< Kau ʻAposetolo 3 >
1 Pea naʻe ʻohake fakataha ʻa Pita mo Sione ki he falelotu lahi ʻi he feituʻulaʻā lotu, ʻaia ko hono hiva.
Now, about that time, Peter and John went up to the temple, at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 Pea ko e tangata ʻe taha naʻe pipiki talu hono fanauʻi, naʻe fata ange ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē, ʻo tuku ʻi he matapā ʻoe falelotu lahi ʻaia naʻe ui ko e Fakasanisani, ke kole kiate kinautolu naʻe hū ki he falelotu lahi;
And a certain man, who had been lame from his birth, was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those that entered into the temple;
3 Pea mamata ia kia Pita mo Sione ʻoku fai ke na hū ki he falelotu lahi, pea ne kole.
who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, begged to receive alms.
4 Pea sio fakamamaʻu ʻa Pita mo Sione kiate ia, ʻo na pehē, “Sio mai kiate kimaua.”
But Peter, with John, looking steadfastly upon him, said, Look on us.
5 Pea tokanga atu ia kiate kinaua, ʻo ʻamanaki te ne maʻu ha meʻa ʻiate kinaua.
And he fixed his eyes upon them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Pea toki pehē ʻe Pita, “Ko e siliva mo e koula ʻoku ʻikai te u maʻu; ka ko ia ʻoku ou maʻu te u foaki kiate koe: ʻi he huafa ʻo Sisu Kalaisi ʻo Nāsaleti tuʻu hake ʻo ʻalu.”
But Peter said, Silver and gold I have none, but what I have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, rise up and walk.
7 Pea naʻa ne puke ia ʻi hono nima toʻomataʻu, ʻo fokotuʻu hake ia: pea naʻe mālohi leva hono vaʻe mo hono tungaʻivaʻe.
And, taking him by the right hand, he raised him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones were strengthened.
8 Pea hopo hake ia ʻo tuʻu, mo ʻeveʻeva, pea nau hū fakataha mo ia ki he falelotu lahi, kuo ʻeveʻeva, mo hopohopo, pea fakamālō ki he ʻOtua.
And leaping up, he stood, and walked about, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 Pea naʻe mamata ʻae kakai kotoa pē kiate ia, ʻoku ʻeveʻeva mo fakamālō ki he ʻOtua;
And all the people saw him walking, and praising God;
10 Pea naʻa nau ʻilo ko ia ia naʻe nofo ʻo kole ʻi he matapā Fakasanisani ʻoe falelotu lahi: pea naʻe mātuʻaki ofo ʻakinautolu mo fakatumutumu ʻi he meʻa kuo fai kiate ia.
and they knew him to be the same person who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
11 Pea ʻi heʻene kei puke kia Pita mo Sione ʻe he tangata pipiki kuo fakamoʻui, naʻe feleleʻi ki ai ʻae kakai kotoa pē, ʻoku nau ofo lahi, ki he fale hala, ʻoku fakahingoa kia Solomone.
And while he kept fast hold of Peter and John, all the people ran together to them, exceedingly astonished, in the portico called Solomon's.
12 Pea kuo mamata ʻa Pita ki ai, pea pehē ʻe ia ki he kakai, “ʻAe kau tangata ʻIsileli, ko e hā ʻoku mou ofo ai ʻi he meʻa ni? Pea ko e hā ʻoku mou sio fakamamaʻu ai kiate kimaua, ʻo hangē kuo ma ngaohi ʻi haʻama mālohi pe māʻoniʻoni ʻamaua ke ʻeveʻeva ʻae tangata ni?
And Peter, seeing this, answered the people, Israelites, why do you wonder at this? or why do you fix your eyes on us, as if by our own power, or piety, we had made this man to walk?
13 Ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻEpalahame, mo ʻAisake, mo Sēkope, ko e ʻOtua ʻoe tau ngaahi tamai, kuo ne fakaongoongolelei hono ʻAlo ko Sisu; ʻaia naʻa mou tukuakiʻi pea liʻaki ʻi he ʻao ʻo Pailato, ka naʻe mātuʻaki loto ia ki hono tukuange.
The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you delivered up, and rejected in the presence of Pilate, when he was desirous to release him:
14 Ka naʻa mou liʻaki ʻae tokotaha māʻoniʻoni mo angatonu, pea kole ke tuku ʻae tangata fakapō kiate kimoutolu;
but you rejected the Holy and Righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted to you;
15 Kae tāmateʻi ʻae ʻEiki ʻoe moʻui, ʻaia kuo fokotuʻu ʻe he ʻOtua mei he mate; pea ko e kau fakamoʻoni ʻakimautolu ki ai.
and killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses;
16 Pea ko hono huafa, ko e tui ki hono huafa, kuo ne fakamālohi ʻae tangata ni, ʻaia ʻoku mou mamata pea ʻiloʻi: ʻio, ko e tui kiate ia, kuo maʻu ai ʻe he tangata ni ʻae moʻui haohaoa ni ʻi he ʻao ʻomoutolu kotoa pē.
and his name, through faith in his name, has made this man strong, whom ye see and know; yes, the faith which is by him, has given him this perfect soundness, in the presence of you all.
17 “Pea ko eni, ʻe kāinga, ʻoku ou ʻilo ne mou fai ia ʻi he vale, pea pehē foki mo hoʻomou kau pule.
And now, brethren, I know that through ignorance you did it, as did also your rulers;
18 Ka ko e ngaahi meʻa ko ia naʻe tomuʻa fakahā ʻe he ʻOtua ʻi he ngutu ʻo ʻene kau palōfita kotoa pē, ʻe mamahi ai ʻa Kalaisi, kuo ne fakamoʻoni ia.
but those things which God foretold, by the mouth of all his prophets, that the Messiah should suffer, he has thus fulfilled.
19 Ko ia ke mou fakatomala, pea liliu, ke fakamolemole ai hoʻomou angahala, koeʻuhi ke hoko mai ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe fakamoʻui mei he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki;
Reform, therefore, and return to God, that so your sins may be blotted out; that seasons of refreshment may come from the presence of the Lord,
20 Pea te ne fekau mai ʻa Sisu Kalaisi, ʻaia naʻe tomuʻa malangaʻaki kiate kimoutolu:
and that he may send Jesus Christ, who was before designed for you:
21 ʻAia ʻe maʻu ʻe he langi, kaeʻoua ke hoko mai ʻae kuonga ʻoe liliu ʻoe meʻa kotoa pē, ʻaia kuo lea ki ai ʻae ʻOtua ʻi he ngutu ʻo ʻene kau palōfita māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē talu mei he ngaohi ʻa māmani. (aiōn )
whom, indeed, heaven must retain till the time of the accomplishment of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets, from the beginning of time. (aiōn )
22 He naʻe lea moʻoni ʻa Mōsese ki he ngaahi tamai, [ʻo pehē], ‘ʻE fokotuʻu ʻe he ʻEiki ko homou ʻOtua ha palōfita kiate kimoutolu ʻi homou kāinga, ʻo hangē ko au; pea te mou fanongo kiate ia ʻi he ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē te ne leaʻaki kiate kimoutolu.
Moses truly said, to the fathers, "A prophet like me shall the Lord your God raise up for you, from among your brethren; him shall you obey in all things, whatsoever he shall say to you:
23 Pea ʻe pehē, ko e tangata kotoa pē ʻe ʻikai tokanga ki he palōfita ko ia, ʻe fakaʻauha ia mei he kakai.’
and it shall come to pass, that every soul who will not obey that prophet, shall be cut off from among the people."
24 ʻIo, pea ko e kau palōfita kotoa pē meia Samuela mo kinautolu ki mui ni, ʻakinautolu naʻe lea, naʻa nau kikite ki he ngaahi ʻaho ni.
Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel, and those that succeeded, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days.
25 Ko e fānau ʻae kau palōfita ʻakimoutolu, pea mo e fuakava naʻe fai ʻe he ʻOtua mo ʻetau ngaahi tamai, ʻi heʻene pehē kia ʻEpalahame, ‘Pea ʻi ho hako ʻe monūʻia ʻae faʻahinga kotoa pē ʻo māmani.’
You are the children of the prophets, and of the institution which God instituted with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in your see shall all the families of the earth be blessed."
26 Pea ʻi he fokotuʻu ʻe he ʻOtua hono ʻAlo ko Sisu, kuo ne tomuʻa fekau ia kiate kimoutolu, ke ne tāpuakiʻi ʻakimoutolu, ʻi he tafoki ʻakimoutolu taki taha mei heʻene hia.”
To you, first, God, having raised up his Son, has sent him to bless you; in turning every one of you, from your iniquities.
