And he came the king David to Bahurim and there! from there a man [was] coming out from [the] clan of [the] house of Saul and name his [was] Shimei [the] son of Gera [he was] coming out continuously and cursing.
6 Pea naʻa ne lisingi ʻae ngaahi maka kia Tevita, pea ki he kau tamaioʻeiki kotoa pē ʻa Tevita ko e tuʻi: ka naʻe tutuʻu ʻae kakai kotoa pē, mo e kau tangata toʻa kotoa pē, ki hono nima toʻomataʻu mo hono toʻohema.
And he stoned with stones David and all [the] servants of the king David and all the people and all the warriors [were] from right his and from left his.
7 Pea naʻe pehē ʻae lea ʻa Simi ʻi heʻene kape, “Hū mai, hū mai, ʻa koe ko e tangata pani toto, pea ko koe ko e tangata ʻoe angakovi:
And thus he said Shimei when cursed he get out get out O man of blood and O man of worthlessness.
8 Kuo toe totongi kiate koe ʻe Sihova ʻae toto kotoa pē ʻoe fale ʻo Saula, ʻaia kuo ke fetongi ʻi he pule; pea kuo tuku ʻe Sihova ʻae puleʻanga ki he nima ʻo ʻApisalomi ko ho foha: pea vakai, kuo moʻua koe ʻi hoʻo kovi, koeʻuhi ko e tangata pani toto koe.”
He has brought back on you Yahweh all - [the] blood of [the] house of Saul whom you have reigned (in place of him *Q(K)*) and he has given Yahweh the kingship in [the] hand of Absalom son your and here you [are] in calamity your for [are] a man of blood you.
9 Pea naʻe toki pehē ai ʻe ʻApisai ko e tama ʻo Seluia ki he tuʻi, “Ko e hā ʻe tuku ke kape ai ʻae kulī mate ni ki hoku ʻeiki ko e tuʻi? ʻOku ou kole kiate koe, tuku au ke u ʻalu atu ʻo tuʻusi ʻa hono ʻulu.”
And he said Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah to the king why? will he curse the dog dead this lord my the king let me pass over please and let me remove head his.
10 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi, “Ko e hā au kiate kimoutolu, ʻae ngaahi tama ʻo Seluia? Tuku pe ke ne kape mai, he kuo pehē ʻe Sihova kiate ia, Kape kia Tevita. Pea ka kuo pehē, ko hai ʻe pehē [atu], Ko e hā kuo ke fai pehē ai?”
And he said the king what? [is] to me and to you O sons of Zeruiah (thus *Q(K)*) he is cursing (for *Q(K)*) Yahweh he has said to him curse David and who? will he say why? have you done thus.
11 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita kia ʻApisai, “Pea mo ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki kotoa pē, Vakai, ko hoku foha ʻaia naʻe haʻu mei hoku fatu, ʻoku kumi ki heʻeku moʻui: pea ka kuo pehē ʻikai ʻe ngofua hake ke fai ia ʻe he tangata Penisimani ni? Tuku noa ai pe ia, pea tuku pe ke ne kape he kuo fekau ia ʻe Sihova.
And he said David to Abishai and to all servants his here! son my who he went out from inward parts my [is] seeking life my and indeed? for now [the] Ben-jaminite leave alone him so he may curse for he has spoken to him Yahweh.
12 Heiʻilo ʻe ʻafio ʻe Sihova ki heʻeku mamahi, pea totongi lelei au ʻe Sihova koeʻuhi ko ʻene kape kiate au he ʻaho ni.”
Perhaps he will look Yahweh (on sin my *Q(K)*) and he will repay Yahweh to me good in place of curse his the day this.
13 Pea ʻi heʻene ʻalu atu ʻa Tevita pea mo ʻene kau tangata ʻi he hala, naʻe ʻalu atu ʻa Simi ʻi he tahifohifo ʻoe moʻunga, ʻo feʻunga atu mo ia, pea naʻa ne kape pe mo ʻalu, pea ne lisi ʻae ngaahi maka kiate ia, mo ne laku ʻae efu [kiate ia].
And he went David and men his on the road. And Shimei [was] going on [the] side of the mountain parallel with him he went and he cursed and he stoned [them] with stones parallel with him and he dusted [them] with dust.
14 Pea ko e tuʻi, pea mo e kakai kotoa pē naʻe ʻiate ia, naʻa nau omi ki he potu ko ia, ke mālōlō ai, he kuo nau ongosia.
And he came the king and all the people which [was] with him exhausted and he refreshed himself there.
15 Pea naʻe hoko mai ki Selūsalema, ʻa ʻApisalomi pea mo e kakai tangata kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, pea naʻe [ʻalu ]mo ia ʻa ʻAhitofeli.
And Absalom and all the people [the] man of Israel they came Jerusalem and Ahithophel [was] with him.

And it was just when came Hushai the Arkite [the] friend of David to Absalom and he said Hushai to Absalom may he live the king may he live the king.
17 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ʻApisalomi kia Husai, “Ko hoʻo ʻofa eni ki ho kāinga? Ko e hā naʻe ʻikai te ke ʻalu ai mo ho kāinga?”
And he said Absalom to Hushai [is] this loyalty your with friend your why? not did you go with friend your.
18 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Husai kia ʻApisalomi, “ʻIkai; ka ko ia ʻoku fili ʻe Sihova, pea mo e kakai ni, pea mo e kau tangata kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, te u kau mo ia, pea ko ia pe te u nofo ki ai.
And he said Hushai to Absalom In-deed [the one] whom he has chosen Yahweh and the people this and every man of Israel (to him *Q(K)*) I will belong and with him I will remain.
19 Pea ko hai foki ʻoku totonu ke u tauhi ki ai? ʻIkai ʻi he ʻao ʻo hono foha? ʻO hangē ko ʻeku tauhi ʻi he ʻao ʻo hoʻo tamai, te u pehē foki au ʻi ho ʻao ʻoʻou.”
And the second [thing] whom? I will I serve ¿ not before son his just as I served before father your so I will be (before you. *LAB(h)*)
20 Hili ia naʻe pehē ʻe ʻApisalomi kia ʻAhitofeli, “Mou fakakaukau ʻiate kimoutolu pe ko e hā te tau fai.”
And he said Absalom to Ahithophel give for yourselves counsel what? will we do.
And he said Ahithophel to Absalom go into [the] concubines of father your whom he left to keep the house and it will hear all Israel that you have made yourself odious with father your and they will be strong [the] hands of all who [are] with you.
22 Ko ia naʻa nau folahi atu ai ha fale tupenu ʻi he tuʻa fale ki ʻolunga: pea naʻe hū atu ki ai ʻa ʻApisalomi ki he sinifu ʻo ʻene tamai ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻIsileli kotoa pē.
And they pitched for Absalom the tent on the roof and he went Absalom into [the] concubines of father his to [the] eyes of all Israel.
23 Pea ko e fakakaukau ʻa ʻAhitofeli ʻaia naʻa ne fai ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, naʻe hangē ko e ʻeke ʻe ha tangata ki he folofola ʻae ʻOtua: naʻe pehē pe ʻae fakakaukau ʻa ʻAhitofeli kia Tevita pea mo ʻApisalomi fakatouʻosi.
And [the] counsel of Ahithophel which he counseled in the days those [was] just as (he enquires anyone *Q(K)*) by [the] word of God [was] so all [the] counsel of Ahithophel both to David as well as to Absalom.
