మలాకీ 2
And now, ye priests, this commandment is for you.
2 ౨ సైన్యాలకు అధిపతియైన యెహోవా చెప్పేది ఏమిటంటే, మీరు నేను ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞలు పాటించకుండా, నా నామాన్ని మనస్ఫూర్తిగా గౌరవించడానికి నిశ్చయించుకోకపోతే నేను మీ మీదికి శాపం వచ్చేలా చేస్తాను. మీకు కలిగిన ఆశీర్వాద ఫలాలను శపిస్తాను. మీరు ఇంకా దాన్ని గుర్తుకు తెచ్చుకోలేదు గనుక ఇంతకుముందే నేను వాటిని శపించాను.
If ye do not hear, and if ye do not lay [it] to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, I will even send the curse among you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have already cursed them, because ye do not lay [it] to heart.
3 ౩ మిమ్మల్ని బట్టి మీ సంతానాన్ని పెకలించి వేస్తాను. మీ పండగల్లో మీరు అర్పించే పశువుల పేడ మీ ముఖాలపై వేయిస్తాను. పేడ ఊడ్చి వేసే స్థలానికి మీరు ఊడ్చి వేయబడేలా చేస్తాను.
Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, the dung of your feasts; and they shall take you away with it.
4 ౪ దీన్ని బట్టి నేను లేవీయులకు నిబంధనగా ఉండేలా ఈ ఆజ్ఞను మీకు ఇచ్చిన వాణ్ణి నేనే అని మీరు తెలుసు కుంటారు అని సేనల ప్రభువు యెహోవా సెలవిస్తున్నాడు.
And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.
5 ౫ నేను చేసిన నిబంధన వారి ప్రాణానికి, శాంతికి మూల కారణం. నా పట్ల వారికి భయభక్తులు కలిగించడానికి నేను వాటిని ఇచ్చాను. కాబట్టి వారు నా పట్ల భయభక్తులు కలిగి, నా నామం విషయంలో భయం కలిగి నడుచుకున్నారు.
My covenant with him was of life and peace, and I gave them to him that he might fear; and he feared me, and trembled before my name.
6 ౬ వారు దుర్బోధ ఎంతమాత్రమూ చేయకుండా సత్యమైన ధర్మశాస్త్రం బోధిస్తూ వచ్చారు. సమాధానంతో, యథార్థతతో నన్ను అనుసరించి అనేకులను అన్యాయం నుండి మళ్ళుకునేలా చేశారు.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
7 ౭ యాజకులు సైన్యాలకు అధిపతియైన యెహోవా వార్తాహరులు గనుక ప్రజలు వారి నోటనుండి వచ్చే ధర్మశాస్త్ర విధులు నేర్చుకొంటారు గనుక వారు జ్ఞానం కలిగి వాటిని బోధించాలి.
For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and at his mouth they seek the law; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.
8 ౮ అయితే మీరు దారి తప్పారు. మీరు చేసిన ఉపదేశం వల్ల చాలా మంది దారి తప్పారు. నేను లేవీయులతో చేసిన నిబంధనను వమ్ము చేశారు.
But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.
9 ౯ ధర్మశాస్త్ర ఉపదేశంలో మీరు జరిగించిన పక్షపాతం వల్ల ప్రజలందరి ఎదుట మిమ్మల్ని తిరస్కారానికి గురైన వారుగా, అణగారి పోయిన వారుగా చేశాను అని సేనల ప్రభువు యెహోవా సెలవిస్తున్నాడు.
And I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because ye have not kept my ways, but have respect of persons in [administering] the law.
10 ౧౦ మనకందరికి తండ్రి ఒక్కడే కదా. ఒక్క దేవుడే మనలను సృష్టించాడు కదా. అలాంటప్పుడు మనం ఒకరి పట్ల ఒకరం ద్రోహం చేసుకుంటూ, మన పూర్వీకులతో చేసిన కట్టడను ఎందుకు తిరస్కరిస్తున్నాం?
Have we not all one father? Hath not one God created us? Why do we deal unfaithfully every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
11 ౧౧ యూదా ప్రజలు ద్రోహులుగా మారారు. ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల మధ్య యెరూషలేములోనే నీచ కార్యాలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. యూదా ప్రజలు యెహోవాకు ప్రియమైన పరిశుద్ధ స్థలాన్ని అపవిత్రం చేసి అన్యదేవత ఆరాధకుల పిల్లలను వివాహం చేసుకున్నారు.
Judah hath dealt unfaithfully, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the sanctuary of Jehovah which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
12 ౧౨ ఈ విధంగా చేసిన వాళ్ళను యాకోబు సంతానానికి చెందిన గుడారాల్లో లేకుండా, సైన్యాలకు అధిపతియైన యెహోవాకు నైవేద్యాలు అర్పించే వారి సహవాసంలో లేకుండా యెహోవా నాశనం చేస్తాడు.
Jehovah will cut off from the tents of Jacob the man that doeth this, him that calleth and him that answereth; and him that offereth an oblation unto Jehovah of hosts.
13 ౧౩ మళ్ళీ రెండోసారి కూడా మీరు అలాగే చేస్తారు. అయితే ఆయన మీ నైవేద్యాన్ని స్వీకరించడు. మీరు అర్పించే అర్పణలు ఆయన లక్ష్యపెట్టడు. అప్పుడు యెహోవా బలిపీఠాన్ని ఏడ్పుతో, కన్నీళ్లతో, రోదనతో మీరు తడుపుతారు.
And further ye do this: ye cover the altar of Jehovah with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, insomuch that he regardeth not the oblation any more, nor receiveth [it] with satisfaction at your hand.
14 ౧౪ ఇలా ఎందుకు జరుగుతుంది? అని మీరు అడుగుతారు. యవ్వన కాలంలో నువ్వు పెళ్లి చేసుకుని అన్యాయంగా విడిచిపెట్టిన నీ భార్య పక్షంగా యెహోవా సాక్షిగా నిలబడతాడు. నీ భార్య నీ సహకారి కాదా, నీవు చేసిన నిబంధన ప్రకారం భార్య కాదా.
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because Jehovah hath been a witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt unfaithfully: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15 ౧౫ ఆయన మీ ఇద్దరినీ ఒక్కటిగా చేశాడు. శరీరం, ఆత్మ రెండూ ఆయనకే చెందుతాయి గదా. అలా ఒకటిగా చేయడం దేనికి? దేవుని మూలంగా వారికి సంతతి కలగాలని. అందువల్ల మిమ్మల్ని మీరే జాగ్రత్తగా కాపాడుకోండి. యవ్వనంలో పెళ్లి చేసుకున్న మీ భార్యలకు ద్రోహం చేసి విశ్వాస ఘాతకులుగా మారకండి.
And did not one make [them]? and the remnant of the Spirit was his. And wherefore the one? He sought a seed of God. Take heed then to your spirit, and let none deal unfaithfully against the wife of his youth,
16 ౧౬ ఒకడు తన భార్యను విడిచి పెట్టడం నాకు అసహ్యం అని ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిస్తున్నాడు. ఒకడు తన బట్టలతో బాటు బలాత్కారంతో తనను కప్పుకోవడం నాకు అసహ్యమని సైన్యాలకు అధిపతియైన యెహోవా అంటున్నాడు. కనుక మీ హృదయాలను కాపాడుకోండి. విశ్వాస ఘాతకులుగా ఉండకండి.
(for I hate putting away, saith Jehovah the God of Israel; ) and he covereth with violence his garment, saith Jehovah of hosts: take heed then to your spirit, that ye deal not unfaithfully.
17 ౧౭ మీరు మీ మాటలతో యెహోవాకు చిరాకు కలిగించారు. “ఏ విధంగా ఆయనకు చిరాకు కలిగించాం?” అని మీరు అడుగుతున్నారు. “చెడ్డ పనులు చేసే వాళ్ళంతా యెహోవా దృష్టిలో మంచివారే. వారిపట్ల ఆయన ఆనందిస్తాడు. లేకపోతే న్యాయం చేసే దేవుడు ఇక ఎందుకు?” అని చెప్పుకోవడం ద్వారా మీరు ఆయనకు చిరాకు కలిగిస్తున్నారు.
Ye have wearied Jehovah with your words, and ye say, Wherein have we wearied [him]? In that ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of Jehovah, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?
