1 Naʻe toe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,

The word of Jehovah came again to me, saying:

2 “Foha ʻoe tangata, kikite, pea ke pehē, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Tangi kalanga, ʻOiauē, ʻoiauē ʻae ʻaho!

Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Howl ye, Alas! alas for the day!

For the day is near, the day of Jehovah is near! A day of clouds, the time of the nations is come.

The sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be destroyed.

5 “Pea ʻe hinga fakataha mo kinautolu ʻi he heletā ʻa ʻItiopea, mo Lipea, mo Litea, pea mo e kakai muli kehekehe, mo Kupa, mo e kakai ʻoe fonua ʻoku nau kau taha.”

Ethiopia, and Lybia, and Lydia, and all her auxiliaries, and Chub, and the men of every country that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

6 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova; “ʻE hinga foki ʻakinautolu ʻoku tokoni ki ʻIsipite; pea ʻe fakatōkilalo ʻae fielahi ʻo ʻene mālohi: te nau tō ʻi he heletā ʻi ai ʻo fai mai mei he fale leʻo māʻolunga ʻo Saiini, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.

Thus saith Jehovah: They that uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her power shall come down; from Migdol to Syene shall they fall in her by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah.

7 Pea te nau lala, ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi fonua ʻoku lala, pea ko hono ngaahi kolo ʻe ʻi he lotolotonga ia ʻoe ngaahi kolo kuo fakaʻauha.

And they shall be laid waste in the midst of the lands that are laid waste, and her cities shall be amongst the cities that are desolate.

8 Pea te nau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova, ʻo kau ka tutu ʻae afi ʻi ʻIsipite, pea ʻoka fakaʻauha ʻa hono kau tokoni kotoa pē.

And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have brought a fire into Egypt, and all her helpers shall be destroyed.

In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships, to make the confident Ethiopians afraid; and anguish shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt; for behold, it cometh!

10 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Te u fakaʻosi ʻa hono tokolahi ʻo ʻIsipite ʻe he nima ʻo Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon.

He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to make the land desolate; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

12 Pea te u fakamōmoa ʻae ngaahi vai, pea te u fakatau atu ʻae fonua ki he nima ʻoe angakovi: pea te u ngaohi ke lala, ʻae fonua, mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai, ʻi he nima ʻoe kau muli: ko au Sihova, kuo u lea ki ai.”

And I will make the rivers dry, and I will sell the land into the hand of evil men; and I will lay waste the land and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers; I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

13 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Te u fakaʻauha foki ʻae ngaahi tamapua, pea te u fakaʻosi meia Nofe ʻae ngaahi fakatātā; pea ʻe ʻikai toe ai ha tuʻi ʻoe fonua ko ʻIsipite: pea te u ʻai ha manavahē ki he fonua ko ʻIsipite.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will destroy the idols, and cause the images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt; and I will bring fear upon the land of Egypt:

14 Pea te u ngaohi ke lala ʻa Patalosi, pea te u fakatupu ʻae afi ʻi Soani, pea te u fai ʻae tautea ʻi Nō.

And I will lay waste Pathros, and bring a fire upon Zoan, and execute judgments upon No.

15 Pea te u lilingi hoku houhau ki Pelusiumi ko e mālohi ʻo ʻIsipite; pea te u motuhi ʻae tokolahi ʻi Nō.

And I will pour out my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt, and I will cut off the multitude of No.

16 Pea te u tuku ʻae afi ʻi ʻIsipite: ʻe mamahi lahi ʻa Pelusiumi, pea ʻe hae ua ʻa No, pea ʻe mamahiʻia ʻa Nofe ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.

And I will bring a fire upon Egypt; Sin shall tremble, and No shall be broken through, and Noph shall be plundered by day.

17 ‌ʻE tō hifo ʻi he heletā ʻae kau talavou ʻo ʻAveni, pea mo Pupasite: pea ʻe ʻalu ʻae ongo kolo ko ia ki he pōpula.

The young men of On and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword, and the women shall go into captivity.

18 ‌ʻE fakapoʻuliʻi foki ʻae ʻaho ʻi Tafanisi, ʻo kau ka maumauʻi ʻi ai ʻae haʻamonga ʻo ʻIsipite: pea ʻe ngata meiate ia ʻae fielahi ʻo ʻene mālohi: pea koeʻuhi ko ia ʻe ʻufiʻufi ia ʻaki ʻae ʻao, pea ʻe ʻalu ki he pōpula ʻa ʻene fānau fefine.

At Tahpanhes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yoke of Egypt, and the pride of her strength shall cease within her. A cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 ‌ʻE pehē pe ʻa ʻeku fai ʻae fakamalaʻia ki ʻIsipite: pea te nau ʻilo ko Sihova au.”

Thus will I execute judgments upon Egypt; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

20 Pea ʻi heʻene hoko ki hono hongofulu ma taha ʻoe taʻu, ʻi he ʻuluaki māhina, pea mo hono fitu ʻoe ʻaho ʻi he māhina, naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,

Now it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:

21 “Foha ʻoe tangata, kuo u fesiʻi ʻae nima ʻo Felo ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite; pea vakai, ʻe ʻikai nonoʻo ia ke fakamoʻui, pea ʻe ʻikai lafosi ia ke toe mālohi ke puke ha heletā.

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and lo, it is not bound up, so as to have medicines applied to it; a bandage is not applied to it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

22 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai, ʻoku ma fai mo Felo ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite, pea te u fesiʻi hono nima, ʻaia ʻoku mālohi, pea mo ia kuo mafesi; pea te u fakahomo ʻae heletā mei hono nima.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt; and I will break his arms, both the strong one, and that which was broken, and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

23 Pea te u fakamovete ʻae kakai ʻIsipite ki he ngaahi puleʻanga, pea te u fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ki he ngaahi fonua.

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries.

24 Pea te u fakamālohi ʻae nima ʻoe tuʻi ʻo Papilone, pea te u ʻai ʻeku heletā ki hono nima: ka te u fesiʻi ʻae nima ʻo Felo, pea te ne toʻe ʻi hono ʻao ʻo hangē ko e toʻe ʻo ha tangata kuo lavea ke mate.

But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and will put my sword into his hand, and break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

25 Ka te u fakamālohi ʻae nima ʻoe tuʻi ʻo Papilone, pea ʻe tō hifo ki lalo ʻae nima ʻo Felo; pea te nau ʻilo ko Sihova au, ʻo kau ka ʻai ʻeku heletā ki he nima ʻoe tuʻi ʻo Papilone, pea te ne mafao atu ia ki he fonua ko ʻIsipite.

Yea, I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.

26 Pea te u fakamovete ʻae kakai ʻIsipite ki he ngaahi puleʻanga, pea fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ki he ngaahi fonua; pea te nau ʻilo ko Sihova au.”

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries, and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
