< Teutalonome 10 >
1 “Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe Sihova kiate au ʻi he kuonga ko ia, ‘Ke ke tā mai ʻae ongo maka lafalafa ʻo hangē ko e ʻuluaki, pea ke ʻalu hake kiate au ki he moʻunga, pea ke ngaohi kiate koe ha puha ʻakau.’
At that time the LORD said to me, “Cut two stone tablets like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
2 Pea te u tohi ki he ongo maka lafalafa ʻae ngaahi lea naʻe ʻi he ʻuluaki maka ʻaia naʻa ke maumauʻi, pea te ke ʻai ia ki he puha.
I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.”
So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two stone tablets like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.
4 Pea naʻe tohi ʻe ia ki he ongo maka lafalafa ʻo fakatatau ki he ʻuluaki tohi, ko e fekau ʻe hongofulu, ʻaia naʻe folofolaʻaki ʻe Sihova kiate kimoutolu ʻi he moʻunga mei he lotolotonga ʻoe afi ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe fakataha: pea naʻe tuku mai ia ʻe Sihova kiate au.
He wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spoke to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them to me.
5 Pea naʻaku tafoki au ʻo ʻalu hifo mei he moʻunga, peau ʻai ʻae ongo maka lafalafa ki he puha naʻaku ngaohi; pea ʻoku ʻi ai ia, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Sihova kiate au.
I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are as the LORD commanded me.
6 “Pea naʻe hiki ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻa honau fononga mei Piheloti ʻoe fānau ʻa Sekani ki Mosela: pea naʻe pekia ai ʻa ʻElone, pea naʻe tanu ia ʻi ai; pea naʻe tongia ia ʻe ʻEliesa ko hono foha ʻi he ngāue fakataulaʻeiki.
(The children of Israel traveled from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his place.
7 Pea naʻa nau fononga mei ai ki Kotikota; pea mei Kotikota ki Sotipati, ko e fonua ʻoe ngaahi vaitafe.
From there they traveled to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.
8 “Pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia naʻe vaheʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae faʻahinga ʻo Livai, ke haʻamo ʻae puha ʻoe fuakava ʻo Sihova, ke tuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ke tauhi kiate ia, mo tāpuakiʻi ʻi hono huafa, ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni.
At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the LORD’s covenant, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.
Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD your God spoke to him.)
10 Pea ne u tatali ʻi he moʻunga, ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fāngofulu mo e pō ʻe fāngofulu, ʻo hangē ko e fuofua fai; pea naʻe tokanga kiate au ʻa Sihova ʻi he kuonga foki ko ia, pea naʻe ʻikai fie fakaʻauha ʻakimoutolu ʻe Sihova.
I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD listened to me that time also. The LORD would not destroy you.
11 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, Tuʻu hake, ʻo fononga atu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai, koeʻuhi kenau ʻalu atu ʻo maʻu ʻae fonua, ʻaia naʻaku fuakava ai ki heʻenau ngaahi tamai ke foaki kiate kinautolu.
The LORD said to me, “Arise, take your journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them.”
12 “Pea ko eni, ʻE ʻIsileli, ko e hā ia ʻoku fekau ai ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe, ka ke manavahē kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ke ʻalu ʻi hono ngaahi hala kotoa pē, pea ke ʻofa kiate ia, pea ke tauhi ʻa Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ʻaki ho loto kotoa pea mo ho laumālie kotoa.
Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
13 Ke tauhi ʻae ngaahi fekau ʻa Sihova, mo ʻene ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni, ʻaia ʻoku ou fekau kiate koe he ʻaho ni ke ke lelei ai?
to keep the LORD’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?
14 Vakai, ko e langi mo e langi ʻoe ngaahi langi ʻoku ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ko māmani foki, mo ia kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai.
Behold, to the LORD your God belongs heaven, the heaven of heavens, and the earth, with all that is therein.
15 Ka naʻe finangalo lelei ʻa Sihova ki hoʻo ngaahi tamai ke ʻofa kiate kinautolu, pea naʻa ne fili honau hako kimui ʻiate kinautolu, ʻio, ko kimoutolu ʻi he kakai kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko ia he ʻaho ni.
Only the LORD had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their offspring after them, even you above all peoples, as it is today.
16 Ko ia ke mou kamuʻi ʻae kili ʻo homou loto, pea ʻoua te mou kei kia kekeva.
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.
17 He ko Sihova ko homou ʻOtua ko e ʻOtua ia ʻoe ngaahi ʻotua, mo e ʻEiki ia ʻoe ngaahi ʻeiki, ko e ʻOtua lāngilangi, ko e māfimafi, mo fakailifia, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai filifilimānako ki he kakai, pe maʻu ha totongi:
For the LORD your God, he is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn’t respect persons or take bribes.
18 ʻOku ne fakamaau ʻe ia maʻae tamai mate mo e fefine paea, ʻoku ʻofa ia ki he muli, ʻo ne foaki ki ai ʻae meʻakai mo e kofu.
He executes justice for the fatherless and widow and loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing.
19 Ko ia mou ʻofa foki ki he muli: he naʻa mou nofo ko e kau muli ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
20 Ke ke manavahē kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua; ko ia pe ke ke tauhi, pea ke pikitai kiate ia pe, pea fuakava ki hono huafa.
You shall fear the LORD your God. You shall serve him. You shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.
21 Ko ho vikivikiʻanga ia, pea ko ho ʻOtua ia, ʻaia kuo ne fai maʻau ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi mo fakamanavahē, ʻaia kuo mamata ki ai ʻa ho mata.
He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen.
22 Naʻe ʻalu hifo ʻa hoʻo ngaahi tamai ki ʻIsipite ko e kakai ʻe toko fitungofulu; pea ko eni kuo ngaohi koe ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ke tatau mo e ngaahi fetuʻu ʻoe langi homou tokolahi.
Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now the LORD your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.
