< Teutalonome 31 >
1 Pea naʻe ʻalu ʻa Mōsese ʻo ne lea ʻaki ʻae ngaahi lea ni ki ʻIsileli kotoa pē.
And Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel.
2 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “Ko e taʻu eni ʻe teau mo e taʻu ʻe uofulu ʻo hoku motuʻa he ʻaho ni; ʻoku ʻikai te u kei faʻa ʻalu kituaʻā mo haʻu ki lotoʻā: pea kuo pehē foki ʻe Sihova kiate au, ʻE ʻikai te ke ʻalu koe ki he kauvai ʻe taha ʻo Sioatani.
He said to them, "I am one hundred twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: and YHWH has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.'
3 Ko Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ʻe ʻalu ia ʻo muʻomuʻa ʻiate koe, pea ʻe fakaʻauha ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga ni mei ho ʻao, pea te ke maʻu ʻakinautolu: pea ko Siosiua, ʻe ʻalu ia ʻo muʻomuʻa ʻiate koe, ʻo hangē ko e folofola ʻa Sihova.
YHWH your God, he will go over before you; he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua shall go over before you, as YHWH has spoken.
4 Pea ʻe fai ʻe Sihova kiate kinautolu ʻo hangē ko ʻene fai kia Sihoni pea kia Oki, ko e ongo tuʻi ʻae kau ʻAmoli, pea ki hona fonua, ʻaia naʻa ne fakaʻauha.
YHWH will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land; whom he destroyed.
5 Pea ʻe tukuange ʻakinautolu ʻe Sihova ʻi homou ʻao, koeʻuhi ke mou fai kiate kinautolu ʻo fakatatau ki he ngaahi fekau ʻaia kuo u fekau ni kiate kimoutolu.
YHWH will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.
6 Ke ke mālohi koe pea ke lototoʻa, ʻoua naʻa ke lilika, pea ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē kiate kinautolu: he ko Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ko ia ia ʻoku mo ō mo koe; ʻe ʻikai te ne fakatukutukuʻi koe, pe liʻaki koe.”
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be scared of them: for YHWH your God is he who is going with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you."
7 Pea naʻe ui ʻe Mōsese kia Siosiua, ʻo ne pehē kiate ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻIsileli kotoa pē, “Ke ke mālohi koe pea ke lototoʻa: he ko koe te ke ʻalu mo e kakai ni ki he fonua ʻaia naʻe fuakava ai ʻe Sihova ki heʻenau ngaahi tamai ke foaki, kiate kinautolu; pea te ke fakahoko ʻakinautolu ki ai kenau maʻu ia.
Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which YHWH has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.
8 Pea ko Sihova, ko ia ia ʻoku ʻalu muʻomuʻa ʻiate koe; ʻe ʻiate koe ia, ʻe ʻikai te ne fakatukutukuʻi koe, pe liʻaki koe; ʻoua naʻa ke manavahē, pea ʻoua naʻa ke puputuʻu.”
YHWH, he it is who does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: do not be afraid, neither be dismayed."
9 Pea naʻe tohi ʻe Mōsese ʻae fono ni, pea ne ʻatu ia ki he kau taulaʻeiki ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Livai, ʻaia naʻe haʻamo ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava ʻa Sihova, pea ki he kau mātuʻa kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli.
Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of YHWH, and to all the elders of Israel.
10 Pea naʻe fekau ʻe Mōsese kiate kinautolu, ʻo pehē, “ʻI he ngataʻanga ʻo hono fitu taʻu kotoa pē, pea ʻi he kātoanga ʻoe taʻu ʻoe tukuange, ʻi he kātoanga ʻoe ngaahi fale fehikitaki,
Moses commanded them, saying, "At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tents,
11 ʻI he hoko mai ʻa ʻIsileli kotoa pē ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ki he potu ʻaia te ne fili, ke ke lau ʻae fono ni ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻIsileli kotoa pē kenau ongoʻi.
when all Israel has come to appear before YHWH your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
12 Fakakātoa fakataha ʻae kakai, ʻae tangata, mo e fefine, mo e fānau, mo e muli ʻoku nofo ʻi ho ngaahi matapā, koeʻuhi kenau fanongo, pea kenau ʻilo, pea manavahē kia Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, pea tokanga ke fai ʻae ngaahi lea kotoa pē ʻoe fono ni:
Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear YHWH your God, and observe to do all the words of this law;
13 Pea ko ʻenau fānau, ʻaia ʻoku teʻeki hoko ʻo ʻilo ha meʻa, kenau ongoʻi, pea ʻilo ke manavahē kia Sihova ko homou ʻOtua, ʻi he lolotonga ʻoku mou moʻui ʻi he fonua ʻaia ʻoku mou ʻalu ki ai ʻi he kauvai ʻe taha ʻo Sioatani ke maʻu ia.”
and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear YHWH your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it."
14 Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kia Mōsese, “Vakai, ʻoku ʻunuʻunu mai ʻa ho ngaahi ʻaho te ke mate ai: ui kia Siosiua, pea fakahā ʻakimoua ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai, koeʻuhi ke u tuku ha fekau kiate ia.” Pea naʻe ʻalu ʻa Mōsese mo Siosiua, ʻo na fakahā ʻakinaua ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai.”
YHWH said to Moses, "Look, your days approach that you must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him." Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.
15 Pea naʻe fakahā ʻa Sihova ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻi he pou ʻoe ʻao: pea naʻe tuʻu ʻae pou ʻoe ʻao ʻi ʻolunga ʻi he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki.
YHWH appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the Tent.
YHWH said to Moses, "Look, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
17 Pea ʻe tupu ai ʻeku houhau kiate kinautolu ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, pea te u liʻaki ʻakinautolu, pea te u fufū hoku fofonga meiate kinautolu, pea ʻe fakaʻosiʻosi ʻakinautolu, pea ʻe hoko ʻae ngaahi kovi lahi mo e ngaahi mamahi lahi kiate kinautolu; ko ia tenau lea ai ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻIkai kuo hoko ʻae ngaahi kovi ni kiate kitautolu, koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻikai ʻiate kitautolu ʻa hotau ʻOtua?
Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, 'Haven't these evils come on us because our God is not among us?'
18 Pea ko e moʻoni teu fufū hoku fofonga ʻi he ʻaho ko ia mei he ngaahi kovi kotoa pē ʻaia kuo ʻosi ʻenau fai, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau tafoki ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe.
I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have worked, in that they are turned to other gods.
19 Pea ko eni, mo tohi ʻae hiva ni maʻamoutolu pea ako ʻaki ia ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli: ʻai ia ki honau ngutu, koeʻuhi ke hoko ʻae hiva ni ko e fakamoʻoni kiate au, ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
"Now therefore write the words of this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
20 Koeʻuhi ʻi he hili ʻeku ʻomi ʻakinautolu ki he fonua ʻaia naʻaku fuakava ai ki heʻenau ngaahi tamai, ʻaia ʻoku mahutāfea ʻi he huʻahuhu mo e honi; pea hili ʻenau kai ʻo fakamākona ʻakinautolu, pea [nau ]hoko ʻo sino; tenau toki tafoki ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe, ʻo tauhi ʻakinautolu, fakahouhauʻi au, pea liʻaki ʻeku fuakava.
For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.
21 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi he hoko ʻae ngaahi kovi lahi mo e mamahi lahi kiate kinautolu, ʻe fakaʻilo ʻenau kovi ʻe he hiva ni ʻo hangē ha fakamoʻoni; koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai ngalo ia mei he ngutu ʻo honau hako: he ʻoku ou ʻilo ʻenau mahalohalo ni ʻaia ʻoku nau feʻaluʻalu fano ʻo fai ni, ʻi he teʻeki ai te u ʻomi ʻakinautolu ki he fonua ʻaia naʻaku fuakava ki ai.”
It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore."
22 Ko ia naʻe tohi ai ʻe Mōsese ʻae hiva ni ʻi he ʻaho pe ko ia, ʻo ne akoʻi ia ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, "Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you."
24 Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi he fakaʻosi ʻe Mōsese ʻae tohi ʻoe ngaahi lea ʻoe fono ni ki he tohi, ʻo aʻu atu ki hono kakato,
It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law on a scroll, until they were finished,
25 “Naʻe fekau ʻe Mōsese ki he kau Livai, ʻaia naʻe haʻamo ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava ʻa Sihova, ʻo pehē,
that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of YHWH, saying,
26 “ʻAve ʻae tohi ni ʻoe fono, pea ʻai ia ki he kaokao ʻoe puha ʻae fuakava ʻa Sihova ko homou ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke ʻi ai ia ko e meʻa fakamoʻoni kiate koe.
"Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of YHWH your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.
27 He ʻoku ou ʻilo hoʻo talangataʻa, mo hoʻo kia kekeva: Vakai, ʻi heʻeku kei moʻui mo kimoutolu he ʻaho ni, kuo mou fai talangataʻa kia Sihova; kae muʻa hake ʻo kau ka mate!
For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: look, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against God; and how much more after my death?
28 “Fakakātoa mai kiate au ʻae kau mātuʻa kotoa pē ʻo homou ngaahi faʻahinga, mo homou kau matāpule, koeʻuhi ke u lea ʻaki ʻae ngaahi lea ni ʻi honau telinga, pea ui ki langi mo māmani ke fakamoʻoni kiate kinautolu.
Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your elders and your judges and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.
29 He ʻoku ou ʻilo ʻo kau ka mate te mou fakahalaʻi ʻaupito ʻakimoutolu, pea tafoki mei he hala ʻaia kuo u fekau kiate kimoutolu; pea ʻe tō ʻae kovi kiate kimoutolu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻamui; ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou fai kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ke fakatupu ai hono houhau ʻi he ngāue ʻa homou nima.”
For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of YHWH, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands."
Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.
