< 2 Samuela 22 >
1 Pea naʻe lea ʻaki ʻe Tevita kia Sihova ʻae ngaahi lea ʻoe hiva ni ʻi he ʻaho naʻe fakamoʻui ai ia ʻe Sihova mei he nima ʻo hono fili kotoa pē, pea mei he nima ʻo Saula: ʻo ne pehē,
David spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
2 Ko hoku makatuʻu ʻa Sihova, mo ʻeku kolo, mo hoku fakamoʻui;
and he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
3 Ko e ʻOtua ʻo hoku mālohi; ko ia te u falala ki ai: ko hoku fakaū, mo e mālohi ʻo ʻeku moʻui, ko hoku fale māʻolunga, mo hoku hūfanga, mo hoku fakamoʻui; ʻoku ke fakahaofi au mei he fakamālohiʻi.
God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My saviour, you save me from violence.
4 Te u ui kia Sihova ʻaia ʻoku taau mo ia ʻae fakafetaʻi: pea ʻe pehē ʻae fakamoʻui au mei hoku ngaahi fili.
I call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
5 ʻI heʻene kāpui au ʻe he ngaahi mamahi ʻoe mate, naʻe fakamanavahēʻi au ʻe he lōmaki mai ʻae kau tangata angakovi;
For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
6 Naʻe kāpui au ʻe he ngaahi mamahi ʻoe faʻitoka; naʻe talia au ʻe he ngaahi tauhele ʻoe mate (Sheol )
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me. (Sheol )
In my distress, I called on the LORD. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.
8 Naʻe toki ngalulu ai ʻa māmani mo tetetete; naʻe ngaue mo lulululu ʻae tuʻunga ʻoe langi, koeʻuhi ko ʻene houhau.
Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.
9 Naʻe ʻalu hake ʻae kohu mei hono fofonga, pea naʻe keina ʻe he afi mei hono ngutu; naʻe tutu ʻaki ia ʻae fefie.
Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.
10 Naʻa ne ofeʻi hifo foki ʻae ngaahi langi ʻo ne hāʻele hifo: pea naʻe ʻi hono lalo vaʻe ʻae poʻuli.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.
11 Pea naʻa ne heka ki he selupi, pea puna; pea naʻe hā mai ia ʻi he kapakau ʻoe matangi.
He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.
12 Pea naʻa ne ngaohi ʻae fakapoʻuli ko e fale ke tuʻu takatakai ʻiate ia, ko e ngaahi vai fakapoʻuli, mo e ngaahi ʻao matolu ʻoe langi.
He made darkness a shelter around himself, gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
13 Ko e meʻa ʻi he uloulo ʻi hono ʻao naʻe tutu ai ʻae fefie ʻoe afi.
At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.
14 Naʻe mana ʻa Sihova mei he langi, pea naʻe fakaongo atu ʻe he Toko Taha Māʻolunga ʻa hono leʻo.
The LORD thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.
15 Pea naʻa ne fanaʻi atu ʻae ngaahi ngahau, mo fakamovetevete ʻakinautolu ko e ʻuhila ke veuveuki kinautolu.
He sent out arrows and scattered them, lightning and confused them.
16 Pea naʻe ha hake ʻae tokaʻanga ʻoe tahi, naʻe fakahāhā mai ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga ʻo māmani, ʻi he valokia mai ʻa Sihova, mo e ʻuʻulu mai ʻae mānava ʻo hono fofonga.
Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the LORD’s rebuke, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
17 Naʻa ne fekau mei ʻolunga, ʻo ne puke au; naʻa ne toʻo atu au mei he ngaahi vai lahi;
He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.
18 Naʻa ne fakamoʻui au mei hoku fili mālohi, pea meiate kinautolu naʻe fehiʻa kiate au: he naʻa nau mālohi fau kiate au.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19 Naʻa nau talia au ʻi he ʻaho ʻo ʻeku tuʻutāmaki, ka ko Sihova ko hoku falalaʻanga.
They came on me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support.
20 Naʻa ne ʻomi foki au ki he potu ʻataʻatā: naʻa ne fakamoʻui au, koeʻuhi ko ʻene fiemālie ʻiate au.
He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
21 Naʻe totongi au ʻe Sihova ʻo fakatatau mo ʻeku māʻoniʻoni: ʻo hangē ko e maʻa ʻo hoku nima kuo pehē ʻa ʻene totongi kiate au.
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.
22 He kuo tauhi ʻeau ʻae hala ʻo Sihova, pea kuo ʻikai te u mahuʻi ʻi he angakovi mei hoku ʻOtua.
For I have kept the LORD’s ways, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 He naʻe ʻi hoku ʻao ʻa ʻene ngaahi fono kotoa pē: pea ko ʻene ngaahi fekau naʻe ʻikai te u ʻalu kehe mo ia.
For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I didn’t depart from them.
24 Naʻaku angatonu foki ʻi hono ʻao, pea kuo u taʻofi au mei heʻeku hia ʻaʻaku.
I was also perfect towards him. I kept myself from my iniquity.
25 Ko ia kuo totongi au ʻe Sihova ʻo fakatatau mo ʻeku māʻoniʻoni: ʻo fakatatau mo ʻeku maʻa ʻi hono ʻao.
Therefore the LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.
26 Kiate ia ʻoku ʻaloʻofa ongongofua te ke fakahā ʻe koe ʻae ʻaloʻofa, pea ki he tangata angatonu te ke fakahā koe ko e angatonu.
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.
27 Kiate ia ʻoku angamaʻa te ke fakahā koe ki ai ko e angamaʻa; pea ko ia ʻoku angamamili, te ke fangatua mo ia.
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
28 Pea te ke fakamoʻui ʻae kakai ʻoku mamahi: ka ʻoku ʻafio ʻe ho fofonga ki he kakai fielahi, koeʻuhi ke hifo ʻakinautolu ki lalo.
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.
29 He ko hoku maama ʻa koe, ʻE Sihova pea ʻe fakamaama ʻe Sihova ʻa ʻeku fakapoʻuli.
For you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD will light up my darkness.
30 He ko e meʻa ʻiate koe kuo u motuhi ai ha vāhenga tau: pea ko e meʻa ʻi hoku ʻOtua kuo u puna atu ai ʻi ha ʻā.
For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.
31 Ko e ʻOtua, ʻoku haohaoa hono hala ʻoʻona: kuo ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova: ko e ungaʻanga ia kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku falala kiate ia.
As for God, his way is perfect. The LORD’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
32 He ko hai ʻoku ʻOtua ka ko Sihova pe? Pea ko hai ko e makatuʻu, ka ko hotau ʻOtua pe?
For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God?
33 Ko e ʻOtua ko hoku mālohi fakamoʻomoʻoni: pea ʻoku ne fakaʻataʻatā ʻa hoku ʻaluʻanga.
God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.
34 ʻOku ne fakatatau ʻa hoku vaʻe ke hangē ko e [vaʻe ]ʻoe ʻanitelope; pea ʻoku ne fakaheka au ki hoku ngaahi potu māʻolunga.
He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.
35 ʻOku ne akoʻi ʻa hoku nima ki he tau; ko ia ʻoku faʻa fesiua ai ha kaufana ukamea ʻi hoku nima.
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
36 Kuo ke foaki foki kiate au ʻae fekau ʻo hoʻo fakamoʻui: pea ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo angaʻofa kuo u hoko ai ʻo lahi.
You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.
37 Kuo ke fakaʻataʻatā ʻae ʻaluʻanga ʻi lalo ʻiate au; ko ia naʻe ʻikai hekea ai ʻa hoku vaʻe.
You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.
38 Kuo u tulia ʻa hoku ngaahi fili, mo fakaʻauha kinautolu; pea naʻe ʻikai te u toe tafoki kaeʻoua ke u fakaʻosiʻosi ʻakinautolu.
I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.
39 Pea kuo u fakaʻosiʻosi kinautolu, mo fakakafoʻi kinautolu, ke ʻoua naʻa nau faʻa tuʻu hake: ʻio, kuo nau hinga ki hoku lalo vaʻe.
I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet.
40 He ko koe kuo ke fakakofuʻaki au ʻoe mālohi ki he tau: ko kinautolu naʻe tutuʻu hake ke tauʻi au kuo ke fakamapelu hifo kinautolu kiate au.
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
41 Kuo ke foaki foki kiate au ʻae kia ʻo hoku ngaahi fili, koeʻuhi ke u fakaʻauha kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au.
You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.
42 Naʻa nau sio ka naʻe ʻikai ha tokotaha ke fakamoʻui; pea kia Sihova, ka naʻe ʻikai te ne talia kinautolu.
They looked, but there was no one to save; even to the LORD, but he didn’t answer them.
43 Pea naʻaku toki haha fakaikiiki ʻakinautolu ke tatau mo e efu ʻoe kelekele, naʻaku malakaki kinautolu ʻo hangē ko e pelepela ʻoe hala, pea u fakamovetevete atu ʻakinautolu.
Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.
44 Kuo ke fakahaofi foki au mei he fetauʻaki ʻa hoku kakai, kuo ke maluʻi au ke ʻulutukua kiate au ʻae hiteni: ʻe tauhi kiate au ha kakai naʻe ʻikai te u ʻiloa.
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.
45 ʻE fakamoʻulaloa kiate au ʻae fānau ʻoe kakai muli, ʻekinautolu pe: ʻoka nau ka fanongo leva, tenau talangofua kiate au.
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.
46 ʻE fakaʻaʻau ke mole atu ʻae kakai muli, pea tenau manavahē mei honau toitoiʻanga.
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.
47 ʻOku moʻui ʻa Sihova; pea ke monūʻia ʻa hoku makatuʻu; pea ke fakamāʻolunga hake ʻae ʻOtua ʻoe makatuʻu ʻo hoku fakamoʻui.
The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
48 Ko e ʻOtua ia ʻaia ʻoku fai ʻae totongi maʻaku, mo ne fakamoʻulaloa ʻae kakai kiate au,
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,
49 Mo ne ʻomi au mei he lotolotonga ʻo hoku ngaahi fili: ko koe foki kuo ke hiki hake au ke u māʻolunga hake ʻiate kinautolu naʻe tutuʻu hake kiate au: kuo ke fakamoʻui au mei he tangata ʻoku fai fakamālohi.
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
50 Ko ia te u tuku ai ʻae fakafetaʻi kiate koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻi he haʻohaʻonga ʻoe hiteni, pea te u hivaʻaki ʻae fakafetaʻi ki ho huafa.
Therefore I will give thanks to you, LORD, amongst the nations, and will sing praises to your name.
51 Ko e fale māʻolunga [ia ]ʻoe fakamoʻui maʻa ʻene tuʻi: pea ʻoku [ne ]fakahā ʻae ʻaloʻofa kiate ia kuo ne pani [ʻaki ʻae lolo], kia Tevita, pea ki hono hako, ʻo taʻengata.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
