యెషయా~ గ్రంథము 42
1 ౧ ఇదిగో ఈయనే నేను ప్రోత్సహించే నా సేవకుడు, నేను ఎన్నుకున్నవాడు, నా ప్రాణప్రియుడు. ఆయనలో నా ఆత్మను ఉంచాను. ఆయన ఈ లోక రాజ్యాలపై తన న్యాయాన్ని నెలకొల్పుతాడు.
Behold my servant, whom I uphold, My chosen, in whom my soul delighteth, I have put my spirit upon him; He shall cause law to go forth to the nations.
He shall not cry aloud, nor lift up his voice, Nor cause it to be heard in the street.
3 ౩ నలిగిన రెల్లును ఆయన విరవడు. రెపరెపలాడుతున్న వత్తిని ఆర్పడు. ఆయన న్యాయాన్ని నమ్మకంగా అమలుచేస్తాడు.
The bruised reed shall he not break, And the glimmering flax shall he not quench; He shall send forth law according to truth.
4 ౪ భూమి మీద న్యాయాన్ని స్థాపించే వరకూ ఆయన అలసిపోడు, నిరాశ చెందడు. సముద్ర ద్వీపాలు అతని ఆజ్ఞల కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తాయి.
He shall not fail, nor become weary, Until he shall have established justice in the earth. And distant nations shall wait for his law.
5 ౫ ఆకాశాలను చేసి వాటిని విశాలపరచి, భూమినీ దానిలోని సమస్త జీవుల్నీ చేసి, దాని మీద ఉన్న మనుషులకు ఊపిరినీ, దానిలో జీవించే వారికి జీవాన్నీ ఇస్తున్న దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఇలా సెలవిస్తున్నాడు,
Thus saith God Jehovah, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth, and that which springeth forth from it, Who gave breath to the people upon it, And spirit to them that walk thereon:
6 ౬ “గుడ్డివారి కళ్ళు తెరవడానికీ బందీలను చెరలో నుండి బయటికి తేవడానికీ చీకటి గుహల్లో నివసించే వారిని వెలుగులోకి తేవడానికీ ఆయన వస్తాడు.
I, Jehovah, have called thee for salvation; I will hold thee by the hand; I will defend thee, and make thee a covenant to the people, A light to the nations;
7 ౭ యెహోవా అనే నేనే నీతి గురించి నిన్ను పిలిచి నీ చెయ్యి పట్టుకున్నాను. నిన్ను నిలబెట్టి ప్రజలకు ఒక నిబంధనగా యూదేతర జాతులకు వెలుగుగా నియమించాను.
To open the blind eyes, To bring out the prisoners from the prison, And them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.
8 ౮ నేనే యెహోవాను. నా పేరు ఇదే. నా మహిమను మరెవరితోనూ పంచుకోను. నాకు చెందాల్సిన ఘనతను విగ్రహాలకు చెందనియ్యను.
I am Jehovah, that is my name; And my glory will I not give to another, Nor my praise to graven images.
9 ౯ గతంలో చెప్పిన విషయాలు జరిగాయి కదా, ఇదిగో కొత్త సంగతులు మీకు చెబుతున్నాను. అవి జరగక ముందే వాటిని మీకు వెల్లడి చేస్తున్నాను.”
The former things, behold! they are come to pass, And new things do I now declare; Before they spring forth, I make them known to you.
10 ౧౦ సముద్ర ప్రయాణాలు చేసేవారు, సముద్రంలో ఉన్నవన్నీ, ద్వీపాలూ, వాటిలో నివసించేవారు, మీరంతా యెహోవాకు ఒక కొత్త పాట పాడండి. భూమి అంచుల నుండి ఆయనకు స్తుతులు చెల్లించండి.
Sing to Jehovah a new song; His praise to the ends of the earth; Ye that go down upon the sea, and all that fill it; Ye distant coasts, and ye that dwell therein!
11 ౧౧ ఎడారీ, పట్టణాలూ, కేదారు ప్రాంతంలోని గ్రామాలూ సంతోషంతో కేకలు వేస్తాయి. సెల ప్రాంతవాసులు పాటలు పాడతారు. పర్వతశిఖరాల నుండి వారు కేకలు వేస్తారు.
Let the desert cry aloud, and the cities thereof; The villages, that Kedar inhabiteth; Let the inhabitants of the rock sing; Let them shout from the top of the mountains!
Let them give glory to Jehovah, And proclaim his praise in distant lands!
13 ౧౩ యెహోవా శూరునిలాగా బయటికి కదిలాడు. యోధునిలాగా రోషంతో ఆయన బయలుదేరాడు. తన శత్రువులను ఎదిరిస్తూ ఆయన హుంకరిస్తాడు. వారికి తన శూరత్వాన్ని కనపరుస్తాడు.
Jehovah shall march forth like a hero; Like a mighty warrior shall he rouse his indignation, He shall cry aloud; he shall shout the war-cry, And show himself mighty against his enemies.
14 ౧౪ చాలాకాలం నుండి నేను మౌనంగా ఉన్నాను. నన్ను నేను అణచుకుంటూ మాట్లాడకుండా ఉన్నాను. ప్రసవ వేదనతో ఉన్న స్త్రీలాగా నేను బలవంతంగా ఊపిరి తీస్తూ ఒగరుస్తూ ఉన్నాను.
“I have long held my peace; I have been still and refrained myself; But now will I cry like a woman in travail; I will destroy and swallow up at once.
15 ౧౫ పర్వతాలూ కొండలూ పాడైపోయేలా, వాటి మీద ఉన్న చెట్లన్నిటినీ ఎండిపోయేలా చేస్తాను. నదులను ద్వీపాలుగా మారుస్తాను. నీటి మడుగులు ఆరిపోయేలా చేస్తాను.
I will lay waste mountains and hills, And dry up all their herbs. I will make the river solid land, And dry up the pools of water.
16 ౧౬ గుడ్డివారిని వారికి తెలియని దారిలో తీసుకువస్తాను. వారు నడవని మార్గాల్లో వారిని నడిపిస్తాను. వారి చీకటిని వెలుగుగా, వంకరదారులను తిన్నగా చేస్తాను. ఈ పనులన్నీ నేను చేస్తాను. వారిని నేను విడిచిపెట్టను.
Then will I lead the blind in a way which they know not, And in unknown paths will I guide them; I will make darkness light before them, And crooked paths straight; These things will I do for them, and not forsake them.”
17 ౧౭ చెక్కిన విగ్రహాలపై నమ్మకముంచి, పోతవిగ్రహాలతో, “మీరే మా దేవుళ్ళు” అని చెప్పేవారు వెనక్కి మళ్ళి సిగ్గు పడతారు.
Then shall they be turned back, and be put to shame, Who trust in graven images; Who say to molten images, “Ye are our gods!”
Hear, O ye deaf! And look, ye blind, and see!
19 ౧౯ నా సేవకుడు తప్ప గుడ్డివాడు మరెవడు? నేను పంపిన నా దూత తప్ప చెవిటివాడు మరెవడు? నాతో నిబంధనలో ఉన్నవానికంటే, యెహోవా సేవకుని కంటే గుడ్డివాడు ఎవడు?
Who is blind, if not my servant? And who so deaf as my messenger, whom I send? Who so blind as the friend of God, So blind as the servant of Jehovah?
20 ౨౦ నువ్వు చాలా విషయాలు చూస్తున్నావు గానీ గ్రహించలేకపోతున్నావు. చెవులు తెరిచే ఉన్నాయి గానీ వినడం లేదు.
Thou seest many things, but regardest them not; Thou hast thine ears open, but hearest not!
It pleased Jehovah for his goodness' sake To give him a law, great and glorious;
22 ౨౨ అయితే ఈ ప్రజలు దోపిడీకి గురయ్యారు. వారంతా గుహల్లో చిక్కుకుపోయారు, వారిని బంధకాల్లో ఉంచారు. వారు దోపుడు పాలైనప్పుడు వారినెవరూ విడిపించలేదు. అపహరణకు గురైనప్పుడు “వారిని తిరిగి తీసుకురండి” అని ఎవరూ చెప్పలేదు.
And yet it is a robbed and plundered people; They are all of them bound in prisons, And hid in dungeons; They have become a spoil, and none delivereth; A prey, and none saith, “Restore!”
Who is there among you that will give ear to this, That will listen and attend for the time to come?
24 ౨౪ వారు యెహోవాకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పాపం చేశారు. ఆయన మార్గాల్లో నడుచుకోలేదు. ఆయన ఉపదేశాన్ని తిరస్కరించారు. అందుకు యెహోవాయే యాకోబును దోపుడు సొమ్ముగా అప్పగించాడు. ఇశ్రాయేలును దోచుకునేవారికి అప్పగించాడు.
Who gave Jacob to be a spoil, And Israel to plunderers? Was it not Jehovah, against whom we sinned, In whose ways we would not walk, And whose laws we would not obey?
25 ౨౫ దాని కారణంగానే ఆయన వారిమీద తన కోపాగ్నినీ యుద్ధ వినాశనాన్నీ కుమ్మరించాడు. అది వారి చుట్టూ అగ్నిని రాజబెట్టింది గానీ వారు గ్రహించలేదు. అది వారిని కాల్చింది గానీ వారు దాన్ని పట్టించుకోలేదు.
Therefore hath he poured out upon Israel the fury of his wrath, and the violence of war; It kindled a flame around about him, yet he did not regard it; It set him on fire, yet he laid it not to heart.
