataia ko e foha ʻo Sehieli, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko uangeau ma hongofulu ma valu.
Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah, son of Jehiel, and, with him, two hundred and eighteen males;
10 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Silomiti ko e foha ʻo Sosifia, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko teau ma onongofulu.
And, of the sons of Bani, Shelomith, son of Josiphiah, —and, with him, a hundred and sixty males;
11 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Pepai, ko Sakalia ko e foha ʻo Pepai, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko uofulu ma toko valu.
And, of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, son of Bebai, and, with him, twenty-eight males;
12 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻAsikati; ko Sohanani ko e foha ʻo Hakatani, pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko teau ma hongofulu.
And, of the sons of Azgad, Johanan, son of Hakkatan, —and, with him, a hundred and ten males;
13 Pea ʻi he ngaahi foha ki mui ʻo ʻAtonikami, ʻaia ko honau hingoa eni, ko Ilifileti, ko Sieli, mo Simaia, pea naʻe ʻiate kinautolu ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko tolungofulu.
And, of the later sons of Adonikam, these being their names, Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, —and, with them, sixty males;
14 ‌ʻI he ngaahi foha foki ʻo Pikivai: ko Utei, mo Saputi, pea naʻe ʻiate kinaua ʻae kau tangata ʻe toko fitungofulu.
And, of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, —and, with him, seventy males.
15 Pea naʻaku fakakātoa fakataha ʻakinautolu ʻi he vaitafe ʻaia ʻoku tafe ki ʻAheva; pea naʻa mau nofo ai ʻi he ngaahi fale fehikitaki ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolu: pea ne u vakai ʻae kakai, mo e kau taulaʻeiki, pea ne u ʻilo naʻe ʻikai ha niʻihi ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Livai.
And I gathered them together, unto the river that cometh into Ahava, and we encamped there three days, —and I informed myself among the people and the priests, and, of the sons of Levi, found I none there.
16 Pea ne u fekau ke haʻu ʻa ʻEliesa, mo Elieli, mo Simaia, pea mo Elinatani, pea mo Salipe, pea mo Elinatani, pea mo Natani, pea mo Sakalia, pea mo Mesulami, ko e kau tangata tuʻukimuʻa; pea mo Soialipe, pea mo Elinatani, ko e kau tangata loto poto.
So I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men, —also for Joiarib and for Elnathan, teachers.
17 Pea ne u fekau ʻakinautolu ke ʻave ʻeku fekau kia Ito ko e ʻeiki ʻi he potu ko Kasifia, pea ne u tala kiate kinautolu ʻaia te nau lea ʻaki kia Ito, pea ki hono ngaahi kāinga ko e kakai Netenimi, ʻi he potu ko Kasifia, koeʻuhi ke nau ʻomi kiate kimautolu ʻae kau taulaʻeiki ki he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua.
And I sent them forth unto Iddo the chief, at the place Casiphia, —and I put into their mouth words, to speak unto Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, to bring unto us attendants for the house of our God.
So they brought unto us, according to the good hand of our God upon us, a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli, son of Levi, son of Israel, —and Sherebiah, and his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
19 Pea ko Hasapea, pea fakataha mo ia ʻa Sisaia ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo Melali, ko hono ngaahi kāinga mo honau ngaahi foha, ko e toko uofulu;
and Hashabiah, and, with him, Jeshaiah, of the sons of Merari, —his brethren and their sons, twenty;
20 Pea ʻoe kau Netenimi foki, ʻaia naʻe fakanofo ʻe Tevita mo e houʻeiki ki he ngāue ʻoe kau Livai, ko e Netenimi ʻe toko uangeau ma uofulu: naʻe lau ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻi honau hingoa.
and, of the Nethinim whom David and the rulers had given for the service of the Levites, Nethinim, two hundred and twenty, —all of them, expressed by name.
21 Pea ne u fanongonongo ʻae ʻaukai ʻi ai, ʻi he veʻe vaitafe ko ʻAheva, koeʻuhi ke mau tautea ʻakimautolu ʻi he ʻao ʻo homau ʻOtua, ke kumi ʻiate ia ʻae hala totonu kiate kimautolu, pea moʻo ʻemau fānau iiki, pea ki heʻemau meʻa kotoa pē.
Then proclaimed I there a fast, by the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, —to seek of him a smooth way, for us and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22 He naʻaku mā ʻo ʻikai faʻa kole ki he tuʻi ha kautau mo e kau tangata heka hoosi ke tokoni ʻakimautolu telia ʻae ngaahi fili ʻi he hala: koeʻuhi naʻa mau lea ki he tuʻi, ʻo pehē, Ko e nima ʻo homau ʻOtua ʻoku ʻiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku kumi kiate ia ke nau lelei ai; ka ko ʻene mālohi mo ʻene houhau ʻe tuʻu kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku liʻaki ia.
For I was ashamed to ask of the king, a band of soldiers and horsemen, to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God, is upon all who seek him, for good, But, his power and his anger, are against all who forsake him.
23 Ko ia naʻa mau ʻaukai ai pea kole ki homau ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko e meʻa ni pea naʻa ne talia lelei ʻakimautolu.
So we fasted and sought of our God, concerning this, —and he suffered himself to be entreated by us.
24 Pea ne u fili ʻae toko hongofulu ma toko ua ʻoe kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe kau taulaʻeiki, ko Selipea, mo Hasapea, mo hona kāinga ʻe toko hongofulu,
Then I separated, from among the rulers of the priests, twelve, —even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and, with them, from among their brethren, ten;
25 Pea naʻaku fakatatau ʻae siliva kiate kinautolu, mo e koula, mo e ngaahi ipu, ʻio, ʻae meʻa foaki ʻoe fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe ʻatu ʻe he tuʻi, mo ʻene kau fakakaukau, pea mo ʻIsileli kotoa pē naʻe ʻi ai:
and weighed unto them, the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —the heave-offering for the house of our God, which the king and his counselors and his rulers and all Israel who were present, had offered:
26 ‌ʻIo, naʻaku fakatatau ki honau nima ʻae taleniti siliva ʻe onongeau mo e nimangofulu, mo e ngaahi ipu siliva ko e taleniti ʻe teau, pea ʻi he koula ko e taleniti ʻe teau;
I even weighed unto their hand, of silver, six hundred and fifty talents, and, of utensils of silver, a hundred talents, —of gold, a hundred talents;
27 Mo e ipu luoluo koula foki ʻe uofulu, ʻoe talami ʻe taha afe: mo e ipu ʻe ua ʻoe kapa lelei, ʻo tatau mo e koula hono maʻongoʻonga.
and, bowls of gold, twenty, of a thousand drams, —and, utensils of fine bright bronze, two, precious as gold.
28 Pea ne u pehē kiate kinautolu, “ʻOku māʻoniʻoni ʻakimoutolu kia Sihova; ʻoku māʻoniʻoni mo e ngaahi ipu foki; pea ko e siliva mo e koula ko e meʻa ʻatu loto lelei pe ia kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻetau ngaahi tamai.
Then said I unto them, Ye, are hallowed unto Yahweh, and, the utensils, are hallowed, —and, the silver and the gold, are a freewill offering, unto Yahweh, God of your fathers:
29 Ko ia mou leʻohi, mo tauhi ia, kaeʻoua ke toe fakatatau ia ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kau taulaʻeiki lahi mo e kau Livai, mo e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe ngaahi mātuʻa ʻo ʻIsileli ʻi Selūsalema, ʻi he ngaahi potu fale ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova.”
Watch and guard, until ye weigh [them] before the rulers of the priests and the Levites and the ancestral rulers of Israel, in Jerusalem, —in the chambers of the house of Yahweh.
30 Pea naʻe pehē pe ʻae maʻu ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai hono mamafa ʻoe siliva, mo e koula, mo e ngaahi ipu ke ʻomi ia ki Selūsalema ki he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua.
So the priests and the Levites accepted the weight of the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —to bring to Jerusalem, unto the house of our God.
31 Pea naʻa mau toki hiki mei he vaitafe ʻo ʻAheva ʻi hono hongofulu ma ua ʻoe ʻaho ʻoe ʻuluaki māhina, ke ʻalu ki Selūsalema: pea naʻe ʻiate kimautolu ʻae nima ʻo homau ʻOtua, pea naʻa ne taukapoʻi ʻakimautolu mei he nima ʻoe fili, pea mo kinautolu naʻe toitoiʻi ʻakimautolu ʻi he hala.
Then brake we up from the river of Ahava, on the twelfth of the first month, to journey unto Jerusalem, —and, the hand of our God, was upon us, and he delivered us from the grasp of the enemy and of the lier in wait, by the way.
32 Pea naʻa mau hoko ki Selūsalema, pea nofo ki ai ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolu.
So we came to Jerusalem, —and we rested there, three days.
33 Pea ko eni ʻi hono fā ʻoe ʻaho naʻe fakatatau ai ʻae siliva, mo e koula, mo e ngaahi ipu, ʻi he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua ʻi he nima ʻo Milemoti ko e foha ʻo ʻUlia ko e taulaʻeiki: pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻa ʻEliesa ko e foha ʻo Finiasi; pea naʻe ʻiate kinaua ʻa Sosapati ko e foha ʻo Sesua, mo Noatia ko e foha ʻo Pinui, ko e kau Livai;
And, on the fourth day, was weighed—the silver and the gold and the utensils, in the house of our God, unto the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest, and, with him, was Eleazar son of Phinehas, —and, with them, were Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui, Levites:
34 Naʻe lau ʻae mamafa ʻoe meʻa taki taha kotoa pē: pea naʻe tohi hono mamafa kotoa pē ʻi he ʻaho ko ia.
by the number and by the weight of the whole, —and all the weight, was written down, at that time.
They who came in out of the captivity, Sons of the Exile, offered as ascending-sacrifices unto the God of Israel—bullocks twelve for all Israel, rams ninety-six, young sheep seventy-seven, he-goats for bearing sin, twelve, —the whole, as an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh.
36 Pea naʻa nau ʻatu ʻae ngaahi fekau ʻae tuʻi ki he kau talafekau ʻae tuʻi mo e kau pule fonua ʻi he kauvai ni ʻoe vaitafe: pea naʻa nau tokoni ki he kakai, mo e fale ʻoe ʻOtua.
Then delivered they the decrees of the king, unto the satraps of the king, and the pashas Beyond the River, —and they upheld the people and the house of God.
