< ʻIsikieli 4 >
1 Ko koe foki, “Foha ʻoe tangata, toʻo kiate koe ha makaʻumea, pea tuku ia ʻi ho ʻao, pea tohi ki ai ha fakatātā ki he kolo ko Selūsalema:
“But you, son of man, take a brick for yourself and place it before you. Then carve the city of Jerusalem on it.
2 Pea ke kāpui ʻaki ia ʻae tau, pea langa ha kolo ki ai, pea tanu puke ki ai, tuku foki ki ai ʻae nofoʻanga ʻoe tau, pea fokotuʻu takatakai ʻi ai ʻae meʻa teke ʻā.
Then lay siege against it, and build forts against it. Raise up an assault ramp against it and set camps around it. Place battering rams all around it.
3 Pea ke toʻo foki kiate koe ʻae ukamea lafalafa, pea fokotuʻu ia ko e ʻā ukamea ʻi homo vahaʻa mo e kolo: pea ke fakahanga ho mata ki ai, pea ʻe takatakai ia, pea ko koe te ke tauʻi ia. ʻE hoko eni ko e fakaʻilonga ki he fale ʻo ʻIsileli.
Then take for yourself an iron pan and use it as an iron wall between yourself and the city and set your face against it, for it will be under siege, and you are to put the siege against it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.
4 Ke ke tokoto foki ki ho potu fakatoʻohema pea hili ki ai ʻae hia ʻoe fale ʻo ʻIsileli! Pea ʻe tatau mo e lau ʻoe ʻaho ʻo hoʻo tokoto ki ai ʻa hoʻo fua ʻenau hia.
Then, lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel on it; you will carry their sin for the number of the days that you lie down against the house of Israel.
I myself am assigning to you one day to represent each year of their punishment: 390 days! In this way, you will carry the sin of the house of Israel.
6 Pea ka ʻosi hoʻo fai ia, ke ke toe tokoto ki ho potu fakatoʻomataʻu, pea te ke fua ʻae hia ʻae fale ʻo Siuta ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fāngofulu: pea kuo u tuʻutuʻuni ko e ʻaho ʻe taha ko e taʻu ia ʻe taha.
When you have completed these days, then lie down a second time on your right side, for you will carry the sin of the house of Judah for forty days. I am assigning to you one day for each year.
7 Ko ia te ke fakahanga ho mata ki he tauʻi ʻo Selūsalema, pea ʻe fakatelefua ho nima, pea te ke kikite ki ai.
Set your face toward Jerusalem that is under siege, and with your arm uncovered prophesy against it.
8 Pea vakai, te u ʻai ʻae haʻi kiate koe, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke fetafokiʻaki, kaeʻoua ke ke fakaʻosi ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ʻo ho taʻu.
For behold! I am placing bonds on you so you will not turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.
9 “Toʻo foki kiate koe ʻae sito mo e paʻale, mo e piini, mo e leniteli, mo e mileti, pea mo e fitisi, pea ai fakataha ia ki he ipu, mo ke ngaohi mā mei ai, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia te ke tokoto fakatafa ai, te ke kai ia ʻi he ʻaho ʻe tolungeau ma hivangofulu.
Take for yourself wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them in a single container and make bread for yourself according to the number of the days that you will lie upon your side. For 390 days you will eat it.
10 Pea te ke kai fakatautau pe hoʻo meʻakai, ko e mamafa ʻoe sikeli ʻe uofulu ki he ʻaho ʻe taha: pea te ke kai vahevahe pe ia.
The food you will eat will be by weight, twenty shekels per day, and you will eat it at set times each day.
11 ʻE fua foki hoʻo vai ki he inu, ko e vahe ono ʻoe hini ʻe taha: pea te ke inu vahevahe pe ia.
Then you will drink water, measured out to a sixth of a hin, and you will drink it at set times.
12 Pea te ke kai ia ʻo hangē ko ha foʻi mā paʻale, pea te ke taʻo ʻaki ia ʻae meʻa kovi ʻae tangata, ʻi honau ʻao.”
You will eat it as barley cakes, but you will bake it on excrement of human dung within their sight!”
13 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE pehē ʻae kai ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻenau mā fakalielia ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi Senitaile, ʻaia te u kapusi ʻakinautolu ki ai.”
For Yahweh says, “This means that the bread that the people of Israel will eat will be unclean, there among the nations where I will banish them.”
14 Pea naʻaku toki pehē ai, “ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua, vakai kuo teʻeki ai fakaʻuliʻi hoku laumālie; he kuo talu ʻeku kei siʻi ʻo aʻu ki heni ʻoku teʻeki te u kai ʻi ha meʻa ʻoku mate mahaki, pe ha meʻa kuo haehae; pea ʻoku teʻeki ai hoko ki hoku ngutu ha meʻakai fakalielia.”
But I said, “Alas, Lord Yahweh! I have never been unclean! I have never eaten either anything that died or anything killed by animals, from my youth until now, and foul meat has never entered my mouth!”
15 Pea naʻe toki pehē mai ʻe ia kiate au, “Vakai, ʻe tuku ʻae meʻa kovi ʻae tangata ka te ke teuteu ʻaki hoʻo mā ʻae teʻe pulu.”
So he said to me, “Look! I have given you cow manure instead of human dung so you can prepare your bread over that.”
16 Pea naʻa ne pehē foki kiate au, “Foha ʻoe tangata, vakai te u maumauʻi ʻae tokotoko ʻoe mā ʻi Selūsalema; pea te nau kai mā fakatautau pe, pea ʻi he mamahi: pea te nau inu ʻi he vai kuo fuofua, ʻi he lilika:
He also said to me, “Son of man! Behold! I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread while rationing it in anxiety and drink water while rationing it in trembling.
17 Koeʻuhi te nau masiva ʻi he mā mo e vai pea te nau fesiofaki ʻi he manavahē, ʻonau fakaʻaʻau ki mui ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau angahala.”
Because they will lack bread and water, every man will be dismayed at his brother and waste away because of their iniquity.”
