< 2 Samuela 7 >
1 Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi heʻene nofo ʻae tuʻi ʻi hono fale, pea kuo tuku kiate ia ʻe Sihova ʻae mālōlō mei hono ngaahi fili kotoa pē naʻe nofo takatakai;
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest around from all his enemies;
2 Naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi kia Natani ko e palōfita, “Vakai eni, ʻoku ou nofo au ʻi ha fale sita, ka ʻoku nofo ʻae puha tapu ʻoe ʻOtua ʻi he loto puipui [pe].”
That the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Natani ki he tuʻi, “ʻAlu, ʻo fai ʻaia kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ho loto he ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻa Sihova.”
And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that [is] in thy heart: for the LORD [is] with thee.
4 Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he pō pe ko ia, naʻe ongo mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kia Natani, ʻo pehē.
And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
5 “ʻAlu ʻo tala ki heʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko Tevita, ‘ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, He te ke langa ʻe koe kiate au ha fale ke u nofo ai?
Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Wilt thou build me a house for me to dwell in?
6 Kae ʻosi kuo ʻikai te u nofo ʻi ha fale talu mei he kuonga naʻaku ʻomi ai ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mei ʻIsipite, ʻo aʻu mai ki he ʻaho ni, ka kuo u ʻeveʻeva ʻi ha fale tupenu mo ha fale fehikitaki.
Whereas I have not dwelt in [any] house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent, and in a tabernacle.
7 ʻI he potu kotoa pē kuo u ʻalu ai mo e fānau kotoa pē ʻa ʻIsileli, kuo u lea ʻaki koā ha momoʻi lea ki ha tokotaha ʻoe ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻaia naʻaku fekau ke fafangaʻi ʻa hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli, ke pehē, Ko e hā ʻoku ʻikai ai te mou langa hoku fale sita?’
In all [the places] in which I have walked with all the children of Israel have I spoken a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why do ye not build me a house of cedar?
8 Pea ko ia foki te ke pehē ai ki heʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko Tevita, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi tokolahi, ‘Naʻaku hiki mai koe mei he lotoʻā sipi, mei hoʻo muimui ʻi he fanga sipi, ke ke pule ki hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli;
Now therefore so shalt thou say to my servant David, thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheep-cote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
9 Pea naʻaku ʻiate koe ʻi he potu kotoa pē naʻa ke ʻalu ki ai, pea kuo u fakaʻauha atu ʻa ho ngaahi fili kotoa pē mei ho ʻao, pea kuo u ngaohi ke ongoongoa lahi ho hingoa, ʻo tatau mo e hingoa ʻoe kau ongoongoa ʻoku ʻi māmani.
And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thy enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like to the name of the great [men] that [are] in the earth.
10 Pea te u tuʻutuʻuni foki ha potu maʻa hoku kakai ʻIsileli, pea te u fokotuʻu ʻakinautolu, ke nau nofo ʻi ha potu ʻoku ʻonautolu pe, pea ʻikai toe hiki; pea ʻe ʻikai toe fakamamahi ʻakinautolu ʻe he fānau ʻoe angakovi, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻi muʻa,
Moreover, I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as formerly.
11 Pea hangē ko ia kuo fai talu mei heʻeku fekau ke pule ʻa hoku kakai ʻIsileli ʻe he kau fakamaau; pea kuo u tuku kiate koe ʻae mālōlō mei ho ngaahi fili kotoa pē. Pea ʻoku fakahā mai foki ʻe Sihova te ne fakatupu ho fale ʻoʻou.
And as since the time that I commanded judges [to be] over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thy enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee a house.
And when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 Te ne langa ʻe ia ha fale maʻa hoku hingoa, pea te u fokotuʻu ʻae nofoʻanga fakatuʻi ʻo hono puleʻanga ke taʻengata.
He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 Teu ʻiate ia ko e tamai, pea ko hoku foha ia. Kapau te ne fai ha kovi, te u tautea ʻaki ia ʻae meʻa tā ʻae tangata, pea mo e ngaahi tā ʻae fānau ʻae tangata:
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he shall commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 Ka ʻe ʻikai mahuʻi ʻa ʻeku ʻaloʻofa meiate ia, ʻo hangē ko ʻeku ʻave ia ʻia Saula, ʻaia naʻaku ʻave ʻeau mei ho ʻao.
But my mercy shall not depart from him, as I took [it] from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 Pea ko ho fale, pea mo ho puleʻanga ʻe fokotuʻu ia ʻi ho ʻao ʻo taʻengata; ʻe ʻai ke maʻu ʻo taʻengata ʻa ho nofoʻanga fakatuʻi.
And thy house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17 Naʻe lea ʻa Natani kia Tevita ʻo fakatatau mo e ngaahi lea ni, pea tatau mo e meʻa hā mai ni.’”
According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
18 Pea naʻe toki hū atu ʻa Tevita, pea ne nofo ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, pea naʻa ne pehē, “Ko hai au, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua? Pea ko e hā ʻa hoku fale, kuo ke ʻomi ai au ʻo aʻu mai ki he kuonga ni?
Then king David went in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who [am] I, O LORD God? and what [is] my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto;
19 Pea ko e meʻa siʻi foki ia ʻi ho ʻao, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua; he kuo ke folofola foki ki he fale ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ki he kuonga fuoloa ʻe haʻu. Pea he ko e anga eni ʻoe tangata ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua?
And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O LORD God; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And [is] this the manner of man, O LORD God?
20 Pea ko e hā ha toe lea ʻe faʻa fai ʻe Tevita kiate koe? He ʻoku ke ʻilo ʻe koe, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ʻa hoʻo tamaioʻeiki.
And what can David say more to thee? for thou, LORD God, knowest thy servant.
21 Kuo ke fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi ni, koeʻuhi ko hoʻo folofola, pea ʻo hangē ko ho finangalo ʻoʻou, koeʻuhi ke fakaʻilo ia ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki.
For thy word's sake, and according to thy own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know [them].
22 Ko ia ʻoku ke lahi koe, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua: he ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku hangē ko koe, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻOtua mo koe, ʻo tatau mo ia kotoa pē kuo fanongo ki ai ʻa homau telinga.
Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for [there is] none like thee, neither [is there any] God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23 Pea ko fē ia ha puleʻanga pe taha ʻi māmani kuo tatau mo hoʻo kakai, ke hangē ko ʻIsileli, ʻaia naʻe ʻalu atu ʻae ʻOtua ke ne huhuʻi ia ko e kakai maʻana, pea ke fakaongoongolelei foki ia, pea ke fai maʻamoutolu ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi mo fakamanavahē, koeʻuhi ko ho fonua, pea ʻi he ʻao ʻo hoʻo kakai, ʻaia naʻa ke huhuʻi kiate koe mei ʻIsipite, mo e ngaahi puleʻanga pea mo honau ngaahi ʻotua?
And what one nation in the earth [is] like thy people, [even] like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, [from] the nations and their gods?
24 He kuo ke fakapapau kiate koe ʻa hoʻo kakai ʻIsileli, ko e kakai kiate koe ke taʻengata: pea ko koe ʻe Sihova kuo ke hoko ko honau ʻOtua.
For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel [to be] a people to thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
25 Pea ko eni, ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ko e lea kuo ke folofolaʻaki ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, pea koeʻuhi ko hono fale, fokotuʻu ia ke taʻengata, pea ke fai ʻo hangē ko ia kuo ke folofola ki ai.
And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish [it] for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26 Pea tuku ke fakahikihikiʻi ʻa ho huafa ʻo taʻengata, ʻo pehē, Ko Sihova ʻoe ngaahi tokolahi, ko e ʻOtua ia ki ʻIsileli: pea tuku ke fokotuʻumaʻu ʻi ho ʻao ʻae fale ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ko Tevita.
And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts [is] the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to thee.
28 Pea ko eni, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ko koe ʻae ʻOtua ko ia, pea ʻoku moʻoni ʻa hoʻo ngaahi folofola, pea kuo ke talaʻofa ʻaki ʻae lelei ni ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki:
And now, O LORD God, thou [art] that God, and thy words are true, and thou hast promised this goodness to thy servant:
29 Ko ia tuku ke lelei ia kiate koe ke tāpuaki ʻae fale ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, koeʻuhi ke tuʻumaʻu ia ʻi ho ʻao ʻo taʻengata: he ko koe, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua, kuo ke folofola ki ai: pea ʻi hoʻo tāpuaki tuku ke tāpuakiʻi ʻae fale ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ʻo taʻengata.”
Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O LORD God, hast spoken [it]: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
