1 ౧ ప్రధాన సంగీతకారుని కోసం. షూషన్ ఎదూత్ అనే రాగంతో పాడేది. దావీదు ఆరామ్ నహరాయీమ్ వారితో అరామ్ సోబాయీ వారితో యుద్ధం చేసినప్పుడు యోవాబు ఉప్పు లోయలో పన్నెండు వేలమంది ఎదోమీయులను చంపి తిరిగి వచ్చినప్పుడు దావీదు రాసిన మిఖ్తీమ్ (రసిక కావ్యం) దేవా, మమ్మల్ని విడిచిపెట్టావు. మమ్మల్ని విరగగొట్టావు. మాపై కోపం పెంచుకున్నావు. మమ్మల్ని మళ్ళీ బాగు చెయ్యి.

To the Chief Musician. Upon "The Lily of Testimony." A precious Psalm of David, to instruct. When he waged war with Aram-neharaim, and with Aram-zobah, —and then Joab returned and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt, twelve thousand. O God, thou hast rejected us—hast scattered us, Thou hast been angry, Wilt thou restore us?

2 ౨ నీవు దేశాన్ని వణికించావు. దాన్ని ముక్కలుగా చేశావు. అది వణికిపోతున్నది. దానికి తగిలిన గాయాలు బాగు చెయ్యి.

Thou hast shaken the land—hast rent it, Heal thou the fractures thereof—for it hath tottered:

3 ౩ నీ ప్రజలకు నీ కఠినమైన కార్యాలు కనపరిచావు. మేము తూలిపోయేలా చేసే మద్యాన్ని మాకు తాగించావు.

Thou hast suffered thy people to see hardship, Thou hast let them drink the wine of confusion.

4 ౪ సత్యం నిమిత్తం ఎత్తి పట్టుకోవడానికి నీలో భయభక్తులు గలవారికి నీవొక ధ్వజాన్ని ఇచ్చావు.

Thou hadst given—to them that revere thee—a banner, to float aloft, Because of [thy] faithfulness. (Selah)

5 ౫ నువ్వు ప్రేమించే వారికి విమోచన కలిగేలా నీ కుడిచేతితో నన్ను రక్షించి నాకు జవాబు చెప్పు.

That thy beloved ones may be delivered, Save thou with thine own right hand—and answer us.

6 ౬ తన పరిశుద్ధత తోడని దేవుడు ప్రమాణం చేశాడు. నేను ఆనందిస్తాను! షెకెమును పంచిపెడతాను, సుక్కోతు లోయను కొలిపించి ఇస్తాను.

God, hath spoken in his holiness—I will exult! I will apportion Shechem, And, the Vale of Succoth, will I measure out;

7 ౭ గిలాదు నాది, మనష్షే నాది. ఎఫ్రాయిము నాకు శిరస్త్రాణం, యూదా నా రాజదండం.

Mine, is Gilead—and mine, Manasseh, But, Ephraim, is the defence, of my head, Judah, is my commander’s staff;

8 ౮ మోయాబు నేను కాళ్లు కడుక్కునే పళ్ళెం. ఎదోము మీద నా చెప్పు విసిరేస్తాను. ఫిలిష్తియను బట్టి నేను సింహనాదం చేస్తాను.

Moab, is my wash-bowl, Upon Edom, will I throw my shoe, Over Philistia! raise shout of triumph.

9 ౯ కోటగల బలమైన పట్టణంలోకి నన్ను ఎవడు తోడుకుని వెళ్తాడు? ఎదోములోకి నన్ను ఎవడు నడిపిస్తాడు? అన్నాడు.

Who will conduct me to a fortified city? Who will lead me as far as Edom!

10 ౧౦ దేవా, నువ్వు మమ్మల్ని విడిచిపెట్టావు కదా? మా సేనలతో కలిసి బయలుదేరడం నువ్వు మానేశావు కదా?

Is it not, thou, O God?—thou hast rejected us! And wilt thou not go forth, O God, with our hosts?

11 ౧౧ మనుషుల సహాయం ప్రయోజనం లేనిది. శత్రువులను జయించడానికి మాకు సహాయం చెయ్యి.

Grant us help out of distress, For, vain, is the deliverance of man:

12 ౧౨ దేవుని సహాయంతో మేము విజయం సాధిస్తాము. మా శత్రువులను అణగదొక్కేవాడు ఆయనే.

In God, we shall do valiantly, He himself, therefore, will tread down our adversaries.
