1 Ko hono liunga tolu eni ʻo ʻeku ʻalu atu kiate kimoutolu. “ʻI he ngutu ʻoe fakamoʻoni ʻe toko ua pe toko tolu ʻe fakamoʻoni ʻae lea kotoa pē.”
This third time, am I coming unto you: —at the mouth of two witnesses, or three, shall every matter be established.
2 Kuo ʻosi ʻeku tala peau sinaki tala kiate kimoutolu, ʻo hangē kuo u ʻi ai, ko hono liunga ua; pea ʻi heʻeku mamaʻo ni, ʻoku ou tohi atu kiate kinautolu naʻe fai angahala ʻi muʻa, pea mo hono toe kotoa pē, kapau te u toe ʻalu atu, ʻe ʻikai te u fakasiʻisiʻi:
I have said beforehand, and do say beforehand, —as present the second time, although now absent, unto them who before sinned, and unto all the rest, —that, if I come again, I will not spare.
3 Koeʻuhi ʻoku mou kumi ʻae fakamoʻoni ki he lea ʻa Kalaisi ʻiate au, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai vaivai kiate kimoutolu, ka ʻoku mālohi ʻiate kimoutolu.
Since, a test, ye are seeking, of the speaking in me of Christ; —who, unto you, is not weak, but is powerful in you, —
4 He neongo naʻe tutuki ia ki he ʻakau ko e meʻa ʻi he vaivai, ka ʻoku moʻui ia ʻi he mālohi ʻoe ʻOtua. He ʻoku mau vaivai foki mo ia, ka temau moʻui mo ia ʻi he mālohi ʻoe ʻOtua kiate kimoutolu.
For, although he was crucified through weakness, yet is he living through God’s power, —for, although, we, are weak in him, yet shall we live with him, through God’s power [unto us]—
5 ʻEke kiate kimoutolu, pe ʻoku mou ʻi he tui; ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakimoutolu. ʻIkai ʻoku mou ʻilo, ʻoku nofoʻia ʻakimoutolu ʻe Sisu Kalaisi, ʻo kapau kuo ʻikai ʻahiʻahiʻi mo siʻaki ʻakimoutolu?
Be trying, yourselves, whether ye are in the faith, be putting, yourselves, to the test! Or do ye not recognise yourselves, seeing that, Jesus Christ, is in you, —unless perhaps ye fail in the testing.
6 Ka ʻoku ʻamusiaange ʻe au te mou ʻilo ʻoku ʻikai ko e kau siʻaki ʻakimautolu.
I hope, however, that ye shall come to know, that, we, fail not in the testing!
7 Ko eni, ʻoku mau kole ki he ʻOtua, ke ʻoua naʻa mou fai ha kovi; ʻo ʻikai pe ke fakaongolelei ai ʻakimautolu, ka koeʻuhi ke fai ʻekimoutolu ʻaia ʻoku angatonu, neongo ʻoku mau hangē ha kau kākā.
But we pray unto God, that ye may do nothing base, —not that, we, may appear, accepted, but that, ye, the honourable thing, may be doing, even though, we, should be, as it were, rejected;
8 He ʻoku ʻikai te mau faʻa fai ha meʻa ke angatuʻu ki he moʻoni, ka ke kau taha mo e moʻoni.
For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth;
9 He ʻoku mau fiefia, ʻoka mau ka vaivai, kae mālohi ʻakimoutolu: pea ko e meʻa foki ʻoku mau fakaʻamu ki ai, ko hoʻomou fakahaohaoa.
For we rejoice—whensoever, we, are weak, and, ye, are, strong. This, also we pray for—your restoration: —
10 Ko ia ʻoku ou tohi ai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻi heʻeku mamaʻo, telia naʻa ʻi heʻeku ʻi ai te u fai fakamamahi, ʻo fakatatau mo e mālohi kuo foaki ʻe he ʻEiki kiate au ke langa ʻaki hake, ka ʻikai ki he fakaʻauha.
For this cause, these things, while absent, am I writing, that I may not, when present, deal sharply—according to the authority which, the Lord, hath given me, for building up and not for pulling down.
11 Ko hono ngata, ʻe kāinga, siʻotoʻofa atu. Ke mou haohaoa, ke mou fiemālie, mou loto taha pe, mou moʻui melino; pea ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ʻofa mo e melino ʻe ʻiate kimoutolu ia.
Finally, brethren, farewell! Be getting restored, be taking encouragement, be of one mind, live in peace, —and, the God of love and peace, will be with you.
12 Ke mou fetoutou fekitaʻaki ʻae fekita māʻoniʻoni.
Salute ye one another with a holy kiss.
13 ʻOku ʻofa atu ʻae kāinga māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē kiate kimoutolu.
All the saints, salute you.
14 Ko e ʻaloʻofa ʻae ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, mo e ʻofa ʻae ʻOtua, mo e feohi ʻoe Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni, ke ʻiate kimoutolu kotoa pē. ʻEmeni.
The favour of our Lord Jesus [Christ], and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
