సామెతలు 29

1 ౧ చాలా గద్దింపులు వచ్చినా తలబిరుసుగా ఉండిపోయేవాడు ఇక స్వస్థత అనేది లేకుండా హఠాత్తుగా విరిగి పోతాడు.

The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.

2 ౨ మంచి చేసే వారు ఎక్కువ మంది అయినప్పుడు ప్రజలు సంతోషిస్తారు. దుష్టుడు ఏలుతున్నప్పుడు ప్రజలు నిట్టూర్పులు విడుస్తారు.

When just men increase, the people shall rejoice: when the wicked shall bear rule, the people shall mourn.

3 ౩ జ్ఞానాన్ని ప్రేమించేవాడు తన తండ్రిని సంతోషపెడతాడు. వేశ్యలతో సాంగత్యం చేసేవాడు అతని ఆస్తిని పాడుచేస్తాడు.

A man that loveth wisdom, rejoiceth his father: but he that maintaineth bar lots, shall squander away his substance.

4 ౪ న్యాయం మూలంగా రాజు దేశానికి క్షేమం కలగజేస్తాడు. లంచాలు పుచ్చుకొనేవాడు దేశాన్ని పాడుచేస్తాడు.

A just king setteth up the land: a covetous man shall destroy it.

5 ౫ తన పొరుగువాడితో ముఖ స్తుతి మాటలు చెప్పేవాడు అతణ్ణి చిక్కించు కోడానికి వలవేసేవాడు.

A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet.

6 ౬ దుష్టుడు తన స్వయంకృతాపరాధం వల్ల బోనులో చిక్కుకుంటాడు. మంచి చేసేవాడు పాటలుపాడుతూ సంతోషంగా ఉంటాడు.

A snare shall entangle the wicked man when he sinneth: and the just shall praise and rejoice.

7 ౭ మంచి మనిషి పేదల పక్షంగా వాదిస్తాడు. పాతకుడికి అలాటి జ్ఞానం లేదు.

The just taketh notice of the cause of the poor: the wicked is void of knowledge.

8 ౮ అపహాసకులు ఊరిని తగల బెడతారు. జ్ఞానులు కోపం చల్లారుస్తారు.

Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath.

9 ౯ జ్ఞాని మూర్ఖనితో వాదించేటప్పుడు వాడు రెచ్చిపోతుంటాడు, నవ్వుతుంటాడు. నెమ్మది ఉండదు.

If a wise man contend with a fool, whether he be angry or laugh, he shall find no rest.

10 ౧౦ రక్తపిపాసులు నిర్దోషులను ద్వేషిస్తారు. వారు నీతిపరుల ప్రాణాలు తీయాలని చూస్తుంటారు.

Bloodthirsty men hate the upright: but just men seek his soul.

11 ౧౧ బుద్ధిహీనుడు తన కోపమంతా వెళ్ళగక్కుతాడు. జ్ఞానం గలవాడు కోపం అణచుకుంటాడు.

A fool uttereth all his mind: a wise man deferreth, and keepeth it till afterwards.

12 ౧౨ రాజు గనక అబద్ధాలు నమ్ముతూ ఉంటే అతని ఉద్యోగులు దుష్టులుగా ఉంటారు.

A prince that gladly heareth lying words, hath all his servants wicked.

13 ౧౩ పేదలు, వడ్డీ వ్యాపారులు కలుసుకుంటారు. ఉభయుల కళ్ళకు వెలుగిచ్చేవాడు యెహోవాయే.

The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both.

14 ౧౪ ఏ రాజు దరిద్రులకు సత్యంతో న్యాయం తీరుస్తాడో ఆ రాజు సింహాసనం శాశ్వతంగా ఉంటుంది.

The king that judgeth the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for ever.

15 ౧౫ బెత్తం, గద్దింపు జ్ఞానం కలిగిస్తుంది. అదుపులేని పిల్లవాడు తన తల్లికి అవమానం తెస్తాడు.

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will bringeth his mother to shame.

16 ౧౬ దుష్టులు ప్రబలినప్పుడు దుర్మార్గత ప్రబలుతుంది. వారి పతనాన్ని నీతిపరులు కళ్లారా చూస్తారు.

When the wicked are multiplied, crimes shall be multiplied: but the just shall see their downfall.

17 ౧౭ నీ కొడుకును శిక్షించినట్టయితే అతడు నీకు విశ్రాంతినిస్తాడు. నీ మనస్సుకు ఆనందం కలిగిస్తాడు.

Instruct thy son, and he shall refresh thee, and shall give delight to thy soul.

18 ౧౮ ప్రవచన దర్శనం లేకపోతే ప్రజలు విచ్చలవిడిగా ఉంటారు. ధర్మశాస్త్రానికి కట్టుబడి ఉండే వాడు ధన్యుడు.

When prophecy shall fail, the people shall be scattered abroad: but he that keepeth the law is blessed.

19 ౧౯ సేవకుడు మందలిస్తే బుద్ధి తెచ్చుకోడు. వాడికి విషయం అర్థం అయినా వాడు లోబడడు.

A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer.

20 ౨౦ తొందరపడి మాట్లాడే వాణ్ణి చూసావా? వాడికంటే మూర్ఖుడే సుళువుగా మారతాడు.

Hast thou seen a man hasty to speak? folly is rather to be looked for, than his amendment.

21 ౨౧ ఒకడు తన సేవకుణ్ణి చిన్నప్పటి నుండి గారాబంగా పెంచితే చివరకూ వాడి వలన ఇబ్బందులు వస్తాయి.

He that nourisheth his servant delicately from his childhood, afterwards shall find him stubborn.

22 ౨౨ కోపిష్టి కలహం రేపుతాడు. ముక్కోపి చాలా పాపాలు చేస్తాడు.

A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin.

23 ౨౩ ఎవరి అహం వాణ్ణి అణచి వేస్తుంది. వినయమనస్కుడు గౌరవానికి నోచుకుంటాడు.

Humiliation followeth the proud: and glory shall uphold the humble of spirit.

24 ౨౪ దొంగతో చేతులు కలిపినవాడు తనకు తానే పగవాడు. అలాంటివాడు శాపపు మాటలు విని కూడా మిన్నకుంటాడు.

He that is partaker with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth one putting him to his oath, and discovereth not.

25 ౨౫ భయపడడం వల్ల మనుషులకు ఉరి వస్తుంది. యెహోవా పట్ల నమ్మకం ఉంచేవాడు సురక్షితంగా ఉంటాడు.

He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be set on high.

26 ౨౬ పరిపాలకుని అనుగ్రహం కోరే వారు అసంఖ్యాకం. కానీ మనుష్యులకు న్యాయం తీర్చేది యెహోవాయే.

Many seek the face of the prince: but the judgment of every one cometh forth from the Lord.

27 ౨౭ మంచి చేసే వారికీ దుర్మార్గుడు అంటే అసహ్యం. అలానే యథార్థవర్తనుడు భక్తిహీనుడికి హేయుడు.

The just abhor the wicked man: and the wicked loathe them that are in the right way. The son that keepeth the word, shall be free from destruction.
