2 Meʻa Hokohoko 30

1 Pea naʻe fekau ʻe Hesekaia ki ʻIsileli kotoa pē mo Siuta, pea tohi ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi tohi foki ki ʻIfalemi mo Manase, koeʻuhi ke nau haʻu ki he fale ʻo Sihova ʻi Selūsalema, ke fai ʻa e [kātoanga ]ʻoe Lakaatu kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli.

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, to hold the passover to Jehovah the God of Israel.

2 He naʻe fakakaukau ʻe he tuʻi mo hono ngaahi houʻeiki, mo e fakataha kotoa ʻi Selūsalema, ke fai ʻa e [kātoanga ]ʻoe Lakaatu ʻi hono ua ʻoe māhina.

And the king took counsel, and his princes, and the whole congregation in Jerusalem, to hold the passover in the second month.

3 He naʻe ʻikai te nau faʻa fai ia ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia koeʻuhi naʻe teʻeki ai fakaʻosi ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki ʻae fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu ke lahi ki ai, pea naʻe teʻeki ai fakakātoa ʻakinautolu ʻe he kakai ki Selūsalema.

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not hallowed themselves in sufficient number, neither had the people been gathered together to Jerusalem.

4 Pea naʻe fiemālie ai ʻae tuʻi pea mo e kakai fakataha kotoa pē.

And the thing pleased the king and the whole congregation.

5 Pea naʻa nau tuʻutuʻuni ʻae fono ke fanongonongo kalanga ʻi ʻIsileli kotoa pē, mei Peasipa ki Tani, koeʻuhi ke nau haʻu ke fai ʻa e [kātoanga ]ʻoe Lakaatu kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli ʻi Selūsalema: he naʻe ʻikai te nau fai ia ʻo fuoloa ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe tohi.

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan, that they should come to hold the passover to Jehovah the God of Israel, at Jerusalem; because they had not held it for a long time as it was written.

6 Pea naʻe ʻalu ʻae kau ʻave tohi mo e ngaahi tohi mei he tuʻi mo hono houʻeiki ki he potu kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli mo Siuta, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻae tuʻi ʻo pehē, “ʻAe ngaahi fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, mou toe tafoki kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻEpalahame, mo ʻAisake, mo ʻIsileli pea ʻe tafoki mai ia kiate kimoutolu ʻoku toe, ʻakimoutolu kuo hao mei he nima ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia.

And the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, return to Jehovah the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 Pea ʻoua naʻa mou hangē ko hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, pea hangē ko homou ngaahi kāinga, ʻaia naʻe fai angahala kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai, pea naʻa ne tukuange ʻakinautolu ki he malaʻia, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻoku mou mamata ki ai.

And be not like your fathers and like your brethren, who transgressed against Jehovah the God of their fathers, so that he gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

8 Pea ko eni ke ʻoua naʻa mou kia kekeva, ʻo hangē ko hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, kae tukuange ʻakimoutolu kia Sihova, pea hū ki hono fale nofoʻanga, ʻaia naʻe fakatapui ke taʻengata: pea tauhi ʻa Sihova ko homou ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke tafoki hono houhau lahi meiate kimoutolu.

Now, harden not your necks, as your fathers; yield yourselves to Jehovah, and come to his sanctuary, which he has sanctified for ever; and serve Jehovah your God, that the fierceness of his anger may turn away from you.

9 He kapau te mou toe tafoki kia Sihova, ʻe ʻilo ʻe homou ngaahi kāinga mo hoʻomou fānau ʻae angaʻofa ʻi he ʻao ʻokinautolu naʻe taki ʻo fakapōpulaʻi ʻakinautolu, ko ia te nau toe haʻu ai ki he fonua ni: he ko Sihova ko homou ʻOtua ʻoku angalelei ia mo angaʻofa, pea ʻe ʻikai te ne kalofaki hono fofonga meiate kimoutolu, ʻo kapau te mou tafoki kiate ia.”

For if ye return to Jehovah, your brethren and your children shall find compassion with those that have carried them captive, so that they shall come again unto this land; for Jehovah your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return to him.

10 Ko ia naʻe ʻalu ai ʻae kau ʻave tohi mei he kolo ki he kolo ʻi he fonua kotoa pē ʻo ʻIfalemi mo Manase, ʻio, ʻo aʻu atu ki Sepuloni: ka naʻa nau kata manuki kiate kinautolu, pea taukae ʻakinautolu.

And the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, even to Zebulun; but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

11 Ka naʻe ai ʻae niʻihi ʻi ʻAseli mo Manase, mo Sepuloni, naʻa nau fakavaivai ʻakinautolu, pea haʻu ki Selūsalema.

Nevertheless certain of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

12 Pea naʻe ʻi Siuta foki ʻae nima ʻoe ʻOtua ke foaki kiate kinautolu ʻae loto taha ke fai ʻae fekau ʻae tuʻi mo e houʻeiki, ʻi he folofola ʻa Sihova.

The hand of God was also upon Judah to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of Jehovah.

13 Pea naʻe fakakātoa ʻi Selūsalema ʻae fuʻu kakai lahi ke fai ʻae kātoanga ʻoe mā taʻefakalēvani ʻi hono ua ʻoe māhina, ko e fakataha lahi ʻaupito.

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to hold the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

14 Pea naʻa nau tuʻu hake ʻo fetuku ʻo liʻaki ʻae ngaahi feilaulauʻanga naʻe ʻi Selūsalema, pea nau ʻave ke mamaʻo ʻae ngaahi feilaulauʻanga ʻoe meʻa namu kakala, ʻo liʻaki ia ki he vaitafe ko Kitiloni.

And they rose up and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem; and they took away all the incense-altars, and cast them into the torrent Kidron.

15 Pea naʻa nau toki tāmateʻi ʻa e [manu ʻoe ]Lakaatu ʻi hono hongofulu ma fā ʻoe ʻaho ʻi hono ua ʻoe māhina: pea naʻe maʻae kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai, ʻonau fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu, ʻonau ʻomi ʻae ngaahi feilaulau tutu ki he fale ʻo Sihova.

And they slaughtered the passover on the fourteenth of the second month; and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and hallowed themselves; and they brought the burnt-offerings into the house of Jehovah.

16 Pea naʻa nau tuʻu ʻi honau potu ʻo taau mo honau anga, ʻo fakatatau ki he fekau ʻa Mōsese ko e tangata ʻae ʻOtua: naʻe luluku ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki ʻae toto, ʻaia naʻa nau maʻu mei he nima ʻoe kau Livai.

And they stood in their place after their custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood [receiving it] from the hand of the Levites.

17 He naʻe ʻi ai ʻae tokolahi ʻi he fakataha naʻe ʻikai fakamaʻa: ko ia naʻe ʻi he kau Livai ʻae fekau ki he tāmateʻi ʻoe ngaahi [manu ʻoe ]Lakaatu, maʻanautolu kotoa pē naʻe ʻikai maʻa, ke fakatapui ʻakinautolu kia Sihova.

For there were many in the congregation that were not hallowed; therefore the Levites had the charge of the slaughtering of the passover-lambs for every one not clean, to hallow them unto Jehovah.

18 He ko e kakai tokolahi, ʻio, ʻae tokolahi ʻo ʻIfalemi, mo Manase, mo ʻIsaka, mo Sepuloni, naʻe teʻeki ai te nau fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu, ka naʻa nau kai ʻae Lakaatu kae ʻikai hangē ko ia kuo tohi. Ka naʻe lotua ʻakinautolu ʻe Hesekaia, ʻo pehē, “ʻE Sihova lelei fakamolemolea ʻakinautolu kotoa pē,

For a multitude of the people, many of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, and they ate the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them saying, Jehovah, who is good, forgive every one

19 ‌ʻOku teuteu honau loto ke kumi ki he ʻOtua, ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻene ngaahi tamai, ka ʻoku teʻeki ai fakamaʻa ia ʻo fakatatau ki he fakamaʻa ʻoe fale nofoʻanga.”

that has directed his heart to seek God, Jehovah the God of his fathers, although not according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 Pea naʻe tokanga ʻe Sihova kia Hesekaia, ʻo ne fakamoʻui ʻae kakai.

And Jehovah hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

21 Pea naʻe fai ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli naʻe ʻi Selūsalema ʻae kātoanga ʻoe mā taʻefakalēvani ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fitu ʻi he fiefia lahi: pea naʻe fakaongo lelei ʻa Sihova ʻe he kau Livai mo e kau taulaʻeiki ʻi he ʻaho hokohoko pe, ʻi he hiva mo e meʻa faiva leʻo lahi kia Sihova.

And the children of Israel, that were present at Jerusalem, held the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised Jehovah day by day, with the instruments of praise to Jehovah.

22 Pea naʻe lea fakafiemālie ʻe Hesekaia ki he kau Livai kotoa pē naʻe akonaki ʻi he ʻilo lelei ʻo Sihova: pea naʻa nau kai kotoa pē lolotonga ʻae kātoanga ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fitu, ʻo ʻatu ʻae ngaahi feilaulau fakalelei, ʻo fai ʻenau vete kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻenau ngaahi tamai.

And Hezekiah spoke consolingly to all the Levites that had understanding in the good knowledge of Jehovah; and they ate the feast-offerings the seven days, sacrificing peace-offerings, and extolling Jehovah the God of their fathers.

23 Pea naʻe alea fakataha ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ke toe tauhi mo e ʻaho ʻe fitu: pea naʻa nau tauhi ʻae ʻaho kehe ʻe fitu ʻi he fiefia.

And the whole congregation took counsel to observe other seven days; and they observed the seven days with gladness.

24 He naʻe foaki ʻe Hesekaia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta ki he kakai fakataha ʻae fanga pulu ʻe taha afe, mo e sipi ʻe fitu afe: pea foaki ʻe he houʻeiki ki he kakai fakataha ʻae fanga pulu ʻe taha afe mo e sipi ʻe taha mano: pea naʻe fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki tokolahi.

For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the congregation as heave-offering: a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep; and a great number of priests hallowed themselves.

25 Pea naʻe fiefia ʻae fakataha kotoa pē ʻo Siuta, fakataha mo e kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai, pea mo e kakai fakataha kotoa pē naʻe haʻu mei he fonua ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻonau nofo ʻi Siuta.

And the whole congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

26 Ko ia naʻe ʻi Selūsalema ʻae fiefia lahi: he talu mei he kuonga ʻo Solomone ko e foha ʻo Tevita ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli naʻe ʻikai ha meʻa pehē ʻi Selūsalema.

And there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, there had not been the like in Jerusalem.

27 Pea naʻe toki tuʻu hake ʻae kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai ʻonau tāpuakiʻi ʻae kakai: pea naʻe ongoʻi honau leʻo, pea naʻe aʻu atu ʻenau lotu ki hono ʻafioʻanga māʻoniʻoni, ʻi he langi.

And the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people; and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, to the heavens.
