Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,

and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz,

and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan,

and Johanan begot Azariah (he is it that exercised the priesthood in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem);

and Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,

and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum,

and Shallum begot Hilkijah, and Hilkijah begot Azariah,

and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak,

and Jehozadak went away, when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Pea ko e ngaahi foha eni ʻo Kohate, ko ʻAmilami mo ʻIsa, mo Hepeloni, pea mo ʻUsili.

And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Melali; ko Mali, mo Musi. Pea ko e ngaahi faʻahinga eni ʻoe kau Livai ʻo fakatatau mo ʻenau ngaahi tamai.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of Levi according to their fathers.

20 ‌ʻIa Kesomi; ko Lipinai ko hono foha, mo Sehati ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Sima ko hono foha ʻoʻona,

Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 Mo Soa ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Ito ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Selaa ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Siatelai ko hono foha ʻoʻona.

The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Saul his son.

And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.

Elkanah, — the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

And the sons of Samuel: the firstborn Vashni and Abijah.

29 Ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Melali; ko Mali, mo Lipinai ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Simi ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Usa ko hono foha ʻoʻona,

The sons of Merari: Mahli; Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah after that the ark was in rest.

And they ministered before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting with singing, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem; and they attended to their office according to their order.

And these are they that attended, and their sons: Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

35 Ko e foha ʻo Sufi, ko e foha ʻo ʻElikena, ko e foha ʻo Mehati, ko e foha ʻo ʻAmasai,

the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 Ko e foha ʻo ʻElikena, ko e foha ʻo Soeli, ko e foha ʻo ʻAsalia, ko e foha ʻo Sefania,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

37 Ko e foha ʻo Tehati, ko e foha ʻo ʻAsili, ko e foha ʻo Epiasafi, ko e foha ʻo Kola,

the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 Ko e foha ʻo ʻIsa, ko e foha ʻo Kohate, ko e foha ʻo Livai, ko e foha ʻo ʻIsileli.

the son of Jizhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 Pea ko hono tokoua ko ʻAsafi, ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ki hono nima toʻomataʻu, ʻio, ʻa ʻAsafi ko e foha ʻo Pelekia ko e foha ʻo Simia,

And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand: Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

43 Ko e foha ʻo Sehati, ko e foha ʻo Kesomi, ko e foha ʻo Livai.

the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 Pea naʻe tutuʻu ʻa honau ngaahi tokoua ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Melali ki he nima toʻohema: ko Etani ko e foha ʻo Kisi, ko e foha ʻo ʻApiti, ko e foha ʻo Maluki,

And their brethren the sons of Merari were on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 Ko e foha ʻo Hesapia, ko e foha ʻo ʻAmasia, ko e foha ʻo Hilikia,

the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkijah,

46 Ko e foha ʻo ʻAmisi, ko e foha ʻo Pani, ko e foha ʻo Sameli,

the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

47 Ko e foha ʻo Mali, ko e foha ʻo Musi, ko e foha ʻo Melali, ko e foha ʻo Livai.

the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Naʻe fakanofo foki ʻa honau kāinga ko e kau Livai ki he ngāue kehekehe ʻi he fale fehikitaki ʻoe fale ʻoe ʻOtua.

And their brethren the Levites were given for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 Ka naʻe fai feilaulau ʻe ʻElone pea mo hono ngaahi foha ʻi he funga feilaulauʻanga ʻoe feilaulau tutu, pea mo e feilaulauʻanga ʻoe meʻa namu kakala, mo e ngāue kotoa pē ʻoe potu toputapu ʻaupito, pea ke fai ha fakalelei koeʻuhi ko ʻIsileli; ʻo fakatatau mo ia kotoa pē naʻe fekauʻi ʻe Mōsese ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻae ʻOtua.

And Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 Mo Milaioti ko hono foha, mo ʻAmalia ko hono foha, mo ʻAhitupe ko hono foha,

53 Ko Satoki ko hono foha, mo ʻAhimeasi ko hono foha.

Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 Pea ko eni ia ʻa honau ngaahi nofoʻanga ʻi honau ngaahi kolo mālohi ʻo honau fonua, ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone, mo e ngaahi faʻahinga ʻoe kakai Kohate: he naʻe ʻonautolu ʻae tohi ʻoe talotalo.

And these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments, within their borders. For the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathites, for theirs was the lot;

55 Pea naʻa nau foaki ʻa Hepeloni kiate kinautolu ʻi he fonua ʻo Siuta, pea mo e ngaahi potu naʻe tuʻu takatakai ʻo ofi ki ai.

and they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs round about it;

56 Ka ko e ngaahi ngoue ʻoe kolo, mo hono ngaahi potu kakai siʻi, naʻa nau foaki ia kia Kelepi ko e foha ʻo Sifune.

but the fields of the city, and the hamlets thereof gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57 Pea ki he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone naʻa nau foaki ʻae ngaahi kolo ʻo Siuta, ʻio, ʻa Hepeloni, ko e [kolo ]hūfanga, mo Lipina mo hono ngaahi potu ofi ʻo ia, mo Satili, mo Esitimoa, mo honau ngaahi potu ofi,

And to the children of Aaron they gave the city of refuge, Hebron; and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,

58 Mo Heleni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Tipa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and Hilen and its suburbs, Debir and its suburbs,

59 Mo ʻAsani mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Pete-Semesi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

and Ashan and its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh and its suburbs;

60 Pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Penisimani; ko Kepa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo ʻAlemeti mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo ʻAnatoti mo hono ngaahi potu ofi. Ko honau ngaahi kolo ki honau faʻahinga kotoa pē ko e kolo ʻe hongofulu ma tolu.

and, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba and its suburbs, and Allemeth and its suburbs, and Anathoth and its suburbs: all their cities, thirteen cities, according to their families.

61 Pea [naʻe foaki ]ʻae kolo ʻe hongofulu ʻo tatau mo e tohi ʻoe talotalo, mei hono vaheua ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Manase, ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate, ʻakinautolu naʻe kei toe ʻi he fānau ʻoe faʻahinga ko ia.

And to the children of Kohath that remained [were given] by lot out of the families of the tribe [of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan and] of the half tribe, half Manasseh, ten cities.

62 Pea [naʻe foaki ]ʻae kolo ʻe hongofulu ma tolu ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Kesomi ʻi honau ngaahi faʻahinga kotoa pē, mei he faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsaka, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo ʻAseli, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Nafitali, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Manase ʻi Pesani.

And to the children of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 [Naʻe foaki ]ʻae kolo ʻe hongofulu ma ua ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Melali ʻi he talotalo, ki honau ngaahi faʻahinga, mei he faʻahinga ʻo Lupeni, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Kata, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Sepuloni.

To the children of Merari [were given] by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 Pea naʻe foaki ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ki he kau Livai ʻae ngaahi kolo ni mo e ngaahi potu ofi ki ai.

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs.

65 Pea naʻa nau foaki ʻi he talotalo, mei he faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Siuta, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Simione, pea mei he faʻahinga ʻoe fānau ʻa Penisimani, ʻae ngaahi kolo ko eni, ʻaia ʻoku ui ʻaki ʻa honau hingoa.

And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which were mentioned by name.

66 Pea ko hono toe ʻoe ngaahi faʻahinga ʻoe ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate naʻe ʻonautolu ʻae ngaahi kolo ʻo honau fonua mei he faʻahinga ʻo ʻIfalemi.

And to the families of the children of Kohath who had the cities of their territory out of the tribe of Ephraim,

67 Pea naʻa nau foaki kiate kinautolu, mei he ngaahi kolo hūfanga, ʻa Sikemi ʻi he moʻunga ko ʻIfalemi mo e ngaahi potu ofi ki ai; pea [naʻa nau foaki ]foki ʻa Kesa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

they gave the city of refuge, Shechem and its suburbs in mount Ephraim; and Gezer and its suburbs,

68 Mo Sokimiami mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Pete-Holoni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and Jokmeam and its suburbs, and Beth-horon and its suburbs,

69 Pea mo ʻAsaloni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Kati-Limoni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

and Ajalon and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs;

70 Pea mei hono vaheua ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Manase; ko ʻAneli mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Piliami mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, ki he fānau naʻe toe ʻoe ngaahi foha ʻo Kohate.

and out of the half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, and Bileam and its suburbs, — for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

71 [Naʻe foaki ]ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Kesomi mei he fānau ʻoe vaheua ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Manase, ʻa Kolani ʻi Pesani mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo ʻAsitelote mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

To the children of Gershom [were given] out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth and its suburbs;

72 Pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsaka; ko Ketesi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Tapilati mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its suburbs, Dobrath and its suburbs,

73 Mo Lemoti mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo ʻAnemi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

and Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem and its suburbs;

74 Pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo ʻAseli; ko Masali mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo ʻApitoni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and its suburbs, and Abdon and its suburbs,

75 Mo Hukoki mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Lehopi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

and Hukok and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs;

76 Pea mei he faʻahinga ʻo Nafitali; ko Ketesi ʻi Kāleli mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Hamoni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Kesatemi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi.

and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammon and its suburbs, and Kirjathaim and its suburbs.

77 Pea ki hono toe ʻoe fānau ʻa Melali [naʻe foaki ]mei he faʻahinga ʻa Sepuloni, ʻa Limoni mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Tepoa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

To the children of Merari that remained [were given] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono and its suburbs, [and] Tabor and its suburbs;

78 Pea ʻi he kau vai ʻe taha ʻo Soatani ʻo ofi ki Seliko, ʻi he kau vai ʻa Soatani ki he feituʻu hahake, [naʻe ]foaki mei he faʻahinga ʻa Lupeni, ʻa Peseli ʻi he toafa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Sasa mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and its suburbs, and Jahzah and its suburbs,

79 Ko Ketimote foki mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Mefata mo hono ngaahi potu ofi:

and Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs;

80 Pea mei he faʻahinga ʻa Kata; ko Lemoti ʻi Kiliati mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Mehanemi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi,

and out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

81 Mo Hesiponi mo hono ngaahi potu ofi, mo Saseli mo hono ngaahi potu ofi.

and Heshbon and its suburbs, and Jaazer and its suburbs.
