ʻEfesō 6

1 ‌ʻAe fānau, mou talangofua ki hoʻomou mātuʻa ʻi he ʻEiki: he ʻoku totonu eni.

Children, obey your parents in [the] Lord, for this is just.

2 “Fakaʻapaʻapa ki hoʻo tamai mo hoʻo faʻē;” ko e ʻuluaki fekau ia ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae talaʻofa;

Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,

3 “Koeʻuhi ke lelei kiate koe, pea koeʻuhi ke ke moʻui fuoloa ai ʻi he fonua.”

that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth.

4 Pea ko kimoutolu, ʻae ngaahi tamai, ʻoua naʻa mou fakatupu lili ki hoʻomou fānau: kae tauhi ʻakinautolu ʻi he akonaki mo e fakapoto ki he ʻEiki.

And [ye] fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in [the] discipline and admonition of [the] Lord.

5 ‌ʻAe kau tamaioʻeiki, mou talangofua ki homou ngaahi ʻeiki fakamaama, ʻi he manavahē mo e tetetete, ʻi he fakamoʻomoʻoni ʻo homou loto, ʻo hangē [ko e fai ]kia Kalaisi;

Bondmen, obey masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ;

6 ‌ʻIkai ʻi he ngāue fakamamata pē, ʻo hangē ko e kau fakamālie ki he tangata; kae taau mo e kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa Kalaisi, ʻo fai ʻae finangalo ʻoe ʻOtua mei he loto;

not with eye-service as men-pleasers; but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from [the] soul,

7 ‌ʻO fai loto lelei pe ʻae ngāue, ki he ʻEiki, kae ʻikai ki he tangata:

serving with good will as to the Lord, and not to men;

8 Pea ʻilo ko e ngāue lelei ko ia ʻe taki taha fai ʻe he tangata, ko ia ia te ne maʻu mei he ʻEiki, pe ko ha pōpula [ia ]pe ko e tauʻatāina.

knowing that whatever good each shall do, this he shall receive of [the] Lord, whether bond or free.

9 Pea ko kimoutolu, ʻae ngaahi ʻeiki, ke mou fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa pehē kiate kinautolu, ʻo tuku ʻa e [faʻa ]tautea: he ʻoku mou ʻilo ʻoku ai homou ʻEiki ʻi he langi; pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻiate ia ha filifilimānako.

And, masters, do the same things towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that both their and your Master is in heaven, and there is no acceptance of persons with him.

10 Ngata, ʻe hoku kāinga, mou mālohi ʻi he ʻEiki, pea ʻi he lahi ʻo ʻene māfimafi.

For the rest, brethren, be strong in [the] Lord, and in the might of his strength.

11 ‌ʻAi kiate kimoutolu ʻae mahafutau kotoa ʻoe ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke mou faʻa tuʻu hake ki he ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni kākā ʻae tēvolo.

Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil:

12 He ʻoku ʻikai ko ʻetau fangatua mo e kakano mo e toto, ka ki he ngaahi pule, mo e ngaahi mālohi, mo e kau pule ʻoe fakapoʻuli ʻoe māmani, mo e kau laumālie kovi ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻi ʻolunga. (aiōn g165)

because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual [power] of wickedness in the heavenlies. (aiōn g165)

13 Ko ia ke toʻo ʻae mahafutau kotoa ʻoe ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke mou faʻa tuʻu ai ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe kovi, pea hili hono ikuʻi kotoa pē, kae tuʻu pe.

For this reason take [to you] the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand.

14 Ko ia ke mou tuʻu kuo nonoʻo ʻaki ʻae moʻoni ʻae konga loto, pea ʻai ki he fatafata ʻae sifa ko e māʻoniʻoni;

Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 Pea mou topuvaʻe ʻaki ʻae teuteu ʻoe ongoongolelei ʻoe melino;

and shod your feet with [the] preparation of the glad tidings of peace:

16 Ai kituʻa ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē ʻae pā ʻoe tui, ʻaia te mou faʻa tāmate ʻaki ʻae ngaahi ngahau vela kotoa pē ʻoe tokotaha kovi.

besides all [these], having taken the shield of faith with which ye will be able to quench all the inflamed darts of the wicked one.

17 Pea ʻai mo e tatā ʻoe fakamoʻui, mo e heletā ʻoe Laumālie, ʻaia ko e folofola ʻae ʻOtua:

Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word;

18 ‌ʻO lotu maʻuaipē ʻi he ngaahi lotu kotoa pē mo e lotu tāumaʻu ʻi he Laumālie, pea leʻo ki ai ʻi he faʻa fakakukafi, mo e hūfia ʻae kāinga māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē;

praying at all seasons, with all prayer and supplication in [the] Spirit, and watching unto this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;

19 Pea koeʻuhi ko au, ke foaki ʻae lea kiate au, koeʻuhi ke u mafaʻa mālohi pe hoku ngutu, ke u fakaʻilo atu ʻae meʻa fakalilolilo ʻoe ongoongolelei,

and for me in order that utterance may be given to me in [the] opening of my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the glad tidings,

20 ‌ʻAia kuo haʻisia ai au ko hono faifekau: koeʻuhi ke u lea mālohi ai au, ʻo taau mo e lea ʻoku totonu.

for which I am an ambassador [bound] with a chain, that I may be bold in it as I ought to speak.

21 Ka koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ʻae meʻa ʻoku kau kiate au, mo ia ʻoku ou fai, ko Tikiko, ko e kāinga ʻofeina mo e faifekau angatonu ʻi he ʻEiki, ʻe fakaʻilo ʻe ia ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kiate kimoutolu:

But in order that ye also may know what concerns me, how I am getting on, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in [the] Lord, shall make all things known to you;

22 ‌ʻAia kuo u fekau atu ai ia kiate kimoutolu ʻi he meʻa ni, koeʻuhi ke mou ʻilo ʻemau nofo ni, pea koeʻuhi ke ne fakafiemālie ki homou loto.

whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.

23 Ke ʻi he ngaahi kāinga ʻae melino, mo e ʻofa, mo e tui, mei he ʻOtua ko e Tamai pea mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.

Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Ke ʻiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻofa moʻoni ki hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi ʻae ʻaloʻofa. ʻEmeni.

Grace with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption.
