మత్తయి 4
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
After fasting forty days and nights, he was hungry.
3 ౩ శోధకుడు ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, “నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడివైతే ఈ రాళ్ళు రొట్టెలైపోవాలని ఆజ్ఞాపించు” అన్నాడు.
The tempter came and said to him, “If you really are the Son of God, order these stones to turn into bread.”
4 ౪ అందుకు ఆయన “మనిషి కేవలం ఆహారంతోనే బతకడు, దేవుని నోట నుంచి వచ్చే ప్రతి మాట వల్లా బతుకుతాడు, అని రాసి ఉంది” అన్నాడు.
Jesus answered, “As Scripture says, ‘Human beings do not live by only eating bread, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Then the devil took him to the holy city and placed him on the top of the Temple.
6 ౬ “నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడివైతే కిందికి దూకు. ఎందుకంటే, ‘ఆయన నీ గురించి తన దూతలకు ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తాడు. నీ పాదానికి రాయి తగలకుండా వారు నిన్ను తమ చేతుల్లో ఎత్తి పట్టుకుంటారు’ అని రాసి ఉంది” అన్నాడు.
“If you really are the son of God, then throw yourself off,” he told Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘He will order his angels to save you from harm. They will catch you so that you won't fall by tripping over a stone.’”
Jesus answered, “As Scripture also says, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
8 ౮ అపవాది మళ్ళీ ఆయనను చాలా ఎత్తయిన కొండపైకి తీసుకు పోయి, ప్రపంచ రాజ్యాలను, వాటి వైభవాన్ని ఆయనకు చూపించాడు.
Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory.
He said to Jesus, “I will give you all these if you fall down on your knees and worship me.”
10 ౧౦ అప్పుడు యేసు “సాతాన్! అవతలికి పో! ‘ప్రభువైన నీ దేవుణ్ణి మాత్రమే నువ్వు ఆరాధించాలి. ఆయన్నే నువ్వు సేవించాలి’ అని రాసి ఉంది” అన్నాడు.
“Go away, Satan!” said Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve him, and him alone.’”
Then the devil left him, and angels came to care for him.
When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee.
13 ౧౩ ఆయన నజరేతును విడిచి వెళ్ళి కపెర్నహూములో నివసించాడు. అది గలిలయ సముద్ర తీరాన జెబూలూను, నఫ్తాలి ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉంది.
Leaving Nazareth, he came to stay in Capernaum, on the shores of the sea in the regions of Zebulun and Naphthali.
14 ౧౪
This fulfilled what Isaiah the prophet said,
15 ౧౫ “జెబూలూను నఫ్తాలి ప్రాంతాలు, యొర్దాను నది అవతల సముద్రం వైపున ఉన్న యూదేతరుల గలిలయ ప్రాంతాల్లో చీకటిలో కూర్చున్న ప్రజలు గొప్ప వెలుగు చూశారు.
“In the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphthali, on the road to the sea, across the Jordan River, in Galilee where the foreigners live:
16 ౧౬ చావు నీడలో కూర్చున్న వారిపై వెలుగు ఉదయించింది.” అని యెషయా ప్రవక్త ద్వారా పలికిన మాట ఈ విధంగా నెరవేరింది.
The people living in darkness saw a great light; the light of dawn has shined on those living in the land of the shadow of death.”
From that time on Jesus began declaring his message, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has arrived!”
18 ౧౮ యేసు గలిలయ సముద్ర తీరాన నడుస్తూ, ఇద్దరు అన్నదమ్ములు సముద్రంలో వల వేయడం చూశాడు. వారు పేతురు అనే సీమోను, అతని సోదరుడు అంద్రెయ. వారు చేపలు పట్టేవారు.
As he was walking by the sea of Galilee Jesus saw two brothers. Simon, also called Peter, and his brother Andrew, were casting a net in the sea. They made their living by catching fish.
“Come and follow me, and I will teach you how to catch people,” he told them.
They left their nets immediately and followed him.
21 ౨౧ యేసు అక్కడనుంచి వెళ్తూ ఇంకో ఇద్దరు అన్నదమ్ములను చూశాడు. వారు జెబెదయి కొడుకులు యాకోబు, యోహాను. వారు తమ తండ్రి జెబెదయి దగ్గర పడవలో తమ వలలు బాగుచేసుకుంటుంటే చూసి వారిని పిలిచాడు.
Continuing on he saw two other brothers, James and John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them to follow him.
They left the boat and their father immediately, and followed him.
23 ౨౩ యేసు వారి సమాజ మందిరాల్లో బోధిస్తూ, దేవుని రాజ్య సువార్తను ప్రకటిస్తూ ప్రజల్లో ఉన్న ప్రతి వ్యాధినీ రోగాన్నీ బాగు చేస్తూ గలిలయ ప్రాంతమంతా తిరిగాడు.
Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, telling the good news of the kingdom, and healing all the diseases and illnesses the people had.
24 ౨౪ ఆయన పేరు సిరియా దేశమంతా తెలిసిపోయింది. రకరకాల వ్యాధులతో, నొప్పులతో బాధపడుతున్న వారిని, దయ్యాలు పట్టిన వారిని, మూర్ఛ రోగులను, పక్షవాతం వచ్చిన వారిని ఆయన దగ్గరికి తీసుకు వస్తే ఆయన వారిని బాగుచేశాడు.
News about him spread throughout the province of Syria. They brought everyone who was sick to him: people troubled by seizures, the demon-possessed, those who were mentally ill, people who were paralyzed, and he healed all of them.
25 ౨౫ గలిలయ, దెకపొలి, యెరూషలేము, యూదయ ప్రాంతాల నుండీ యొర్దాను అవతలి ప్రాంతం నుండీ ప్రజలు గుంపులు గుంపులుగా ఆయన వెంట వెళ్ళారు.
Large crowds followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the region beyond Jordan.
