1 ౧ యెహోయాకీము కొడుకు కొన్యాకు బదులుగా బబులోనురాజు నెబుకద్నెజరు యూదా దేశంలో రాజుగా నియమించిన యోషీయా కొడుకు సిద్కియా రాజ్యపాలన చేస్తూ ఉన్నాడు.
and to reign king Zedekiah son: child Josiah underneath: instead Coniah son: child Jehoiakim which to reign Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon in/on/with land: country/planet Judah
2 ౨ అతడుగాని, అతని సేవకులుగాని, దేశప్రజలుగాని యెహోవా ప్రవక్త అయిన యిర్మీయా ద్వారా యెహోవా చెప్పిన మాటలు పట్టించుకోలేదు.

3 ౩ రాజైన సిద్కియా షెలెమ్యా కొడుకు యెహుకలునూ, యాజకుడైన మయశేయా కొడుకు జెఫన్యానూ, ప్రవక్త అయిన యిర్మీయా దగ్గరికి పంపి “మా పక్షంగా మన దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థన చెయ్యి,” అని అన్నారు.

5 ౫ ఫరో సైన్యం ఐగుప్తులోనుంచి బయలుదేరినప్పుడు, యెరూషలేమును ముట్టడి వేస్తున్న కల్దీయులు ఆ విషయం విని యెరూషలేమును విడిచి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.

7 ౭ “ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఇలా అంటున్నాడు, నన్ను అడిగి తెలుసుకోమని నిన్ను నా దగ్గరికి పంపిన యూదా రాజుతో నువ్వు ఈ విధంగా చెప్పాలి, ‘చూడు, మీకు సాయం చెయ్యడానికి బయలుదేరి వస్తున్న ఫరో సైన్యం తమ స్వదేశమైన ఐగుప్తుకు తిరిగి వెళ్ళిపోయింది.
thus to say LORD God Israel thus to say to(wards) king Judah [the] to send: depart [obj] you to(wards) me to/for to seek me behold strength: soldiers Pharaoh [the] to come out: come to/for you to/for help to return: return to/for land: country/planet his Egypt
8 ౮ కల్దీయులు మళ్ళీ తిరిగి వస్తారు. వాళ్ళు వచ్చి ఈ పట్టణం మీద యుద్ధం చేసి దాని పట్టుకుని అగ్నితో కాల్చేస్తారు.’”

9 ౯ యెహోవా ఇలా అంటున్నాడు. “కల్దీయులు కచ్చితంగా మా దగ్గర నుంచి వెళ్ళిపోతున్నారు,” అని మిమ్మల్ని మీరు మోసం చేసుకోకండి. ఎందుకంటే, వాళ్ళు వెళ్లనే వెళ్లరు.

10 ౧౦ మీతో యుద్ధం చేసే కల్దీయుల సైన్యమంతటినీ మీరు హతం చేసి వాళ్ళల్లో గాయపడిన వాళ్ళను మాత్రమే మిగిల్చినా, వాళ్ళే తమ గుడారాల్లోనుంచి వచ్చి ఈ పట్టణాన్ని అగ్నితో కాల్చేస్తారు.

12 ౧౨ అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా బెన్యామీను దేశంలో తన వాళ్ళ దగ్గర ఒక భూభాగం తీసుకోడానికి యెరూషలేము నుంచి బయలు దేరాడు.

14 ౧౪ కాని యిర్మీయా “అది నిజం కాదు. నేను కల్దీయుల్లో చేరడం లేదు” అన్నాడు. అయితే అతడు యిర్మీయా మాట వినలేదు. ఇరీయా యిర్మీయాను పట్టుకుని అధికారుల దగ్గరికి తీసుకొచ్చాడు.

17 ౧౭ తరువాత రాజైన సిద్కియా అతన్ని రప్పించడానికి ఒకణ్ణి పంపి, అతన్ని తన ఇంటికి పిలిపించి “యెహోవా దగ్గర నుంచి ఏ మాటైనా వచ్చిందా?” అని ఏకాంతంగా అతన్ని అడిగాడు. యిర్మీయా “వచ్చింది, నిన్ను బబులోను రాజు చేతికి అప్పగించడం జరుగుతుంది” అన్నాడు.

18 ౧౮ అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా, రాజైన సిద్కియాతో ఇంకా ఇలా అన్నాడు. “నేను నీ పట్ల, నీ సేవకుల పట్ల, ఈ ప్రజల పట్ల ఏ పాపం చేశానని నన్ను చెరసాల్లో వేశావు?
and to say Jeremiah to(wards) [the] king Zedekiah what? to sin to/for you and to/for servant/slave your and to/for people [the] this for to give: put [obj] me to(wards) house: home [the] prison

20 ౨౦ కాని, రాజా, నా యేలినవాడా! విను. నా అభ్యర్ధన నీ ఎదుటకు రానివ్వు. నన్ను మళ్ళీ లేఖికుడైన యోనాతాను ఇంటికి తిరిగి పంపొద్దు. పంపితే నేను ఇంక అక్కడే చనిపోతాను.”

21 ౨౧ కాబట్టి రాజైన సిద్కియా ఆజ్ఞ జారీ చేశాడు. అతని సేవకులు ఆ ప్రాంగణంలో ఉన్న చెరసాలలో యిర్మీయాను పెట్టారు. పట్టణంలో రొట్టెలున్నంత వరకూ రొట్టెలు కాల్చేవాళ్ళ వీధిలోనుంచి ప్రతిరోజూ ఒక రొట్టె అతనికి ఇస్తూ వచ్చారు. కాబట్టి సేవకుల ప్రాంగణంలో ఉన్న చెరసాలలో యిర్మీయా ఉన్నాడు.
