1 Timote 6

1 Ke pehē ʻe he kau tamaioʻeiki kotoa pē ʻoku moʻulaloa ki he haʻamonga, ʻoku totonu ke tuku ki honau houʻeiki ʻae fakaʻapaʻapa kotoa pē, telia naʻa fakaongokovi ʻae huafa ʻoe ʻOtua mo [ʻene ]akonaki.

Let the servants so many as are under the yoke, esteem those who are their masters worthy of all honor, in order that the name and doctrine of God may not be blasphemed.

2 Pea ko kinautolu ʻoku ai honau ʻeiki ʻoku tui, ʻoua naʻa nau taʻefakaʻapaʻapa ki ai, koeʻuhi ʻoku nau kāinga; ka ke ʻāsili ai ʻenau ngaue, koeʻuhi ʻoku nau angatonu mo ʻofeina, ʻonau kau ʻi he lelei. Ko e ngaahi meʻa ni ke ke ako mo enginaki ʻaki.

But let those that have faithful masters not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather let them serve them, because they are the faithful and beloved who are partaking of the benefaction. Command these things and exhort them.

3 Kapau ʻoku ako kehe ʻe ha taha, pea ʻikai loto ia ki he ngaahi lea lelei, ʻae ngaahi lea ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi, pea ki he akonaki ʻaia ʻoku taau mo e angafakaʻotua;

If any one teaches another doctrine, and does not give heed to the sound words which belonged to our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 ‌ʻOku fielahi ia, ʻo taʻeʻilo ha meʻa, ka ʻoku mahaki ʻaki ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi fehuʻi mo e ngaahi fakakikihi lea, ʻaia ʻoku tupu ai ʻae meheka, mo e fekeʻikeʻi, mo e felauʻikoviʻaki, mo e femahalokoviʻaki.

he has been inflated, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and controversies, from which come envy, strife, blasphemies, evil surmisings,

5 Mo e fefakakikihikoviʻaki ʻae kau tangata loto kovi, pea taʻemaʻu ʻae moʻoni, ʻoku nau mahalo ko ia ʻe koloaʻia ai ko e lotu ia; ke ke mavahe koe mei he kakai pehē.

wranglings of men having been corrupted as to their mind and turned away from the truth, considering that gain is godliness.

6 Ka ko e angafakaʻotua mo e loto fiemālie, ko e koloa lahi ia.

Godliness with contentment is great gain,

7 He naʻe ʻikai te tau omi ha meʻa ki he māmani, pea kuo pau ʻe ʻikai te tau faʻa ʻave ai ha meʻa.

for because we have brought nothing into the world, we are not able to carry any thing out;

8 Pea ʻi heʻetau maʻu ʻae meʻakai mo e kofu ke tau fiemālie ai.

however having food and raiment we shall be contented with these.

9 Ka ko kinautolu ʻoku holi ke koloaʻia, ʻoku nau tō ki he ʻahiʻahi mo e tauhele, mo e ngaahi holi vale lahi mo fakamamahi, ʻaia ʻoku lōmakiʻi ʻae kakai ki he malaʻia mo e mate fakaʻauha.

But those wishing to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown the people in destruction and perdition.

10 He ko e ʻofa ki he koloa, ko e tefito ia ʻoe kovi kotoa pē: ʻaia ʻi he manumanu feinga ki ai ʻae niʻihi, kuo nau hē mei he tui, pea kuo nau hokahokaʻi ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻae ngaahi mamahi lahi.

For the love of money is a root of all evils: which some seeking after have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 Ka ko koe, ʻae tangata ʻoe ʻOtua, puna mei he ngaahi meʻa ni; pea ke tuli ki he māʻoniʻoni, mo e angafakaʻotua, mo e tui, mo e ʻofa, mo e faʻa kātaki, mo e angavaivai.

But you, O man of God, fly from these things; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, divine love, patience, meekness.

12 Tau ʻae tau lelei ʻoe tui, puke ke maʻu ʻae moʻui taʻengata, ʻaia kuo ui foki koe ki ai, pea kuo ke fakahā ʻae fakamoʻoni lelei ʻi he ʻao ʻoe fakamoʻoni tokolahi. (aiōnios g166)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, into which you have been called, and witnessed a beautiful testimony before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)

13 ‌ʻOku ou fekau kiate koe, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku ne fakaake ʻae meʻa kotoa pē, mo e ʻao ʻo Kalaisi Sisu, ʻaia naʻa ne fakamoʻoni ʻi he [ʻao ]ʻo Ponito Pailato ʻae fakahā lelei;

I charge you before God, who creates life in all things, and Jesus Christ, who witnessed a beautiful testimony before Pontius Pilate,

14 Ke ke tauhi ʻae fekau ni ʻo taʻemele, pea taʻevalokia, ʻo aʻu ki he fakahā mai ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:

that you keep the commandment, spotless and pure, unto the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 ‌ʻAia te ne fakahā ʻi hono kuonga ʻoʻona, ko e ʻEiki monūʻia, mo taha pe, ko e Tuʻi ki he ngaahi tui, mo e ʻEiki ki he ngaahi ʻeiki;

which the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of the kings, and Lord of the lords, will manifest in his own due times;

16 ‌ʻAia ʻoku ʻi ai tokotaha pe ʻae taʻefaʻamate, ʻoku nofoʻia ʻe ia ʻae maama taʻefaʻafotuaki; ʻaia kuo teʻeki mamata ki ai ha tangata, pea ʻikai siʻi te ne faʻa mamata ki ai: ke ʻiate ia ʻae fakaʻapaʻapa mo e mālohi ʻo taʻengata. ʻEmeni. (aiōnios g166)

he alone having immortality, inhabiting light unapproachable; whom no one of men has seen, or is able to see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen. (aiōnios g166)

17 Fekau kiate kinautolu ʻoku koloaʻia ʻi māmani, ke ʻoua naʻa nau loto viki, pe falala ki he koloa tolu ke tau fiemālie ai; (aiōn g165)

Charge the rich in this world not to think high things, nor to hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who richly supplies us all things for our enjoyment; (aiōn g165)

18 Ke nau fai lelei, ke lahi ʻenau ngaahi ngaue lelei, ʻo fie tufaki, ʻo anga fie tokoni;

that they do good, be rich in good works, be cheerful givers, ready communicators;

19 Pea nau tokonaki maʻanautolu ʻae tuʻunga lelei ki he kuonga ʻe hoko, koeʻuhi ke nau puke ki he moʻui taʻengata.

laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold on the life which is life indeed.

20 E Timote, ke ke puke ʻaia kuo tuku kiate koe ke tauhi, mo ke tapu ʻi he ngaahi papūnoa mo launoa, mo e akonaki angatuʻu, ʻoku ui loi pe “ko e poto.”

O Timothy, stand guard over that which has been committed to you, avoiding unsanctified, empty talks and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called,

21 ‌ʻAia ʻi he tokanga ki ai ʻae niʻihi, kuo nau hē mei he tui. Ke ʻiate koe ʻae ʻaloʻofa. ʻEmeni.

which some proclaiming have made shipwreck concerning the faith. Grace be with you.
