This is a list of the Israeli men who served the king in the army. Some were leaders of families, some were commanders of 100 men, some were commanders of 1,000 men, and some were their officers. There were 24,000 men [DOU] in each group. Each group served one month of each year.

He was a descendant of Perez, and he was the commander of all the army officers during the first month of each year.
4 Pea naʻe pule ki he lakanga ʻi hono ua ʻoe māhina ʻa Totei ko e tangata ʻAhoia, pea naʻe pule foki ki hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻa Mikiloti: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona foki ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
Dodai, from the clan of Ahohi, was the commander of the group that served during the following/second month of each year. Mikloth was his (assistant/chief officer).
5 Ko hono toko tolu ʻoe ʻeiki pule ʻoe kautau ki hono tolu ʻoe māhina, ko Penaia ko e foha ʻo Sihoiata, ko e tangata naʻe ʻeiki: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the Supreme Priest, was the commander of the group that served during the following/third month.
6 Ko eni ia ʻae Penaia ʻaia naʻe toʻa lahi ʻi he “Toko Tolungofulu,” pea ʻeiki hake ʻi he “Toko Tolungofulu:” pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻa hono foha ko ʻAmisapati.
He was the one who was a mighty warrior among David’s thirty greatest soldiers, and he was their leader. His son Ammizabad was his assistant.
7 Ko hono toko fā ki hono fā ʻoe māhina, ko ʻAsaeli ko e tokoua ʻo Soape, mo Sepatia ko hono foha naʻe hoko mo ia: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
Asahel, Joab’s [younger] brother, was [the commander of the group that served] during the following/fourth month. Asahel’s son Zebadiah became the commander after Asahel [was killed].
8 Pea ko hono toko nima ʻoe ʻeiki ki hono nima ʻoe māhina, ko Samuti ko e tangata Isila: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/fifth month was Shamhuth, a descendant of Izrah.
9 Pea ko hono toko ono ki hono ono ʻoe māhina, ko Ila ko e foha ʻo Ikesi ko e tangata Tikoa: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh from Tekoa [town].
10 Pea ko hono toko fitu ki hono fitu ʻoe māhina, ko Helesi ko e tangata Piloni mei he fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/seventh month was Helez, a member of the Pelon [clan] from the tribe of Ephraim.
11 Ko hono toko valu ki hono valu ʻoe māhina, ko Sipikei ko e tangata Husa, mei he kakai Sela: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/eighth month was Sibbecai, a descendant of Zerah from Hushah [town].
12 Ko hono toko hiva ki hono hiva ʻoe māhina, ko ʻApiesa ko e tangata ʻAnitoti, ʻoe kakai Penisimani: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/ninth month was Abiezer from Anathoth [city] in the tribe of Benjamin.
13 Ko hono toko hongofulu ki hono hongofulu ʻoe māhina, ko Mehelei ko e tangata Nitofa, ʻoe kakai Sela: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/tenth month was Maharai, a descendant of Zerah from Netophath [town].
14 Ko hono toko hongofulu ma taha ʻoe māhina, ko Penaia ko e tangata Pilatoni, ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIfalemi: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the following/eleventh month was Benaiah from Pirathon [town] in the tribe of Ephraim.
15 Ko hono toko hongofulu ma ua ki hono hongofulu ma ua ʻoe māhina ko ʻElitai ko e tangata Nitofa, ʻoe kakai Otinili: pea naʻe ʻi hono lakanga ʻoʻona ʻae toko ua mano mo e fā afe.
The commander for the last month [of each year] was Heldai, a descendant of Othniel from Netophath [town].
16 Pea ko e ngaahi ʻeiki foki ki he ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsileli: ko e ʻeiki ʻi he faʻahinga ʻo Lupeni, ko ʻEliesa ko e foha ʻo Sikili: pea ki he faʻahinga ʻo Simione ʻa Sifatia ko e foha ʻo Meaka:
This is a list of the administrators of the [twelve] tribes [DOU] of Israel: Eliezer, the son of Zicri, was the administrator of the tribe of Reuben. Shephatiah, the son of Maacah, was the administrator of the tribe of Simeon.

Elihu, David’s [older] brother, was the administrator of the tribe of Judah. Omri, the son of Michael, was the administrator of the tribe of Issachar.
19 ‌ʻOe faʻahinga ʻo Sepuloni, ʻa Isimaia ko e foha ʻo ʻOpataia: ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Nafitali, ʻa Selimoti ko e foha ʻo ʻAsilieli:
Ishmaiah, the son of Obadiah, was the administrator of the tribe of Zebulun. Jerimoth, the son of Azriel, was the administrator of the tribe of Naphtali.
20 ‌ʻOe fānau ʻa ʻIfalem, ko Hosea ko e foha ʻo ʻAsasia: ʻoe vahe ua ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Manase, ʻa Soeli ko e foha ʻo Pitaia:
Hoshea, the son of Azaziah, was the administrator of the tribe of Ephraim. Joel, the son of Pedaiah, was the administrator of the tribe of the [western] half of the tribe of Manasseh.
21 ‌ʻOe vahe ua ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Manase ʻaia naʻe nofo ʻi Kiliati, ko Ito ko e foha ʻo Sakalia: ʻoe faʻahinga ʻo Penisimani, ʻa Seesieli ko e foha ʻo ʻApina:
Iddo, the son of Zechariah, was the administrator of the [eastern] half of the tribe of Manasseh, in [the] Gilead [region]. Jaasiel, the son of Abner, was the administrator of the tribe of Benjamin.
22 ‌ʻOe faʻahinga ʻo Tani, ʻa Esalili ko e foha ʻo Silohami. Ko kinautolu eni naʻe ʻeiki hake ʻi he ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsileli.
Azarel, the son of Jeroham, was the administrator of the tribe of Dan. Those were the leaders over the tribes of Israel.
23 Ka naʻe ʻikai ke lau ʻe Tevita ʻae kakai mei hono uofulu taʻu ʻo ʻenau motuʻa ʻo fai hifo: he koeʻuhi naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova ke ne fakatokolahi ʻa ʻIsileli ke hangē ko e ngaahi fetuʻu ʻoe langi.
[When] David [told Joab to count the men of Israel, he] did not [tell him to] count the men who were less then 20 years old, because Yahweh had promised [many years previously] that there would be as many [people] in Israel as there are stars in the sky.
24 Naʻe kamata lau [ʻae kakai ]ʻe Soape ko e tama ʻo Seluia, ka naʻe ʻikai te ne faʻa fakaʻosi ia, koeʻuhi naʻe tō ai ʻae houhau ki ʻIsileli ʻi he meʻa ko ia; pea naʻe ʻikai tohi ʻa hono lau ki he tohi fakamatala meʻa ʻoe tuʻi ko Tevita.
Joab [and his helpers] started to count the men of Israel, but they did not finish counting them [because Joab knew that Yahweh was angry about their being counted]. Yahweh punished [MTY] the people of Israel because of this counting, and as a result the total number of Israeli men [able to serve in the army] was not written on the scroll about King David’s [rule].
25 Pea naʻe pule ʻa ʻAsimaveti ko e foha ʻo ʻAtieli ki he ngaahi koloa ʻae tuʻi: pea naʻe pule ʻa Sihonatani ko e foha ʻo ʻUsia ki he ngaahi feleoko ʻi he ngaahi tokangangoue, pea ʻi he ngaahi kolo, pea ʻi he ngaahi potu kakai siʻi, pea ʻi he ngaahi fale tau:
Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was in charge of the king’s storehouses. Jonathan, the son of Uzziah, was is charge of the storehouses in various towns and villages in Israel, and also in charge of the watchtowers.
26 Pea naʻe pule ʻa Eseli ko e foha Kilupi kiate kinautolu naʻe ngāue ʻi he tō ngoue ʻi he ngaahi tokangangoue:
Ezri the son of Kelub was in charge of the workers who farmed the land [that belonged to the king].
27 Pea naʻe pule ki he ngaahi ngoue vaine ʻa Simi ko e tangata Lama: pea naʻe pule ki he fua ʻoe ngaahi ngoue vaine ʻaia naʻe tuku ki he ngaohi ʻoe uaine, ʻa Sapiti ko e tangata Safani:
Shimei from Ramath [town] was in charge of the king’s vineyards. Zabdi from Shepham [town] was in charge of storing the wine from the [grapes produced in] vineyards.
28 Pea naʻe pule ʻa Peali-Hanani ko e tangata Kiteli, ki he ngaahi ʻakau ko e ʻolive mo e ngaahi ʻakau ko e Sukamino, ʻaia naʻe tupu ʻi he ngaahi potu tokalelei: pea naʻe pule ʻa Soasi ki he ngaahi fale tukunga lolo.
Baal-Hanan from Geder [city] was in charge of storing the olive oil.
29 Pea naʻe pule ʻa Sitilei ko e tangata Saloni, ki he fanga manu naʻe fafangaʻi ʻi Saloni: pea naʻe pule ʻa Safati ko e foha ʻo ʻAtilai ki he fanga manu naʻe fafangaʻi ʻi he ngaahi potu talalo:
Shitrai from the Sharon Plain was in charge of the herds of cattle that (grazed/ate grass) there. Shaphat the son of Adlai was in charge of the cattle in the valleys.
30 Naʻe pule foki ʻa Opili ko e tangata ʻIsimeʻeli ki he fanga kāmeli: pea naʻe pule ki he fanga ʻasi ʻa Setia ko e tangata Melonoti:
Obil, a descendant of Ishmael, was in charge of the camels. Jehdeiah from Meronoth [town] was in charge of the donkeys.
31 Pea naʻe pule ki he fanga sipi ʻa Sasisi ko e tangata Hekaʻā. Ko kinautolu kotoa pē eni naʻe pule ki he koloa kotoa pē naʻe ʻo Tevita ko e tuʻi.
Jaziz, a descendant of Hagar, was in charge of the [king’s] flocks of sheep. All of those officials were in charge of the things that belonged to King David.
32 Pea ko Sonatane foki ko e tuʻasina ʻa Tevita, ko e tangata fai fakakaukau, mo poto lahi ia, pea ko e tangata tohi pea naʻe nofo ʻa Sehieli ko e foha ʻo Hikimoni fakataha mo e ngaahi foha ʻoe tuʻi:
David’s uncle Jonathan was a wise counselor for him. Jehiel, the son of Hacmoni, taught the king’s sons.
33 Pea ko ʻAhitofeli ko ia ia naʻe fai fakakaukau maʻae tuʻi: pea ko e takanga ʻoe tuʻi ko Husai ko e tangata ʻAliki:
Ahithophel was the king’s official counselor.
34 Pea naʻe hoko mo ʻAhitofeli ʻa Sihoiata, ko e foha ʻo Penaia, mo ʻApiata: pea ko Soape ko e pule lahi ia ki he kautau ʻoe tuʻi.
Hushai from the Ark people-group was the king’s special friend. Benaiah’s son Jehoiada became the king’s advisor after Ahithophel died, and later Abiathar became his advisor. Joab was the chief commander of the army.
