The sons of Judah: Pherez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

2 Pea naʻe tupu ʻia Liaia ko e foha ʻo Sopale ʻa Seati; pea naʻe tupu ʻia Seati ʻa ʻEhumai, mo Lehati. Ko kinautolu eni ʻae faʻahinga ʻoe kakai Sola.

And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath; and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zoreathites.

— And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

And Koz begot Anub, and Hazzobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

And Jabez was more honoured than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with pain.

— And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath.

14 Pea naʻe tupu ʻia Meonotei ʻa Ofila: pea naʻe tupu ʻia Selaia ʻa Soape, ko e tamai ʻoe kakai ʻoe potu talalo ʻo Kalasimi; he ko e kau tufunga ʻakinautolu.

And Meonothai begot Ophrah: and Seraiah begot Joab, the father of the valley of craftsmen; for they were craftsmen.

15 Pea ko e ngaahi foha eni ʻo Kelepi ko e foha ʻo Sifune; ko Ilu, mo Ela, mo Naʻami: pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Ela, ʻio, ʻa Kinasi.

— And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah, ...and Kenaz.

16 Pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Sihalelili; ko Sifi, mo Sifa, mo Tilia, mo Esalili.

— And the sons of Jehalleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asareel.

17 Pea ko e ngaahi foha eni ʻo Esela, ko Seteli, mo Meleti, mo ʻEfeli, mo Saloni: pea naʻe fanauʻi ʻe ia ʻa Miliame, mo Samei, pea mo Isipa ko e tamai ʻa Esitimoa.

— And the sons of Ezra: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she conceived [and bore] Miriam, and Shammai, and Jishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 Pea naʻe fanauʻi ʻe hono uaifi mei he kakai Siuta ʻa Seleti ko e tamai ʻa Kitoa, mo Hepa ko e tamai ʻa Soko, mo Sikutili ko e tamai ʻa Sanoa. Pea ko e ngaahi tama eni ʻo Pitia ko e ʻofefine ʻa Felo, ʻaia naʻe mali mo Meleti.

21 Pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Sela ko e foha ʻo Siuta, ko ʻEa ko e tamai ʻa Leka, mo Lata ko e tamai ʻa Malesa, pea mo e ngaahi faʻahinga ʻoe fale ʻokinautolu naʻe ngaohi ʻae tupenu lelei lahi, ʻi he faʻahinga ʻo Esipea.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lechah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of byssus-workers, of the house of Ashbea,

These were the potters, and those that abode among plantations and enclosures: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, [and] Saul;

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

26 Pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Misima; ko Hamueli ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Sakuli ko hono foha ʻoʻona, mo Simi ko hono foha ʻoʻona.

And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son;

27 Pea naʻe maʻu ʻe Simi ʻae ngaahi foha ʻe toko hongofulu ma toko ono, mo e ngaahi ʻofefine ʻe toko ono; ka naʻe ʻikai ke tokolahi ʻae fānau ʻo hono ngaahi tokoua, pea naʻe ʻikai ke fanafanau lahi ʻa hono faʻahinga kotoa pē, ke hangē ko e fānau ʻa Siuta.

and Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. And his brethren had not many sons; neither did all their family multiply like to the sons of Judah.

28 Pea naʻa nau nofo ʻi Peasipa, mo Molata, mo e ngaahi kolo ʻo Suali.

And they abode at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shual,

and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

And their villages were Etam and Ain, Rimmon and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These were their habitations and their genealogical register.

34 Pea ko Mesopapi, mo Samileki, mo Sosa ko e foha ʻo ʻAmasia.

And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35 Mo Soeli, mo Sehu ko e foha ʻo Sosipia, ko e foha ʻo Selaia, ko e foha ʻo Esieli,

and Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 Mo Ilionei, mo Sakopa, mo Sisohaia, mo ʻAsaia, mo ʻAtieli, mo Sesimieli, mo Penaia,

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 Mo Sisa ko e foha ʻo Sifi, ko e foha ʻo ʻAloni, ko e foha ʻo Sitaia, ko e foha ʻo Simili, ko e foha ʻo Simaia;

and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah:

these mentioned by name were princes in their families; and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 Pea naʻa nau ʻalu atu ki he hūʻanga ki Kitoa, ki he potu hahake ʻoe teleʻa, ke kumi ʻae potu mohukuʻia maʻa ʻenau fanga manu.

And they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 Pea naʻa nau ʻilo ʻae potu mohukuʻia mo lelei, pea naʻe ʻataʻatā ʻae fonua, mo nofo lelei, mo melino pe; he naʻe nofo ʻi muʻa ʻi ai ʻae kakai Hami.

And they found fat and good pasture, and a land widely extended and quiet and fertile, for they who had dwelt there formerly were of Ham.

41 Pea ko kinautolu ni naʻe tohi ʻa honau hingoa naʻe haʻu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Hesekaia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, ʻonau teʻia honau ngaahi fale fehikitaki, pea mo e kakai Maoni naʻe ʻilo ʻi ai, mo nau fakaʻauha ʻaupito ia ʻo aʻu mai ki he ʻaho ni, pea naʻa nau nofo ʻi honau ngaahi potu: koeʻuhi naʻe ʻi ai ʻae mohuku ki heʻenau fanga manu.

And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; for there was pasture there for their flocks.

43 Pea naʻa nau teʻia ʻae toenga ʻoe kakai ʻAmaleki naʻe hao, mo nau nofo ai ʻo aʻu mai ki he ʻaho ni.

and they smote the rest of the Amalekites that had escaped; and they dwelt there unto this day.
