యిర్మీయా 26
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying: —
2 ౨ “యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమిటంటే, నువ్వు యెహోవా మందిర ఆవరణంలో నిలబడి, నేను నీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించే మాటలన్నిటిని యెహోవా మందిరంలో ఆరాధించడానికి వచ్చే యూదా పౌరులందరికీ ప్రకటించు. వాటిలో ఒక మాట కూడా విడిచిపెట్టవద్దు.
Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of the house of Jehovah, and speak to those who come from all the cities of Judah to worship in the house of Jehovah all the words which I have commanded thee to speak to them; abate not a word.
3 ౩ ఒకవేళ వాళ్ళు విని తమ దుర్మార్గాన్ని విడిచిపెడితే వాళ్ల మీదికి రప్పిస్తానని చెప్పిన విపత్తును తప్పిస్తాను.”
If peradventure they will hearken and turn every one from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of their evil doings.
And thou shalt say to them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,
5 ౫ మీరు నా మాటలు విని నేను మీకు నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని అనుసరించకపోతే, నేను ప్రతిసారీ పంపిస్తున్న నా సేవకులైన ప్రవక్తల మాటలు మీరు వినకపోతే
to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, rising early and sending, and ye have not hearkened,
6 ౬ నేను షిలోహుకు చేసినట్టు ఈ మందిరానికి కూడా చేస్తాను. ఈ పట్టణాన్ని భూమిపై ఉన్న రాజ్యాలన్నిటికీ శాపంగా చేస్తాను.”
then will I make this house like Shiloh, and this city will I make a curse to all the nations of the earth.
And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.
8 ౮ అయితే యిర్మీయా యెహోవా చెప్పమని తనకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన మాటలన్నీ ప్రజలందరికీ చెప్పడం ముగించిన తరువాత యాజకులూ ప్రవక్తలూ ప్రజలంతా అతణ్ణి పట్టుకుని “నువ్వు తప్పకుండా చావాలి.
And when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to all the people, then the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, and said, Thou shalt surely die!
9 ౯ ఈ మందిరం షిలోహులాగా అవుతుందనీ ఈ పట్టణంలో ఎవరూ నివసించరనీ, పట్టణం పాడైపోతుందనీ యెహోవా పేరున నువ్వు ఎందుకు ప్రకటిస్తున్నావు?” అన్నారు. ప్రజలంతా యెహోవా మందిరంలో యిర్మీయా చుట్టూ గుమికూడారు.
Why dost thou prophesy in the name of Jehovah, and say, This house shall be as Shiloh, and this city shall be made desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were assembled together against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.
10 ౧౦ యూదా అధికారులు ఈ మాటలు విని రాజ భవనంలో నుంచి యెహోవా మందిరానికి వచ్చి, యెహోవా మందిరపు కొత్త ద్వారం ప్రవేశంలో కూర్చున్నారు.
When the princes of Judah heard these things, they went up from the king's house to the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entrance of the new gate of the house of Jehovah.
11 ౧౧ యాజకులతో, ప్రవక్తలతో, అధిపతులతో, ప్రజలందరితో వాళ్ళు ఇలా అన్నారు. “మీరు చెవులారా విన్నట్టుగా ఈ వ్యక్తి ఈ పట్టణానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రకటిస్తున్నాడు, కాబట్టి ఇతడు చావడం సమంజసమే.”
Then spake the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying: This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12 ౧౨ అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా అధికారులందరితో ప్రజలందరితో ఇలా చెప్పాడు “‘ఈ మందిరానికీ ఈ పట్టణానికీ వ్యతిరేకంగా మీరు విన్న మాటలన్నీ ప్రకటించు’ అని యెహోవా నన్ను పంపాడు.
Then spake Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying: Jehovah hath sent me to prophesy against this house, and against this city, all the words which ye have heard.
13 ౧౩ కాబట్టి మీరు ఇప్పుడైనా మీ మార్గాలనూ మీ ప్రవర్తననూ చక్కపరచుకుని మీ యెహోవా దేవుని మాట వినండి. యెహోవా మీమీదికి తేవాలనుకున్న ఆపద రాకుండా చేస్తాడు.
But now amend ye your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of Jehovah, your God, and Jehovah will repent of the evil which he hath pronounced against you.
And as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do to me as it seemeth good and right in your eyes.
15 ౧౫ అయితే ఈ మాటలన్నీ చెప్పడానికి నిజంగా యెహోవా మీ దగ్గరికి నన్ను పంపాడు. కాబట్టి, మీరు నన్ను చంపితే నిర్దోషి రక్తాపరాధం మీ మీదికీ ఈ పట్టణం మీదికీ దాని నివాసుల మీదికీ తెచ్చుకున్న వాళ్ళవుతారు. దీనిని మీరు కచ్చితంగా తెలుసుకోవాలి.”
But know ye for certain that, if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and its inhabitants; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.
16 ౧౬ అప్పుడు అధిపతులు, ప్రజలంతా యాజకులతో ప్రవక్తలతో ఇలా అన్నారు. “ఈ వ్యక్తి మన యెహోవా దేవుని పేరున మనతో మాట్లాడాడు కాబట్టి ఇతడు చావడం సరి కాదు.”
Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and the prophets: This man is not worthy to die, for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, our God.
Certain elders of the land also rose up, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying:
18 ౧౮ “యూదా రాజు హిజ్కియా రోజుల్లో మోరషు ఊరివాడు మీకా ప్రవచిస్తూ ఉండేవాడు. అతడు యూదా ప్రజలందరితో ఇలా చెప్పాడు. సేనల అధిపతి యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమిటంటే, సీయోనును పొలంలాగా దున్నడం జరుగుతుంది. యెరూషలేము రాళ్ల కుప్ప అవుతుంది. మందిరమున్న పర్వతం అరణ్యంలోని కొండలాగా అవుతుంది.
Micah, the Morasthite, prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps of stones, and the mountain of the house [[of Jehovah]] as the heights of a forest.
19 ౧౯ యూదా రాజు హిజ్కియా గానీ యూదా ప్రజలు గానీ అతణ్ణి చంపారా? రాజు యెహోవా పట్ల భయభక్తులు కలిగి ఆయనను వేడుకుంటే వాళ్లకు చేస్తానన్న విపత్తు చేయలేదు కదా! అయితే మన మీదికి మనమే గొప్ప కీడు తెచ్చుకుంటున్నాము” అని చెప్పారు.
Did Hezekiah, king of Judah, and all Judah, put him to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and beseech Jehovah, so that Jehovah repented of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Shall we then bring so great an evil upon ourselves?
20 ౨౦ కిర్యత్యారీము వాసి షెమయా కొడుకు ఊరియా అనే ఒకడు యెహోవా పేరున ప్రవచిస్తూ ఉండేవాడు. అతడు యిర్మీయా చెప్పిన మాటల్లాగే ఈ పట్టణానికీ ఈ దేశానికీ వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రవచించాడు.
There was also another man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah, the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and this land, according to all the words of Jeremiah;
21 ౨౧ యెహోయాకీం రాజు, అతని శూరులంతా అధికారులంతా అతని మాటలు విన్నప్పుడు, రాజు అతణ్ణి చంపాలని చూశాడు. ఊరియా అది తెలుసుకుని భయపడి ఐగుప్తుకు పారిపోయాడు.
and when Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled and went into Egypt.
22 ౨౨ అయినప్పటికీ యెహోయాకీం రాజు, అక్బోరు కొడుకు ఎల్నాతానునూ అతనితో కూడా కొంతమందిని ఐగుప్తుకు పంపాడు.
But Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt,
23 ౨౩ వాళ్ళు ఐగుప్తు నుంచి ఊరియాను యెహోయాకీం రాజు దగ్గరికి తెచ్చారు. రాజు కత్తితో అతణ్ణి చంపి సాధారణ ప్రజల సమాధుల్లో అతని శవాన్ని పాతిపెట్టాడు.
and they brought Urijah out of Egypt, and carried him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
Nevertheless, the hand of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, was with Jeremiah, that he should not be delivered into the hand of the people, to be put to death.
