< 2 Tuʻi 21 >

1 Naʻe hongofulu ma ua ʻae taʻu ʻo Manase ʻi heʻene kamata pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe nimangofulu ma nima ʻi Selūsalema. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Hefisipa.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.
2 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo fakatatau mo e ngaahi meʻa kovi ʻae hiteni, ʻaia naʻe kapusi ʻe Sihova mei he ʻao ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
3 He naʻa ne toe langa hake ʻae ngaahi potu māʻolunga ʻaia naʻe fakaʻauha ʻe heʻene tamai ko Hesekaia: pea naʻa ne fokotuʻu hake ʻae ngaahi feilaulauʻanga kia Peali, ʻo ne ngaohi ʻae vaotapu, ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe fai ʻe ʻEhapi ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, pea naʻe lotu ia ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoe langi, mo ne tauhi ʻakinautolu.
For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he raised up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel did, and worshipped all the army of the sky, and served them.
He built altars in the LORD’s house, of which the LORD said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”
5 Pea naʻe ngaohi ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi feilaulauʻanga ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻae langi ʻi he lotoʻā ʻe ua ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova.
He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the LORD’s house.
6 Pea naʻa ne tuku hono foha ke ʻalu ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe afi, pea naʻe tokanga ia ki he ngaahi kuonga, pea naʻa ne fai ʻae tuki [fakatēvolo ]pea naʻe kau ia mo e kau laumālie kovi mo e kau kikite loi: naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi angakovi lahi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ke fakatupu hono houhau.
He made his son to pass through the fire, practised sorcery, used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits and with wizards. He did much evil in the LORD’s sight, to provoke him to anger.
7 Pea naʻe fokotuʻu ʻe ia ʻae tamapua ʻi he vao tapu naʻa ne ngaohi ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova, ʻaia naʻe folofola ai ʻe Sihova kia Tevita, pea kia Solomone ko hono foha, “Te u ʻai hoku hingoa ʻo taʻengata ki he fale ni, pea ʻi Selūsalema, ʻaia kuo u fili mei he ngaahi faʻahinga kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli.
He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which the LORD said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever;
8 Pea ʻe ʻikai te u toe hiki ʻae vaʻe ʻo ʻIsileli mei he fonua ʻaia ne u foaki ki heʻenau ngaahi tamai; ʻo kapau pe te nau tokanga ke fai ʻo hangē ko ia kotoa pē naʻaku fekau kiate kinautolu, pea fakatatau ki he fono kotoa pē ʻaia naʻe fekau ʻe heʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko Mōsese kiate kinautolu.”
I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.”
9 Ka naʻe ʻikai te nau tokanga: pea naʻe fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe Manase ke nau fai kovi lahi hake ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga ʻaia naʻe fakaʻauha ʻe Sihova mei he ʻao ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova ʻi heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki ko e kau palōfita, ʻo pehē,
The LORD spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,
11 “Ko e meʻa ʻi he fai ʻe Manase ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta ʻae ngaahi angakovi lahi ni, pea kuo ne fai angakovi lahi hake ʻaupito ʻi he meʻa naʻe fai ʻe he kakai ʻAmoni ʻaia naʻe ʻi muʻa ʻiate ia, pea kuo ne fakaangahalaʻi ʻa Siuta ʻaki ʻa ʻene ngaahi ʻotua loi:
“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;
therefore the LORD the God of Israel says, ‘Behold, I will bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.
I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plumb line of Ahab’s house; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
14 Pea te u liʻaki hono toe ʻo hoku tofiʻa, pea tukuange ʻakinautolu ki he nima ʻo honau fili: pea te nau hoko ko e meʻa ke vete mo maumau ʻe honau ngaahi fili kotoa pē;
I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies,
15 Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fai kovi ʻi hoku ʻao, mo fakatupu ʻeku houhau, talu ʻae ʻaho naʻe haʻu ai ʻenau ngaahi tamai mei ʻIsipite, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni.”
because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”
16 Ka ko eni, naʻe lingi ʻe Manase ʻae toto māʻoniʻoni ʻo lahi ʻaupito, mo ne fakafonu ʻaki ia ʻa Selūsalema mei he potu ʻe taha ki he potu ʻe taha; kaeʻumaʻā foki ʻa ʻene angahala ʻaia naʻa ne fakaangahala ai ʻa Siuta, ʻi he fai ʻaia naʻe kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; in addition to his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the LORD’s sight.
17 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Manase, mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, mo ʻene angahala ʻaia naʻa ne fai, ʻikai kuo tohi ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta?
Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18 Pea naʻe mohe ʻa Manase mo ʻene ngaahi tamai, pea naʻe tanu ia ʻi he ngoue ʻo hono fale ʻoʻona, ʻi he ngoue ʻo Usa: pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe ʻAmoni ko hono foha.
Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.
19 Naʻe uofulu ma ua ʻae taʻu ʻae motuʻa ʻo ʻAmoni ʻi heʻene kamata ʻene pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe ua ʻi Selūsalema. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Mesulemeti, ko e ʻofefine ʻo Halusi ʻoe kakai Sotipa.
Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ko ʻene tamai ko Manase.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, as Manasseh his father did.
21 Pea naʻe ʻalu ia ʻi he hala kotoa pē naʻe ʻalu ai ʻene tamai, mo ne tauhi ʻae ngaahi ʻotua loi naʻe tauhi ʻe heʻene tamai, ʻo ne lotu kiate kinautolu:
He walked in all the ways that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them;
22 Pea naʻa ne liʻaki ʻe ia ʻa Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻene ngaahi tamai, pea naʻe ʻikai ʻalu ia ʻi he hala ʻo Sihova.
and he abandoned the LORD, the God of his fathers, and didn’t walk in the way of the LORD.
23 Pea naʻe teu ʻae lapa ʻe he kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa ʻAmoni kiate ia, ʻonau tāmateʻi ʻae tuʻi ʻi hono fale ʻoʻona.
The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.
24 Pea naʻe tāmateʻi ʻe he kakai ʻoe fonua ʻakinautolu kotoa pē naʻe kau ki he tuʻi ko ʻAmoni: pea naʻe fakanofo ʻe he kakai ʻoe fonua ʻa Sosaia ko hono foha ke tuʻi ia ko hono fetongi.
But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
25 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue naʻe fai ʻe ʻAmoni, ʻikai kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta?
Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
26 Pea naʻe tanu ia ʻi he fonualoto ʻi he ngoue ʻo Usa; pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe hono foha ko Sosaia.
He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
