As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 ౨ ఆయన శిష్యులు, “బోధకా, వీడు గుడ్డివాడిగా పుట్టడానికి కారణం వీడు చేసిన పాపమా, లేక వీడి తల్లిదండ్రులు చేసిన పాపమా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగారు.
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 ౩ అందుకు యేసు, “వీడైనా, వీడిని కన్నవారైనా ఏ పాపమూ చేయలేదు. దేవుని పనులు వీడిలో వెల్లడి కావడానికే వీడు గుడ్డివాడుగా పుట్టాడు.
Yeshua answered, “This man didn’t sin, nor did his parents, but that the works of God might be revealed in him.
4 ౪ పగలున్నంత వరకూ నన్ను పంపిన వాడి పనులు మనం చేస్తూ ఉండాలి. రాత్రి వస్తుంది. అప్పుడిక ఎవరూ పని చేయలేరు.
I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud,
7 ౭ “సిలోయం కోనేటికి వెళ్ళి దాంట్లో కడుక్కో” అని వాడికి చెప్పాడు. సిలోయం అనే మాటకు ‘వేరొకరు పంపినవాడు’ అని అర్థం. వాడు వెళ్ళి ఆ కోనేటిలో కడుక్కుని చూపు పొంది తిరిగి వచ్చాడు.
and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.
8 ౮ అప్పుడు ఇరుగు పొరుగు వారూ, ఇంతకు ముందు వాడు అడుక్కుంటుంటే చూసిన వారూ, “ఇక్కడ కూర్చుని అడుక్కునే వాడు ఇతడే కదా!” అన్నారు.
Therefore the neighbors and those who saw that he was blind before said, “Isn’t this he who sat and begged?”
Others were saying, “It is he.” Still others were saying, “He looks like him.” He said, “I am he.”
They therefore were asking him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 ౧౧ దానికి వాడు, “యేసు అనే ఒకాయన బురద చేసి నా కళ్లపై పూసి సిలోయం కోనేటికి వెళ్ళి కడుక్కోమని నాకు చెప్పాడు. నేను వెళ్ళి కడుక్కుని చూపు పొందాను” అన్నాడు.
He answered, “A man called Yeshua made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went away and washed, and I received sight.”
Then they asked him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don’t know.”
They brought him who had been blind to the Pharisees.
It was a Sabbath when Yeshua made the mud and opened his eyes.
15 ౧౫ వాడు చూపు ఎలా పొందాడో చెప్పమని పరిసయ్యులు కూడా వాడినడిగారు. వాడు, “ఆయన నా కన్నులపై బురద పూశాడు. నేను వెళ్ళి కడుక్కుని చూపు పొందాను” అని వారికి చెప్పాడు.
Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see.”
16 ౧౬ “ఈ వ్యక్తి విశ్రాంతి దినాన్ని ఆచరించడం లేదు కాబట్టి ఇతడు దేవుని దగ్గర నుండి రాలేదు” అని పరిసయ్యుల్లో కొందరు అన్నారు. మరి కొందరు, “ఇతడు పాపి అయితే ఇలాటి అద్భుతాలు ఎలా చేయగలడు?” అన్నారు. ఈ విధంగా వారిలో భేదాభిప్రాయం కలిగింది.
Some therefore of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” So there was division among them.
17 ౧౭ దాంతో వారు గుడ్డివాడుగా ఉన్నవాడితో, “నీ కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు కదా! ఆయన గురించి నీ అభిప్రాయం ఏమిటి?” అని అడిగారు. అప్పుడు వాడు, “ఆయన ఒక ప్రవక్త” అన్నాడు.
Therefore they asked the blind man again, “What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.”
18 ౧౮ వాడు గుడ్డివాడుగా ఉండి చూపు పొందాడని యూదులు మొదట నమ్మలేదు. అందుకని వాడి తల్లిదండ్రులను పిలిపించారు.
The Judeans therefore didn’t believe concerning him, that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight,
19 ౧౯ “గుడ్డివాడుగా పుట్టాడని మీరు చెప్పే మీ కొడుకు వీడేనా? అలాగైతే ఇప్పుడు వీడు ఎలా చూడగలుగుతున్నాడు?” అని వారిని అడిగారు.
and asked them, “Is this your son, whom you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
His parents answered them, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 ౨౧ అయితే ఇప్పుడు వీడు ఎలా చూస్తున్నాడో మాకు తెలీదు. వీడి కళ్ళు తెరిచినదెవరో మాకు తెలీదు. అయినా వీడికి వయస్సు వచ్చింది. వీడినే అడగండి. తన సంగతి వీడే చెప్పుకోగలడు” అన్నారు.
but how he now sees, we don’t know; or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself.”
22 ౨౨ వాడి తల్లిదండ్రులు యూదులకు భయపడి ఆ విధంగా చెప్పారు. ఎందుకంటే యూదులు అప్పటికే ఎవరైనా ఆయనను క్రీస్తు అని ఒప్పుకుంటే వారిని తమ సమాజ మందిరాల్లో నుండి బహిష్కరించాలని నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు.
His parents said these things because they feared the Judeans; for the Judeans had already agreed that if any man would confess him as Messiah, he would be put out of the synagogue.
Therefore his parents said, “He is of age. Ask him.”
24 ౨౪ కాబట్టి వారు అప్పటివరకూ గుడ్డివాడిగా ఉన్న వ్యక్తిని రెండవ సారి పిలిపించారు. “దేవునికి మహిమ చెల్లించు. ఈ మనిషి పాపాత్ముడు అని మాకు తెలుసు” అని అతనితో అన్నారు.
So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”
25 ౨౫ అందుకు వాడు, “ఆయన పాపాత్ముడో కాదో నాకేం తెలుసు? అయితే నాకు ఒక్కటి తెలుసు. నేను గుడ్డివాడుగా ఉండేవాణ్ణి, ఇప్పుడైతే చూస్తున్నాను” అన్నాడు.
He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
They said to him again, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
27 ౨౭ దానికి వాడు, “ఇంతకు ముందే మీకు చెప్పాను. మీరు వినలేదు. మళ్ళీ ఎందుకు వినాలనుకుంటున్నారు? మీరు కూడా ఆయన శిష్యులు కావాలనుకుంటున్నారా ఏంటి?” అని వారితో అన్నాడు.
He answered them, “I told you already, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t also want to become his disciples, do you?”
They insulted him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
29 ౨౯ దేవుడు మోషేతో మాట్లాడాడని తెలుసు కానీ ఈ మనిషి విషయమైతే అసలు ఇతడు ఎక్కడి నుండి వచ్చాడో కూడా తెలియదు” అంటూ వాణ్ణి బాగా దూషించారు.
We know that God has spoken to Moses. But as for this man, we don’t know where he comes from.”
30 ౩౦ అయితే వాడు, “ఆయన ఎక్కడి నుండి వచ్చాడో కూడా మీకు తెలియక పోవడం ఆశ్చర్యంగా ఉంది. ఏది ఏమైనా ఆయన నా కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు.
The man answered them, “How amazing! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.
31 ౩౧ దేవుడు పాపుల ప్రార్థనలు వినడని మనకు తెలుసు. అయితే దేవునిలో భక్తి కలిగి ఆయన ఇష్టాన్ని జరిగిస్తే అతని ప్రార్థనలు ఆయన వింటాడు.
We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, he listens to him.
32 ౩౨ గుడ్డివాడిగా పుట్టిన వ్యక్తి కళ్ళు ఎవరైనా తెరిచినట్టు లోకం మొదలైనప్పటి నుండి ఎవరూ వినలేదు. (aiōn g165)
Since the world began it has never been heard of that anyone opened the eyes of someone born blind. (aiōn g165)
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
34 ౩౪ దానికి వారు, “పాపిగా పుట్టిన వాడివి, నువ్వు మాకు బోధిస్తున్నావా?” అని చెప్పి వాణ్ణి తమ సమాజ మందిరం నుండి బహిష్కరించారు.
They answered him, “You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?” Then they threw him out.
35 ౩౫ పరిసయ్యులు వాణ్ణి బహిష్కరించారని యేసు విన్నాడు. ఆయన వాణ్ణి కలుసుకుని, “నువ్వు దేవుని కుమారుడిలో విశ్వాసముంచుతున్నావా?” అని వాణ్ణి అడిగాడు.
Yeshua heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”
He answered, “Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?”
Yeshua said to him, “You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you.”
He said, “Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped him.
39 ౩౯ అప్పుడు యేసు, “‘చూడనివారు చూడాలి. చూసేవారు గుడ్డివారు కావాలి’ అనే తీర్పు జరగడం కోసం నేను ఈ లోకంలోకి వచ్చాను” అన్నాడు.
Yeshua said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”
40 ౪౦ ఆయనకు దగ్గరలో ఉన్న పరిసయ్యుల్లో కొంత మంది ఆ మాట విని, “అయితే మేము కూడా గుడ్డివాళ్ళమేనా?” అని అడిగారు.
Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”
41 ౪౧ అందుకు యేసు, “మీరు గుడ్డివారైతే మీకు పాపం ఉండేది కాదు. కానీ ‘మాకు చూపు ఉంది’ అని మీరు చెప్పుకుంటున్నారు కాబట్టి మీ పాపం నిలిచి ఉంటుంది” అని చెప్పాడు.
Yeshua said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
