< ʻIsikieli 23 >

1 Naʻe toe hoko foki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
The worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
2 “Foha ʻoe tangata, naʻe ʻi ai ʻae fefine ʻe toko ua ko e fānau ʻae faʻē pe taha:
Sonne of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother.
3 Pea naʻa na fai angahala ʻi ʻIsipite; naʻa na fai angahala ʻi heʻena kei siʻi: pea naʻe fakangalemu ʻi ai honau huhu; pea fakavolu ʻi ai ʻae mataʻi huhu ʻo ʻenau kei tāupoʻou.
And they committed fornication in Egypt, they committed fornication in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teates of their virginitie.
4 Pea ko hona hingoa ko ʻAhola ko e taʻokete, pea mo ʻAholipa ko e tehina: pea naʻe ʻaʻaku ʻakinaua, pea naʻa na fanauʻi ʻae fānau tangata mo e fānau fefine. Pea ko hono ʻuhinga ʻo hona hingoa, ko ʻAhola ko Samēlia ia, pea ko ʻAholipa ko Selūsalema ia.
And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sonnes and daughters: thus were their names. Samaria is Aholah, and Ierusalem Aholibah.
5 Pea naʻe fai angahala ʻa ʻAhola lolotonga naʻe ʻaʻaku pe ia; pea naʻa ne ʻofa nanivi ki heʻene kau mamana ko hono kaunga nofoʻanga ko e kau ʻAsilia,
And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine, and she was set on fire with her louers, to wit, with the Assyrians her neighbours,
6 ‌ʻAkinautolu naʻe kofuʻaki ʻae kofu paʻuhiʻuhi, ʻae kau ʻeikitau mo e kau pule, ko e kau toulekeleka mo talavou ʻakinautolu kotoa pē, ko e kau heka hoosi ʻoku faʻa heka ai.
Which were clothed with blewe silke, both captaines and princes: they were all pleasant yong men, and horsemen riding vpon horses.
Thus she committed her whoredome with them, euen with all them that were the chosen men of Asshur, and with all on whome she doted, and defiled her selfe with all their idoles.
8 Pea naʻe ʻikai ke tuku ʻe ia ʻae fai angahala mei ʻIsipite: he naʻa nau takoto mo ia ʻi heʻene kei siʻi, naʻa nau fāʻufua ʻae huhu ʻo ʻene kei tāupoʻou, ʻonau lilingi kiate ia ʻenau feʻauaki.
Neither left she her fornications, learned of the Egyptians: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginitie, and powred their whoredome vpon her.
9 Ko ia kuo u tuku ai ia ki he nima ʻo ʻene kau mamana, ki he nima ʻoe kau ʻAsila, ʻaia naʻa ne ʻofa nanivi ki ai.
Wherefore I deliuered her into the hands of her louers, euen into the hands of the Assyrians, vpon whome she doted.
10 Ko kinautolu eni, naʻa nau fakahā ʻene telefua, pea naʻa nau toʻo ʻene fānau tangata mo ʻene fānau fefine, mo tāmateʻi ia ʻaki ʻae heletā: pea naʻa ne hoko ʻo ongoongoa ia ʻi he kakai fefine; ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fai ʻae fakamaau kiate ia.
These discouered her shame: they tooke away her sonnes and her daughters, and slewe her with the sworde, and she had an euill name among women: for they had executed iudgement vpon her.
11 Pea ʻi he mamata ki ai ʻa hono tehina ko ʻAholipa, naʻa ne hoko ʻo fakalielia lahi hake ia ʻi heʻene holi kovi pea lahi hake ʻae fai feʻauaki ʻaʻana ʻi he feʻauaki ʻa hono taʻokete.
And when her sister Aholibah sawe this, she marred her selfe with inordinate loue, more then she, and with her fornications more then her sister with her fornications.
12 Naʻa ne ʻofa nanivi ki he kau ʻAsilia, ko hono kaunga nofoʻanga, ʻae ngaahi ʻeikitau mo e kau pule naʻe kofu fakaʻeiʻeiki, ʻae kau tangata naʻe heka hoosi, ko e kau talavou toulekeleka kotoa pē ʻakinautolu.
She doted vpon the Assyrians her neighbours, both captaines and princes clothed with diuers sutes, horsemen ryding vpon horses: they were all pleasant yong men.
13 Pea naʻaku toki mamata kuo fakalieliaʻi ia, pea naʻa na tatau pe ʻi heʻena anga;
Then I sawe that she was defiled, and that they were both after one sort,
14 Pea naʻe tupu pe ʻa ʻene fai angahala: he naʻa ne sio leva ki he fakatātā tangata naʻe tohi ʻi he holisi fale, ʻae fakatātā ki he kau Kalitia naʻe tohi ʻaki ʻae enga kulokula,
And that she encreased her fornications: for when she sawe men painted vpon the wall, the images of the Caldeans painted with vermelon,
15 Kuo nonoʻo ʻaki ʻae noʻo ʻa honau kongaloto, pea lahi ʻae teunga pulepule ʻi honau ʻulu, ʻo matamata ʻeiki kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko e anga ʻae kau Papilone ʻi Kalitia, ko e fonua naʻa nau fānau ʻi ai:
And girded with girdles vpon their loynes, and with dyed attyre vpon their heads (looking all like princes after the maner of the Babylonians in Caldea, the land of their natiuitie)
16 Pea ʻi heʻene mamata leva ki ai ʻaki hono mata, naʻa ne manako ki ai, ʻo ne fekau ʻae kau talafekau kiate kinautolu ki Kalitia.
Assoone, I say, as she sawe them, she doted vpon them, and sent messengers vnto them into Caldea.
17 Pea naʻe haʻu ʻae kau Papilone kiate ia ki hono mohenga, ʻonau fakalielia ia ʻi heʻenau fai angahala, pea naʻe fakalielia ia ʻiate kinautolu, pea naʻe tafoki hono loto meiate kinautolu.
Nowe when the Babylonians came to her into the bed of loue, they defiled her with their fornication, and she was polluted with them, and her lust departed from them.
So she discouered her fornication, and disclosed her shame: then mine heart forsooke her, like as mine heart had forsaken her sister.
19 Ka naʻa ne fakalahi pe ʻene feʻauaki, ʻi heʻene fakamanatu ki he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo ʻene kei siʻi, ʻaia naʻa ne fai fakaangahala ai ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
Yet she encreased her whoredome more, and called to remembrance ye dayes of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
20 He naʻa ne ʻofa nanivi ki heʻenau ʻofa, ʻakinautolu ʻoku tatau honau kakano mo e kakano ʻoe ʻasi, pea tatau ʻae meʻa ʻoku haʻu mei ai mo ia ʻoku haʻu mei ha hoosi.”
For she doted vpon their seruants whose members are as the members of asses, and whose yssue is like the yssue of horses.
21 Naʻe pehē ʻa hoʻo manatuʻi ʻae fai fakalielia ʻa hoʻo kei siʻi, ʻi he fāʻufua ʻe he kau ʻIsipite ʻae mataʻi huhu ʻo hoʻo kei finemui.
Thou calledst to remembrance the wickednes of thy youth, when thy teates were bruised by ye Egyptians: therefore ye paps of thy youth are thus.
22 “Ko ia, ʻE ʻAholipa, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai, te u langaʻi hake ho kau mamana ke tuʻu kiate koe, ʻakinautolu kuo tafoki ho loto mei ai, pea te u fakaʻefi koe ʻiate kinautolu mei he potu kotoa pē,
Therefore, O Aholibah, thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, I will raise vp thy louers against thee, from whome thine heart is departed, and I will bring them against thee on euery side,
23 ‌ʻAe kau Papilone, mo e kau Kalitia kotoa pē, ʻa Pikote, mo Soa, mo Koa, fakataha mo e kau ʻAsilia kotoa pē: ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ko e kau talavou toulekeleka, ʻae ngaahi ʻeikitau mo e kau pule, ʻae houʻeiki lahi mo ongoongo, ʻoku heka hoosi kotoa pē ʻakinautolu.
To wit, the Babylonians, and all the Caldeans, Peked, and Shoah, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: they were all pleasant yong men, captaines and princes: all they were valiant and renoumed, riding vpon horses.
Euen these shall come against thee with charets, waggons, and wheeles, and with a multitude of people, which shall set against thee, buckler and shield, and helmet round about: and I will leaue the punishment vnto them, and they shall iudge thee according to their iudgements.
25 Pea ʻe ʻi ai hoku fuaʻa kiate koe, pea te nau fai fakamanavahē kiate koe: te nau motuhi ho ihu, pea mo ho telinga; pea ʻe mate ho toenga kakai ʻi he heletā: te nau ʻave hoʻo ngaahi tama mo hoʻo ngaahi taʻahine; pea ʻe fakaʻauha mālie ʻaki ʻae afi ʻa hono toe.
And I wil lay mine indignation vpon thee, and they shall deale cruelly with thee: they shall cut off thy nose and thine eares, and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall cary away thy sonnes and thy daughters, and thy residue shall be deuoured by the fire.
26 Te nau toʻo foki ho ngaahi kofu meiate koe, mo ʻave hoʻo ngaahi teunga lelei.
They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fayre iewels.
27 ‌ʻE pehē ʻa ʻeku ngaohi ke tuku ʻa hoʻo fai fakalielia, mo hoʻo feʻauaki naʻe haʻu mo koe mei ʻIsipite: ko ia ʻe ʻikai toe sio ho mata kiate kinautolu, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke toe manatu ki ʻIsipite.”
Thus wil I make thy wickednes to cease from thee and thy fornication out of the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift vp thine eyes vnto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Vakai te u tukuange koe ki he nima ʻonautolu ʻoku ke fehiʻa ki ai, ki he nima ʻonautolu kuo tafoki mei ai ho loto:
For thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I wil deliuer thee into the hand of them, whome thou hatest: euen into the hands of them from whome thine heart is departed.
29 Pea te nau ngaohi koe ʻi he fehiʻa lahi, pea te nau ʻave ʻae fua kotoa pē ʻa hoʻo ngāue, pea te nau tuku koe ke ke telefua mo masiva: pea ʻe fakatelefuaʻi ʻa hoʻo fai angahala, ʻio, ʻa hoʻo fakalielia mo hoʻo feʻauaki kotoa pē.
And they shall handle thee despitefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leaue thee naked and bare, and the shame of thy fornications shalbe discouered, both thy wickednes, and thy whoredome.
30 Pea te u fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kiate koe, koeʻuhi kuo ke holi ke angahala mo e hiteni, pea koeʻuhi kuo ke fakalielia ʻaki koe ʻa honau ngaahi tamapua.
I wil doe these things vnto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idoles.
31 Kuo ke ʻeveʻeva koe ʻi he hala ʻo ho tokoua; ko ia te u ʻange ai ki ho nima ʻa ʻene ipu ʻaʻana.”
Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister: therefore wil I giue her cup into thine hand.
32 “ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; ‘Te ke inu ke loloto mo lahi mei he ipu ʻa ho tokoua: ʻe kata manuki ʻaki koe, pea ʻe luma ʻaki koe; ʻoku lahi ʻae meʻa ʻoku ʻi ai.
Thus saith ye Lord God, Thou shalt drinke of thy sisters cup, deepe and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorne and had in derision, because it containeth much.
33 “Te ke fonu koe ʻi he kona mo e mamahi, ʻi he ipu ʻoe fakaofo mo e fakaʻauha, ʻae ipu ʻa ho tokoua ko Samēlia.
Thou shalt be filled with drunkennes and sorow, euen with the cup of destruction, and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34 ‌ʻIo, te ke inu ia mo mimisi ia ke maha, pea te ke maumau ia, mo motuhi ʻaki ia ho huhu pe ʻoʻou:’ ko au Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ‘kuo u lea ki ai.’
Thou shalt euen drinke it, and wring it out to the dregges, and thou shalt breake the sheards thereof, and teare thine owne breasts: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.
35 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Koeʻuhi kuo ke fakangaloʻi au, mo ke lī atu au ki ho tuʻa, ko ia ia te ke fua ai ʻa hoʻo fakalielia mo hoʻo ngaahi feʻauaki.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behinde thy backe, therefore thou shalt also beare thy wickednes and thy whoredome.
36 Naʻe pehē foki ʻe Sihova kiate au; “Foha ʻoe tangata, ʻe ʻikai te ke fakamaauʻi ʻa ʻAhola mo ʻAholipa? ʻIo, fakahā ki ai ʻena fai fakalielia;
The Lord sayd moreouer vnto me, Sonne of man, wilt thou iudge Aholah and Aholibah? and wilt thou declare to them their abominations?
37 Kuo na fai ʻae tono tangata, pea ʻoku pani toto ʻa hona nima, pea kuo na fai angahala mo hona ngaahi tamapua, pea kuo na puleʻi ʻae fānau tangata naʻa na fanauʻi kiate au, ke ʻalu atu ʻi he afi ke nau ʻauha.
For they haue played the whores, and blood is in their hands, and with their idoles haue they committed adulterie, and haue also caused their sonnes, whome they bare vnto me, to passe by the fire to be their meate.
38 Kaeʻumaʻā ko au ia kuo na fai ki ai ʻae meʻa ni: kuo na fakaʻuliʻi hoku fale tapu ʻi he ʻaho pe taha, mo na maumauʻi hoku ngaahi ʻaho tapu.
Moreouer, thus haue they done vnto me: they haue defiled my Sanctuarie in the same day, and haue prophaned my Sabbaths.
39 He naʻe hili ʻae tāmate ʻenau fānau ki hona ngaahi tamapua, pea na omi foki ʻi he ʻaho pe ko ia ki hoku fale tapu ke fakalieliaʻi ia; pea, vakai, kuo pehē pe ʻena fai ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo hoku fale ʻoʻoku.
For when they had slaine their children to their idoles, they came the same day into my Sanctuarie to defile it: and loe, thus haue they done in the middes of mine house.
40 Pea mo eni foki, naʻa ke ʻave ha fekau ki he kau tangata mei he mamaʻo, ʻaia ne ʻalu ki ai ʻae fekau; pea vakai, naʻa nau haʻu: ʻakinautolu naʻa ke kaukau ai koe, mo ke vali ho mata, mo ke teuteu ʻaki koe ʻae ngaahi teunga;
And howe much more is it that they sent for men to come from farre vnto whom a messenger was sent, and loe, they came? for whome thou diddest wash thy selfe, and paintedst thine eyes, and deckedst thee with ornaments,
41 Pea ke nofo ki he nofoʻanga fakaʻeiʻeiki, mo e palepale naʻe teuteu ʻi hono ʻao, ʻaia naʻa ke ai ki ai ʻa ʻeku meʻa namu kakala mo ʻeku lolo ʻaʻaku.
And satest vpon a costly bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oyle.
And a voyce of a multitude being at ease, was with her: and with the men to make the company great were brought men of Saba from the wildernes, which put bracelets vpon their hands, and beautifull crownes vpon their heads.
43 Pea u toki pehē ai kiate ia naʻe motuʻa pe mo e fai angahala, He te nau fai angahala eni mo ia, pea fai ʻe ia mo kinautolu?
Then I sayd vnto her, that was olde in adulteries, Now shall she and her fornications come to an end.
44 Ka naʻa nau hū atu kiate ia ʻo hangē ko e ʻalu ki ha fefine feʻauaki: naʻe pehē ʻenau ʻalu atu kia ʻAhola mo ʻAholipa ʻae ongo fefine fakalielia.
And they went in vnto her as they goe to a common harlot: so went they to Aholah and Aholibah the wicked women.
45 Pea ʻe fakamaau ʻakinaua ʻe he kakai māʻoniʻoni ʻo taau mo ia kuo tono tangata, pea tatau mo e fefine kuo lilingi toto; he ko e ongo tono tangata ʻakinaua, pea ʻoku ʻi hona nima ʻae toto.”
And ye righteous men they shall iudge them, after the maner of harlots, and after the maner of murtherers: for they are harlots, and blood is in their hands.
46 He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua: “Te u ʻomi ha kakai kiate kinaua, pea te u tukuange ʻakinaua ke fetukutukuʻi mo maumauʻi.
Wherefore thus sayth the Lord God, I will bring a multitude vpon them, and will giue them vnto the tumult, and to the spoyle,
47 Pea ʻe lisingi ʻaki ʻakinaua ʻae maka ʻe he kakai, pe tui ʻaki ʻenau heletā; te nau tāmateʻi ʻena fānau tangata mo ʻena fānau fefine, pea tutu ʻaki ʻae afi ʻa honau fale.
And the multitude shall stone them with stones, and cut them with their swordes: they shall slay their sonnes, and their daughters, and burne vp their houses with fire.
48 ‌ʻE pehē ʻa ʻeku fakangata ʻae fai fakalielia mei he fonua, koeʻuhi ke ako ʻaki ia ki he kau fefine kotoa pē, ke ʻoua naʻa fai ʻo hangē ko hoʻo mo fakalielia.
Thus will I cause wickednesse to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to doe after your wickednesse.
49 Pea te nau totongi kiate kimoua ʻa hoʻomo fakalielia, pea te mo fua ʻekimoua ʻae hia ʻa hoʻomo tauhi tamapua; pea te mo ʻilo ko au ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua.”
And they shall laye your wickednesse vpon you, and ye shall beare the sinnes of your idoles, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord God.
