విలాపవాక్యములు 4
1 ౧ బంగారం ఎలా మెరుగు మాసింది! మేలిమి బంగారం ఎలా మాసిపోయింది! ప్రతి వీధి మొదట్లో ప్రతిష్టితమైన రాళ్లు చెల్లాచెదరుగా పారేసి ఉన్నాయి.
How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! The hallowed stones are cast forth at the head of every street.
2 ౨ సీయోను కుమారులు శ్రేష్ఠులు. వాళ్ళు మేలిమి బంగారం కంటే విలువైన వాళ్ళు. అయితే వాళ్ళు ఇప్పుడు కుమ్మరి చేసిన మట్టికుండల్లాగా అందరూ వారిని చూస్తున్నారు.
The noble sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, How are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
3 ౩ నక్కలైనా చన్నిచ్చి తమ పిల్లలకు పాలు ఇస్తాయి. కాని నా ప్రజల కుమారి ఎడారిలోని నిప్పు కోడి అంత క్రూరంగా ఉంది.
The very jackals reach forth the breast; they suckle their young; But the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches of the desert.
4 ౪ దప్పిక వల్ల పాలు తాగే పిల్ల నాలుక దాని అంగిటికి అంటుకుంటూ ఉంది. పిల్లలు అన్నం అడుగుతారు, కాని వాళ్ళు తినడానికి ఏమీ లేదు.
The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst; Young children ask for bread, and no man breaketh it for them.
5 ౫ ఒకప్పుడు రుచికరమైన భోజనం తిన్నవాళ్ళు ఇప్పుడు దిక్కు లేకుండా వీధుల్లో ఆకలితో ఉన్నారు. ఒకప్పుడు ఊదారంగు వస్త్రాలు వేసుకున్న వాళ్ళు ఇప్పుడు చెత్తకుప్పలను ఆశ్రయించారు.
Those that fed on dainties are desolate in the streets; Those that have been brought up in scarlet embrace the dunghill.
6 ౬ నా ప్రజల కుమారి చేసిన పాపం సొదొమ పాపం కంటే ఎక్కువ. ఎవరూ దాని మీద చెయ్యి వెయ్యకుండానే అకస్మాత్తుగా అది పడిపోయింది.
The punishment of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of Sodom, Which was overthrown in a moment, though no hands came against her.
7 ౭ సీయోను నాయకులు మంచులా మెరిసే వాళ్ళు. పాలవలే తెల్లని వాళ్ళు. వాళ్ళ శరీరాలు పగడం కంటే ఎర్రనివి. వాళ్ళ దేహకాంతి నీలం లాంటిది.
Her princes were purer than snow, whiter than milk; More ruddy than coral was their body; Their visage was of sapphire.
8 ౮ కానీ ఇప్పుడు చీకటి వారి ముఖాలను నల్లగా చేసేసింది. వాళ్ళు వీధుల్లో గుర్తు పట్టలేనట్టుగా ఉన్నారు. వాళ్ళ చర్మం వాళ్ళ ఎముకలకు అంటుకు పోయింది. అది ఎండిపోయిన చెక్కలా అయ్యింది!
Now darker than a coal is their countenance; they are not known in the streets. Their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is become dry, like wood.
9 ౯ కత్తిపోటుతో హతమైన వాళ్ళ పరిస్థితి పొలంలో పంటలేక క్షీణించి కరువుతో హతమైన వాళ్ళ పరిస్థితికన్నా మెరుగు.
More fortunate are the slain by the sword than the slain by famine; For these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
10 ౧౦ కరుణ గల స్త్రీల చేతులు తాము కన్న తమ సొంత పిల్లలను వండుకున్నాయి. నా ప్రజల కుమారికి వచ్చిన నాశన కాలంలో వాళ్ళ పిల్లలు వాళ్లకు ఆహారం అయ్యారు.
The hands of tender-hearted women cooked their own children; They were their food, in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
11 ౧౧ యెహోవా తన కోపం తీర్చుకున్నాడు. తన కోపాగ్ని కుమ్మరించాడు. ఆయన సీయోనులో అగ్ని రాజేశాడు. అది దాని పునాదులను కాల్చేసింది.
Jehovah hath spent upon them his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger; He hath kindled a fire in Zion, which hath devoured its foundations.
12 ౧౨ భూరాజులు గాని, ప్రపంచ నివాసులు గాని, ఒక శత్రువు యెరూషలేము గుమ్మాల్లోకి ప్రవేశించగలడని ఎవరూ అనుకోలేదు.
The kings of the earth believed not, nor all the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary would enter, and the enemy, within the gates of Jerusalem.
13 ౧౩ దానిలో నీతిమంతుల రక్తం చిందడానికి కారణం అయిన దాని యాజకుల పాపం వల్ల, దాని ప్రవక్తల పాపం వల్ల శత్రువు ప్రవేశించాడు.
It was on account of the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, Who shed in the midst of her the blood of the righteous.
14 ౧౪ ఇప్పుడు వాళ్ళు గుడ్డివాళ్ళలా వీధుల్లో తిరుగుతున్నారు. వాళ్ళు రక్తం అంటిన అపవిత్రులు. అందుకే ఎవరూ వాళ్ళ వస్త్రాలైనా ముట్టలేక పోతున్నారు.
They stumbled like blind men through the streets, polluted with blood, So that men could not touch their garments.
15 ౧౫ ప్రజలు కేకపెడుతూ “పొండి! శుద్ధి లేని వాళ్ళలారా పొండి! నన్ను ముట్టుకోవద్దు” అన్నారు. వాళ్ళు పారిపోయి తిరుగులాడుతూ ఉన్నప్పుడు అన్యప్రజలు వాళ్ళతో, “విదేశీయులు ఇంక ఇక్కడ ఉండకూడదు” అంటున్నారు.
“Depart! unclean!” men cried to them. “Depart, depart, touch not!” As they fled, they stumbled; men said among the nations, “They shall dwell there no more.”
16 ౧౬ యెహోవా తన సన్నిధిలోనుంచి వాళ్ళను చెదరగొట్టాడు. ఇంక ఆయన వాళ్ళను పట్టించుకోడు. ఇంక యాజకులపట్ల ఎవరూ గౌరవం చూపించరు. పెద్దల పట్ల ఎవరూ దయ చూపించరు.
The anger of Jehovah hath scattered them; he will no more care for them; They paid no regard to the priests, they had no compassion for the elders.
17 ౧౭ దొరకని సహాయం కోసం కనిపెట్టినా మా కళ్ళకు ఏదీ కనబడలేదు. రక్షించలేని ప్రజల కోసం మా కళ్ళు ఆశగా ఎదురు చూస్తూ ఉన్నాయి.
Still did our eyes fail, looking for help in vain; On our watch-tower did we watch for a nation that could not save us.
18 ౧౮ మా వీధుల్లో మేము నడవకుండా మా విరోధులు మా జాడ పసిగట్టి మమ్మలి వెంటాడారు. మా చివరి దశ దగ్గర పడింది. మా రోజులు ముగిసిపోయాయి. మా అంతం వచ్చేసింది.
They laid snares for our steps, so that we could not go in our streets; Our end is near; our days are accomplished, yea, our end is come!
19 ౧౯ మమ్మల్ని తరిమే వాళ్ళు ఆకాశంలో ఎగిరే గద్దలకన్నా వేగం గల వాళ్ళు. పర్వతాల్లోకి వాళ్ళు మమ్మల్ని తరిమారు. అరణ్యంలో మా కోసం కాచుకుని ఉన్నారు.
Swifter were our pursuers than the eagles of heaven; They chased us upon the mountains; they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
20 ౨౦ మా నాసికారంధ్రాల ఊపిరి, యెహోవా చేత అభిషేకం పొందిన మా రాజు, వాళ్ళు తవ్విన గుంటల్లో పడి దొరికిపోయాడు.
The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Jehovah, was taken in their pits, Under whose shadow we said that we should live among the nations.
21 ౨౧ “అతని నీడ కింద అన్యప్రజల మధ్య బతుకుదాం” అని మేము ఎవరి గురించి అనుకున్నామో వాడు శత్రువుల చేజిక్కాడు. ఊజు దేశంలో నివాసం ఉన్న ఎదోము కుమారీ, సంతోషించు, ఉల్లాసంగా ఉండు. ఈ గిన్నెలోది తాగే వంతు నీకూ వస్తుంది. నువ్వు దానిలోది తాగి మత్తుగా ఉండి నిన్ను నువ్వు నగ్నంగా చేసుకుంటావు.
Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz! Yet to thee also shall the cup come! thou shalt be drunken, and shalt expose thy nakedness.
22 ౨౨ సీయోను కుమారీ, నీ శిక్ష ముగిసింది. ఇంక ఎన్నడూ ఆయన నిన్ను బందీగా చెరలోకి తీసుకు పోడు. ఎదోము కుమారీ, నీ పాపానికి ఆయన శిక్ష వేస్తాడు. నీ పాపాలను ఆయన బయట పెడతాడు.
Thy punishment is at an end, O daughter of Zion! no more will he carry thee into captivity; But thine iniquity will he punish, O daughter of Edom! he will uncover thy sins.
