< ʻAmosi 7 >

1 ‌ʻOku pehē hono fakahā mai kiate au ʻe he ʻEiki ko e ʻOtua; pea vakai, naʻa ne ngaohi ʻae ngaahi heʻe ʻi he kamataʻanga ʻoe tupu hake ʻae taʻu tokamui; pea vakai, ko e tokamui ia hili ʻae tuʻusi maʻa e tuʻi.
The Lord God schewide these thingis to me; and lo! a makere of locust in bigynnyng of buriownynge thingis of euentid reyn, and lo! euentid reyn after the clippere of the kyng.
He ʻoku siʻi ia.”
And it was don, whanne he hadde endid for to ete the erbe of erthe, Y seide, Lord God, Y biseche, be thou merciful; who schal reise Jacob, for he is litil?
3 Naʻe fakatomala ʻa Sihova ʻi he meʻa ni: ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE ʻikai hoko ia.”
The Lord hadde merci on this thing; It schal not be, seide the Lord God.
4 ‌ʻOku pehē hono fakahā mai kiate au ʻe he ʻEiki ko e ʻOtua; pea vakai, naʻe ui ʻe he ʻEiki ko e ʻOtua ke tau ʻaki ʻae afi, pea naʻa ne kai ʻae moana lahi, pea ne folo ʻae vahe ʻe taha?
The Lord God schewide to me these thingis; and lo! the Lord God schal clepe doom to fier, and it schal deuoure myche depthe of watir, and it eet togidere a part.
5 Pea naʻaku toki pehē, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua, “ʻOku ou kole kiate koe ke tuku ʻā: ʻe toetuʻu ʻa Sēkope ʻia hai? He ʻoku siʻi ia.”
And Y seide, Lord God, Y biseche, reste thou; who schal reise Jacob, for he is litil?
6 Naʻe fakatomala ʻa Sihova ʻi he meʻa ni: ʻoku pehē ʻe he ʻEiki ko e ʻOtua, “ʻE ʻikai hoko eni foki.”
The Lord hadde merci on this thing; But and this thing schal not be, seide the Lord God.
7 Naʻe pehē ʻene fakahā mai ia kiate au: pea vakai, naʻe tuʻu ʻae ʻEiki ʻi he fukahi ʻā naʻe ngaohi ki he afo fuofua, pea naʻe ʻai ʻae afo fuofua ʻi hono nima.
The Lord God schewide to me these thingis; and lo! the Lord stondinge on a wal plastrid, and in the hond of hym was a trulle of a masoun.
8 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, “ʻAmosi, ko e hā ʻoku ke mamata ai?” Pea naʻaku pehē, “Ko e afo fuofua.” Pea ne pehē ʻe he ʻEiki, “Vakai, te u ʻai ʻae afo fuofua ki he lotolotonga ʻo hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli: ʻikai te u toe laka ʻiate kinautolu:
And the Lord seide to me, What seest thou, Amos? And Y seide, A trulle of a masoun. And the Lord seide, Lo! I schal putte a trulle in the myddil of my puple Israel; Y schal no more putte to, for to ouerlede it;
and the hiy thingis of idol schulen be distried, and the halewyngis of Israel schulen be desolat; and Y schal rise on the hous of Jeroboam bi swerd.
10 Pea ne toki fekau ʻe ʻAmasia ko e taulaʻeiki ʻi Peteli, kia Selopoami ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻo pehē, “Kuo angatuʻu ʻa ʻAmosi kiate koe ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fale ʻo ʻIsileli: ʻe ʻikai faʻa kātaki ʻe he fonua ʻa ʻene ngaahi lea kotoa pē.
And Amasie, prest of Bethel, sente to Jeroboam, kyng of Israel, and seide, Amos rebellide ayens thee, in the myddil of the hous of Israel; the lond mai not susteyne alle hise wordis.
11 Koeʻuhi ʻoku pehē ʻe ʻAmosi, ‘ʻE mate ʻa Selopoami ʻi he heletā, pea ko e moʻoni ʻe taki pōpula ʻa ʻIsileli mei honau fonua ʻonautolu.’”
For Amos seith these thingis, Jeroboam schal die bi swerd, and Israel caitif schal passe fro his lond.
12 Pea ne pehē foki ʻe ʻAmasia kia ʻAmosi, “ʻA koe ʻoku mamata meʻa, ʻalu, puna atu ki he fonua ʻo Siuta, pea kai ai ʻae mā, mo kikite ai:
And Amasie seide to Amos, Thou that seest, go; fle thou in to the lond of Juda, and ete thou there thi breed; and there thou schalt profesie.
13 Kae ʻoua naʻa toe kikite ʻi Peteli he ko e falelotu ia ʻoe tuʻi, pea ko e nofoʻanga ʻoe tuʻi.”
And thou schalt no more put to, that thou profesie in Bethel, for it is the halewyng of the king, and is the hous of the rewme.
And Amos answeride, and seide to Amasie, Y am not a profete, and Y am not sone of profete; but an herde of neet Y am, drawyng vp sicomoris.
15 Pea naʻe ʻave au ʻe Sihova ʻi heʻeku muimui ki he fanga manu, pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, ‘ʻAlu, ʻo kikite ki hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli.’
And the Lord took me, whanne Y suede the floc; and the Lord seide to me, Go, and profesie thou to my puple Israel.
16 Pea ko eni, fanongo koe ki he folofola ʻa Sihova: ʻoku ke pehē, ‘ʻOua naʻa kikite ki ʻIsileli, pea ʻoua naʻa tō [hoʻo lea ]ki he fale ʻo ʻAisake.’
And now here thou the word of the Lord. Thou seist, Thou schalt not profesie on Israel, and thou schal not droppe on the hous of idol.
17 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; ‘ʻE hoko ho uaifi ko e fefine feʻauaki ʻi he kolo, pea ko ho ngaahi foha mo ho ngaahi ʻofefine, ʻe tō ʻi he heletā, pea ʻe vahevahe ho fonua ʻaki ʻae afo; pea te ke mate ʻi ha fonua pani ʻuli: pea ʻe ʻalu moʻoni ʻa ʻIsileli mei hono fonua ki he pōpula.’”
For this thing the Lord seith these thingis, Thi wijf schal do fornicacioun in the citee, and thi sones and thi douytris schal falle bi swerd, and thi lond schal be motun with a litil coord; and thou schalt die in a pollutid lond, and Israel caitif schal passe fro his lond.
