< 2 Tuʻi 15 >

1 ‌ʻI he taʻu ʻe uofulu ma fitu ʻo Selopoami ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, naʻe kamata pule ki Siuta ʻa ʻAsalia ko e foha ʻo ʻAmasia.
In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.
2 Naʻe hongofulu ma ono taʻu ʻene motuʻa ʻi heʻene hoko ki he pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe nimangofulu ma ua ʻi Selūsalema. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Sekolia ʻo Selūsalema.
Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
3 Pea naʻe fai lelei ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova; ʻo fakatatau ki he meʻa kotoa pē naʻe fai ʻe heʻene tamai ko ʻAmasia;
And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
4 Ka ko e ngaahi potu māʻolunga naʻe ʻikai liʻaki: naʻe feilaulau mo tutu ʻae meʻa namu kakala ʻe he kakai ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻolunga.
Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
5 Pea naʻe taaʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae tuʻi, pea naʻa ne kilia ai ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ʻo ʻene mate; pea naʻa ne nofo ʻi he fale mavahe. Pea naʻe pule ʻa Sotami ko e foha ʻoe tuʻi ki he fale pea naʻe fakamaau ʻe ia ʻae kakai ʻoe fonua.
And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son [was] over the house, judging the people of the land.
6 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa ʻAsalia mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, ʻikai ʻoku tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta?
And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
7 Ko ia, naʻe mohe ʻa ʻAsalia mo ʻene ngaahi tamai; pea naʻa nau tanu ia mo ʻene ngaahi tamai ʻi he Kolo ʻo Tevita: pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe Sotami ko hono foha.
So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
9 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻaia naʻe kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe fai ʻe heʻene ngaahi tamai: naʻe ʻikai mahuʻi ia mei he ngaahi angahala ʻa Selopoami ko e foha ʻo Nipati, ʻaia naʻa ne fakaangahalaʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
10 Pea naʻe lapasi ia ʻe Salumi ko e foha ʻo Sepesi, ʻo ne taaʻi ia ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai, pea ne tāmateʻi ia, pea naʻa ne fetongi ia ʻi he pule.
And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
11 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Sakalia, vakai, kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli.
And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
This [was] the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth [generation]. And so it came to pass.
13 ʻI hono tolungofulu ma hiva ʻoe taʻu ʻo ʻUsaia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, naʻe kamata pule ʻa Salumi ko e foha ʻo Sepesi; pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he māhina kātoa ʻe taha ʻi Samēlia.
Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.
14 He naʻe ʻalu hake ʻa Minehemi ko e foha ʻo Kati, mei Tilisa, pea haʻu ia ki Samēlia, ʻo ne taaʻi ʻa Salumi ko e foha ʻo Sepesi ʻi Samēlia, ʻo ne tāmateʻi ia, pea naʻa ne fetongi ia ʻi he pule.
For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
15 Ka ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Salumi, mo ʻene fai ʻae lapa, vakai, kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli.
And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16 Pea naʻe toki taaʻi ʻe Minehemi ʻa Tifisa, mo ia kotoa pē naʻe ʻi ai, mo hono ngaahi potu ngataʻanga, ʻo aʻu ki Tilisa: koe meʻa ʻi he ʻikai te nau fakaava ia kiate ia, ko ia naʻa ne taaʻi ai ia; pea ko e kau fefine feitama kotoa pē naʻe ʻi ai naʻa ne hae hake.
Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that [were] in it, and the borders of it from Tirzah: because they opened not [to him], therefore he smote [it]; [and] all the women in it that were with child he ripped up.
17 ‌ʻI hono tolungofulu ma hiva ʻoe taʻu ʻo ʻAsalia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta naʻe kamata pule ki ʻIsileli ʻa Minehemi ko e foha ʻo Kati, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe hongofulu ʻi Samēlia.
In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, [and reigned] ten years in Samaria.
18 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova; ʻi hono ngaahi ʻaho kotoa pē naʻe ʻikai te ne liʻaki ʻae ngaahi angahala ʻa Selopoami ko e foha ʻo Nipati, ʻaia naʻa ne fakaangahalaʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
19 Pea naʻe haʻu ʻa Puli ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia ke tauʻi ʻae fonua: pea naʻe ʻatu ʻe Minehemi kia Puli ʻae taleniti siliva ʻe taha afe, koeʻuhi ke na kau taha ke fakatuʻumaʻu ʻae puleʻanga ʻi hono nima.
[And] Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
20 Pea naʻe pule ʻe Minehemi ke ʻomi ʻae ngaahi paʻanga mei ʻIsileli, ʻio, mei he kau tangata ongoongo mo koloaʻia, ʻi he tangata taki taha kotoa pē ko e sikeli siliva ʻe nimangofulu, ke foaki ki he tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia. Ko ia, naʻe toe ʻalu ai ʻae tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia, pea naʻe ʻikai nofomaʻu ia ʻi he fonua.
And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, [even] of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
21 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Minehemi, mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, ʻikai ʻoku tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli?
And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22 Pea naʻe mohe ʻa Minehemi mo ʻene ngaahi tamai; pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe Pikaia ko hono foha.
And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
23 ʻI hono nimangofulu taʻu ʻo ʻAsalia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta naʻe kamata pule ki ʻIsileli ʻi Samēlia ʻa Pikaia ko e foha ʻo Minehemi pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe ua.
In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] two years.
24 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova: naʻe ʻikai te ne liʻaki ʻae ngaahi angahala ʻa Selopoami ko e foha ʻo Nipati, ʻaia naʻa ne fakaangahalaʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
25 Ka naʻe te u lapa kiate ia ʻa Peka ko e foha ʻo Limalia ko ʻene ʻeikitau ʻe taha ʻaʻana, ʻo ne taaʻi ia ʻi Samēlia, ʻi he potu tapu ʻoe fale ʻoe tuʻi, fakataha mo ʻAakopi mo ʻEliia, pea mo e kau tangata Kiliati ʻe toko nimangofulu: pea naʻa ne tāmateʻi ia, pea ne fetongi ia ʻi he pule.
But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
26 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Pikaia, mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, vakai, kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli.
And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27 ʻI hono nimangofulu ma ua ʻoe taʻu ʻo ʻAsalia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, naʻe kamata pule ʻa Peka ko e foha ʻo Limalia ki ʻIsileli ʻi Samēlia, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe uofulu,
In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] twenty years.
28 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova: naʻe ʻikai liʻaki ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi angahala ʻa Selopoami ko e foha ʻo Nipati, ʻaia naʻa ne fakaangahalaʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
30 Pea naʻe fai ʻae lapa ʻe Hosea ko e foha ʻo Ela kia Peka ko e foha ʻo Limalia, ʻo ne taaʻi ia, pea ne tāmateʻi ia, pea ne fetongi ia ʻi he pule, ʻi hono uofulu ʻoe taʻu ʻo Sotami ko e foha ʻo ʻUsaia.
And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.
31 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Peka mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, vakai, kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli.
And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
32 ʻI hono ua ʻoe taʻu ʻo Peka ko e foha ʻo Limalia ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, naʻe kamata pule ki Siuta ʻa Sotami ko e foha ʻo ʻUsaia.
In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
33 Naʻe uofulu ma nima ʻae taʻu ʻo ʻene motuʻa ʻi heʻene kamata pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe hongofulu ma ono ʻi Selūsalema. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Silusa, ko e ʻofefine ʻo Satoki.
Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
34 Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae lelei ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova: naʻe fai ia ʻo hangē ko ia kotoa pē naʻe fai ʻe heʻene tamai ko ʻUsaia.
And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
35 Ka naʻe ʻikai siʻaki ʻae ngaahi potu māʻolunga: naʻe kei feilaulau mo tutu meʻa namu kakala ʻe he kakai ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻolunga. Naʻe langa ʻe ia ʻae matapā māʻolunga ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova.
Yet, the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
36 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Sotami, mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai, ʻikai kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta?
Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
37 ‌ʻI he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia naʻe kamata ueʻi ʻe Sihova ʻa Lisini ko e tuʻi ʻo Silia, mo Peka ko e foha ʻo Limalia ke na tauʻi ʻa Siuta.
In those days the LORD began to send against Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
38 Pea naʻe mohe ʻa Sotami mo ʻene ngaahi tamai, pea naʻe tanu ia mo ʻene ngaahi tamai ʻi he Kolo ʻo Tevita, ko ʻene tamai: pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe hono foha ko ʻAhasi.
And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: And Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
