< Kolose 3 >
1 Pea kapau kuo mou toetuʻu mo Kalaisi, mou kumi ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻi ʻolunga, ʻaia ʻoku nofo ki ai ʻa Kalaisi ki he nima toʻomataʻu ʻoe ʻOtua.
If then ye are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting on the right hand of God;
2 Mou faʻa tokanga ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻi ʻolunga, kae ʻikai ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻi māmani.
think about those things above, and not things upon the earth.
3 He kuo mou mate, pea ʻoku fufū hoʻomou moʻui mo Kalaisi ʻi he ʻOtua.
For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God:
4 ʻOka fakahā mai ʻa Kalaisi, ko ʻetau moʻuiʻanga, te mou toki hā ai mo ia foki ʻi he nāunau.
when Christ, your life, may appear, then will you also appear with him in glory.
5 Ko ia mou tāmateʻi homou ngaahi kupu ʻoku ʻi māmani; ko e feʻauaki, mo e ngāue ʻuli, mo e fakalielia, mo e holi kovi, mo e manumanu, ʻaia ko e tauhi tamapua:
Therefore kill your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;
6 He koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi meʻa pehē ʻoku hoko ai ʻae houhau ʻoe ʻOtua ki he fānau talangataʻa:
through which the wrath of God comes.
7 ʻAia naʻa mou ʻaʻeva ai foki ʻi muʻa, ʻi hoʻomou moʻui ki ai.
In which you indeed at one time did walk about, when you lived in them:
8 Ka ko eni ʻoku mou siʻaki ʻa eni kotoa pē foki; ʻae ʻita, mo e lili, mo e fakafasifasi, mo e kapekape, mo e lea ʻuli mei homou ngutu.
but you also lay aside all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, disgraceful talk out of your mouths:
9 ʻOua naʻa mou felohiʻaki, he kuo mou siʻaki ʻae tangata motuʻa mo ʻene ngaahi ngāue;
lie not to one another, having laid aside the old man with his habits,
10 Pea kuo mou ʻai ʻa e [tangata ]foʻou, ʻaia kuo fakafoʻou ʻi he ʻilo, ʻo fakatatau ki hono tatau ʻo ia naʻa ne fakatupu ia:
and having put on the new man, who is renewed into perfect knowledge according to the image of him who created him:
11 ʻAia ʻoku ʻikai ai ha Kiliki pe ha Siu, ha kamu pe ha taʻekamu, ha muli, pe ha Sitia, ha pōpula, pe ha tauʻatāina: ka ko hono kātoa kotoa ʻa Kalaisi, pea ʻoku ne ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē.
where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bond, free: but Christ is all things, and in all.
12 Ko ia ko kimoutolu, ko e māʻoniʻoni mo e ʻofeina, mou ai, ʻo taau mo e kakai fili ʻae ʻOtua, ʻae manavaʻofa, mo e angalelei, mo e loto angavaivai, mo e angamalū, mo e kātaki fuoloa;
Therefore, as elect of God, holy and beloved, put on affections of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
forbearing one another and forgiving one another, if any one may have a quarrel against any one; as Christ also forgave you, so indeed do you likewise:
14 Pea ke ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē ʻae ʻofa, ʻaia ko e noʻo ʻoe haohaoa.
and in all these things put on divine love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 Pea tuku ke pule ʻi homou loto ʻae melino ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe uiuiʻi ʻakimoutolu ki ai foki ʻi he sino pe taha; pea ke mou fakafetaʻi.
And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, in which you are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Ke nofoʻia ʻo lahi ʻaupito ʻakimoutolu ʻe he folofola ʻa Kalaisi ʻi he poto kotoa pē; pea mou feakonakiʻaki mo fetokoniʻaki ʻi he ngaahi saame, mo e lea mālie, mo e ngaahi hiva fakalaumālie, ʻo hiva mo e ʻofa ʻi homou loto ki he ʻEiki.
Let the word of God dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another, in all wisdom, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, with grace making melody in your hearts to God;
17 Pea ʻilonga ʻaia ʻoku mou fai ʻi he lea pe ʻi he ngāue, fai kotoa pē ʻi he huafa ʻoe ʻEiki ko Sisu, ʻo fakafetaʻi ki he ʻOtua ko e Tamai ʻiate ia.
and every thing whatsoever you may do, in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
18 ʻAe kau fefine, fakavaivai ʻakimoutolu ki homou husepāniti ʻomoutolu, he ʻoku ngali ia ʻi he ʻEiki.
Ye wives, submit to your husbands as is becoming in the Lord.
19 ʻAe kau tangata, ʻofa ki homou uaifi, pea ʻoua naʻa fai anga fakaʻita kiate kinautolu.
Ye husbands, love your wives with divine love, and be not harsh towards them.
20 ʻAe fānau, fai talangofua ki hoʻomou mātuʻa ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē: he ʻoku lelei lahi ia ki he ʻEiki.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, in order that they may not be discouraged.
22 ʻAe kau tamaioʻeiki, fai talangofua ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē ki homou ʻeiki fakakakano; ʻoua naʻa ʻi he ngāue fakamamata pe, ʻo hangē ko e kau fakamālie ki he tangata; ka ʻi he loto totonu, ʻo manavahē ki he ʻOtua:
Ye servants, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things; not with eye-service, pleasing men, but of purity of heart, fearing the Lord.
23 Pea ʻilonga ʻaia ʻoku mou fai, fai loto lelei, ʻo hangē ki he ʻEiki, kae ʻikai ki he tangata:
Whatsoever you may do, work from your soul, as for the Lord, and not for men;
24 ʻI hoʻomou ʻilo temou maʻu mei he ʻEiki ʻae totongi ko e tofiʻa: he ʻoku mou tauhi ʻae ʻEiki ko Kalaisi.
knowing that you will receive the recompense of the inheritance from the Lord. Serve the Lord Christ;
for the one doing wrong receives that for which he did the injustice: and there is no respect of persons.
