< 1 Tuʻi 19 >

1 Pea naʻe fakahā ʻe ʻEhapi kia Sisipeli ʻae meʻa kotoa pē naʻe fai ʻe ʻIlaisiā, pea mo ʻene tāmate ʻae kau kikite kotoa pē ʻaki ʻae heletā.
Forsothe Achab telde to Jezabel alle thingis whiche Elie hadde do, and how he hadde slayn by swerd alle the prophetis of Baal.
2 Pea naʻe toki fekau atu ha talafekau ʻe Sisipeli kia ʻIlaisiā, ke ne pehē, “Ke fai pehē pe kiate au ʻe he ngaahi ʻotua, pea lahi hake foki, ʻo kapau ʻe ʻikai te u fakatatau ʻa hoʻo moʻui ʻaʻau mo e moʻui ʻa ha taha ʻiate kinautolu, ʻi he feituʻulaʻā ni ʻapongipongi.”
And Jezabel sente a messanger to Elie, and seide, Goddis do these thingis to me, and adde these thingis, no but to morewe in this our Y schal putte thi lijf as the lijf of oon of hem.
3 Pea ʻi heʻene mamata ki ai, naʻa ne tuʻu hake, mo ne hola ke ne moʻui, pea ne haʻu ki Peasipa ʻaia ʻoku ʻi Siuta, ʻo ne tuku ʻi ai ʻa ʻene tamaioʻeiki.
Therfor Elie dredde, and roos, and yede whidur euer wille bar hym; and he cam in to Bersabe of Juda, and he lefte there his child;
4 Ka ka ʻalu pe ia ki he toafa ko e fonongaʻanga ʻoe ʻaho ʻe taha, pea ne haʻu ʻo nofo hifo ʻi he lolo ʻakau ko e sunipa: pea naʻa ne kole maʻana ke ne mate; ʻo ne pehē, “Kuo lahi, ʻE Sihova, toʻo atu eni ʻa ʻeku moʻui: he ʻoku ʻikai te u lelei lahi hake au ʻi heʻeku ngaahi tamai.”
and yede in to deseert, the weie of o dai. And whanne he cam, and sat vndir o iunypere tre, he axide to his soule, that he schulde die; and he seide, Lord, it suffisith to me, take my soule; for Y am not betere than my fadris.
And he castide forth hym silf, and slepte in the schadewe of the iunypere tree. And lo! the aungel of the Lord touchide hym, and seide to hym, Rise thou, and ete.
6 Pea naʻa ne sio, pea vakai, ko e foʻi mā naʻe tunu ʻi he funga fefie, pea tuʻu ofi ha ipu vai ki hono ʻolunga. “Pea naʻa ne kai mo inu, pea toe tokoto ia ki lalo.”
He bihelde, and, lo! at his heed was a loof bakun vndur aischis, and a vessel of watir. Therfor he ete, and drank, and slepte eft.
7 Pea naʻe toe haʻu ʻae ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova ko hono liunga ua, ʻo ala kiate ia, ʻo ne pehē, “Tuʻu hake ʻo kai; he ʻoku lōloa fau ʻae hala kiate koe.”
And the aungel of the Lord turnede ayen the secounde tyme, and touchide hym; and `the aungel seide to hym, Rise thou, and ete; for a greet weie is to thee.
8 Pea naʻa ne tuʻu hake, mo ne kai mo inu, pea naʻa ne ʻalu ʻi he mālohi ʻoe meʻakai ko ia ʻi he ʻaho ʻe fāngofulu mo e pō ʻe fāngofulu ki Holepi ko e moʻunga ʻoe ʻOtua.
And whanne he hadde rise, he ete, and drank; and he yede in the strengthe of that mete bi fourti dayes and fourti nyytis, `til to Oreb, the hil of God.
9 Pea naʻa ne ʻomi ai ki ha ʻanaʻi maka, ʻo ne nofo ai; pea vakai naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate ia, pea naʻa ne pehē kiate ia, “Ko e hā ʻoku ke fai ʻi heni, ʻIlaisiā?”
And whanne he hadde come thidur, he dwellide in a denne; and lo! the word of the Lord `was maad to him, and seide to hym, Elie, what doist thou here?
10 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Naʻaku loto feinga ʻaupito koeʻuhi ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi tokolahi: he kuo liʻaki hoʻo fuakava ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, pea kuo lī hifo hoʻo ngaahi feilaulauʻanga, pea nau tāmateʻi ʻa hoʻo kau palōfita ʻaki ʻae heletā; pea ko au, ʻio, ko au tokotaha pe ʻoku toe; pea ʻoku nau kumi ʻa ʻeku moʻui, ke toʻo atu ia.”
And he answeride, Bi feruent loue Y louede feruentli, for the Lord God of oostis; for the sones of Israel forsoken the couenaunt of the Lord; thei destrieden thin auters, and killiden bi swerd thi prophetis; and Y am left aloone, and thei seken my lijf, that thei do it awei.
11 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Ke ke ʻalu atu, mo ke tuʻu ʻi he funga moʻunga ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova. Pea vakai, naʻe hāʻele atu ʻa Sihova, pea naʻe mafahifahi ʻae moʻunga ʻe he matangi mālohi, pea ne fakamomomomoiiki ʻae ngaahi maka ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova; ka naʻe ʻikai ʻi he matangi ʻa Sihova: pea hili ʻae matangi naʻe mofuike; ka naʻe ʻikai ʻi he mofuike ʻa Sihova:
And he seide to Elie, Go thou out, and stonde in the hil, bifor the Lord. And lo! the Lord passith, and a greet wynde, and strong, turnynge vpsodoun hillis, and al to brekinge stonys bifor the Lord; not in the wynde ys the Lord. And aftir the wynd is a stirynge; not in the stiryng is the Lord.
12 Pea hili ʻae mofuike ko e afi; ka naʻe ʻikai ʻi he afi ʻa Sihova: pea hili ʻae afi naʻe ʻi ai ʻae kihiʻi leʻo mālie.”
And aftir the stiryng is fier; not in the fier is the Lord. And aftir the fier is the issyng of thinne wynd; there is the Lord.
13 Pea pehē, ʻi heʻene fanongo ki ai ʻa ʻIlaisiā, naʻa ne fakapulou hono mata ʻaki ʻa hono pulupulu, mo ne ʻalu atu ʻo tuʻu ʻi he hūʻanga ʻoe ʻana. Pea vakai, ko e leʻo naʻe pehē mai kiate ia, “Ko e hā ʻoku ke fai ʻi heni ʻIlaisiā?”
And whanne Elie hadde herd this, he hilide his face with a mentil, and he yede out, and stood in the dore of the denne. And a vois spak to hym, and seide, Elie, what doist thou here?
14 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ia, “Naʻaku loto feinga ʻaupito koeʻuhi ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi tokolahi: koeʻuhi kuo liʻaki hoʻo fuakava ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, pea kuo lī hifo hoʻo ngaahi feilaulauʻanga, pea tāmateʻi hoʻo kau palōfita ʻaki ʻae heletā; pea ko au, ʻio, ko au tokotaha pe ʻoku kei toe; pea ʻoku nau kumi ʻa ʻeku moʻui, ke toʻo atu ia.”
And he answeride, Bi feruent loue Y louede feruentli, for the Lord God of oostis; for the sones of Israel forsoken thi couenaunt; thei distrieden thin auteris, and thei killiden bi swerd thi prophetis; and Y am left aloone, and thei seken my lijf, that thei do it awey.
15 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate ia, “Ke ke ʻalu, toe foki atu ʻi ho hala ki he toafa ʻo Tamasikusi; pea ʻoka ke ka hoko ange, tākai ʻaki ʻae lolo ʻa Hasaeli ke ne tuʻi ʻi Silia:
And the Lord seide to hym, Go, and turne ayen in to thi weie, bi the deseert, in to Damask; and whanne thou schalt come thidur, thou schalt anoynte Asahel kyng on Sirie;
16 Pea ko Sehu ko e foha ʻo Nimisi te ke tākai ʻaki ʻae lolo ke ne tuʻi ʻi ʻIsileli: pea ko ʻIlaisa ko e foha ʻo Safati mei ʻEpeli-Mihola, te ke tākai ʻaki ʻae lolo ke hoko ko e palōfita ke ne fetongi koe.
and thou schalt anoynte kyng on Israel Hieu, the sone of Namsi; sotheli thou schalt anoynte prophete for thee, Elise, sone of Saphat, which is of Abelmeula.
17 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ‘Ko ia ia ʻe hao moʻui mei he heletā ʻa Hasaeli ʻe tāmateʻi ia ʻe Sehu: pea ko ia ʻe hao moʻui mei he heletā ʻa Sehu ʻe tāmateʻi ʻe ʻIlaisa.’
And it schal be, who euer schal fle the swerd of Asahel, Hieu schal sle hym; and who euer schal fle the swerd of Hieu, Elise schal sle hym.
18 Ka te u tuku ha toko fitu afe ʻapē kuo ʻikai mapelu kia Peali, pea mo e ngutu kotoa pē kuo ʻikai ʻuma kiate ia.”
And Y schal leeue to me in Israel seuene thousynde of men, of whiche the knees ben not bowid bifor Baal, and ech mouth that worschipide not hym, and kisside hond.
19 Ko ia naʻe ʻalu ia mei he potu ko ia, mo ne maʻu atu ʻa ʻIlaisa ko e foha ʻo Safati, lolotonga ʻa ʻene keli ngoue ʻaki ʻae tauluaʻi [pulu ]ʻe hongofulu ma ua ʻi hono ʻao, ka naʻe tuʻu ia mo ia ki mui: pea naʻe ʻalu ange ʻa ʻIlaisiā ʻi hono tafaʻaki ʻo ne lī atu ʻa hono pulupulu kiate ia.
Therfor Elie yede forth fro thennus, and foond Elise, sone of Saphat, erynge in twelue yockis of oxis; and he was oon in the twelue yockis of oxys, erynge. And whanne Elie hadde come to hym, Elie castide his mentil on hym.
Pea naʻa ne pehēange kiate ia, “Toe foki atu pe: he ko e hā ha meʻa kuo u fai kiate koe?”
Which ran anoon after Elie, whanne the oxis weren left, and seide, Y preie thee, kysse Y my fadir and my modir, and so Y schal sue thee. And Elie seide to hym, Go thou, and turne ayen, for Y haue do to thee that that was myn.
21 Pea naʻa ne toe foki atu meiate ia, mo ne ʻave ʻae tauluaʻi pulu, mo ne tāmateʻi ia, pea naʻa ne haka hona kakano ʻaki ʻae nāunau ʻoe fanga pulu, pea naʻa ne ʻatu ki he kakai ke nau kai. Pea hili ia naʻa ne tuʻu hake, mo ne muimui kia ʻIlaisiā, ʻo ne tauhi kiate ia.
`Sotheli he turnede ayen fro Elie, and took tweine oxis, and killide hem; and with the plow of oxis he sethide the fleischis, and yaf to the puple, and thei eeten; and he roos, and yede, and suede Elie, and `mynystride to hym.
