1 ౧ ద్రాక్ష మద్యం ఎగతాళి పాలు చేస్తుంది. సారాయి మనిషిని గిల్లికజ్జాలు పెట్టుకునేలా చేస్తుంది. తప్ప తాగి దారి తప్పేవాడు బుద్ధి లేని వాడు.
WINE is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

13 ౧౩ అతిగా నిద్ర పోవద్దు. లేకపోతే దరిద్రం ముంచుకు వస్తుంది. మేలుకుని ఉంటే కడుపు నిండా ఆహారం ఉంటుంది.

26 ౨౬ జ్ఞానంగల రాజు భక్తిహీనులను చెల్లా చెదరు చేసేస్తాడు. అలాటి వాళ్ళ మీద బరువైన చక్రం దొర్లిస్తాడు.
