యెషయా~ గ్రంథము 20

1 ౧ అష్షూరు రాజు సర్గోను తర్తానుని అష్డోదుకి పంపాడు. తర్తాను ఆ సంవత్సరం అష్డోదు ప్రజలతో యుద్ధం చేసి ఆ పట్టణాన్ని ఆక్రమించుకున్నాడు.

In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, ) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;

2 ౨ ఆ రోజుల్లో యెహోవా ఆమోజు కొడుకు యెషయా ద్వారా మాట్లాడి ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “నువ్వు వెళ్ళు. నీ నడుముకి కట్టుకున్న గోనె పట్టా విప్పు. నీ పాదాలకున్న జోళ్ళు విడిచిపెట్టు.” అతడు అలాగే చేశాడు. చెప్పులు లేకుండా, వట్టి కాళ్ళతో నడిచాడు.

At the same time spoke the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

3 ౩ అప్పుడు యెహోవా ఇలా అన్నాడు. “ఐగుప్తు, ఇతియోపియాలకు ఒక సూచనగా, ఒక శకునంగా నా సేవకుడు యెషయా మూడు సంవత్సరాలు నగ్నంగా, పాదరక్షలు లేకుండా తిరిగాడు.

And the LORD said, As my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years [for] a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Cush;

4 ౪ అలాగే అష్షూరు రాజు బందీలుగా ఉన్న ఐగుప్తు ప్రజలనూ, ప్రవాసులైన ఇతియోపియా ప్రజలనూ వాళ్ళలో పిల్లలనూ, పెద్దలనూ దిగంబరులుగా చేసి పాదరక్షలు లేకుండా తీసుకు వెళ్తాడు. ఐగుప్తు ప్రజలకు అవమానం కలిగేలా వాళ్ళ పిరుదులపై బట్టలు లేకుండా చేసి తీసుకుపోతాడు.

So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Cushites captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with [their] hind-parts uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

5 ౫ వాళ్ళు ఇతియోపియా ప్రజలపై నమ్మకం ఉంచి, ఐగుప్తును తమకు గర్వకారణంగా ఎంచారు కాబట్టి వాళ్ళు దిగులు పడతారు. సిగ్గుపడిపోతారు.

And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Cush their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

6 ౬ ఆ రోజున ఆ సముద్ర తీరాల్లో నివసించే వాళ్ళు అష్షూరు రాజు నుండి తప్పించుకోవాలని ‘మనం సహాయం కోసం వీళ్ళ దగ్గరకి పరుగు తీశాం. నిజంగా వీళ్ళే మనకు ఆధారమని నమ్మాం. ఇప్పుడు మనం ఎలా తప్పించుకుంటాం?’ అని చెప్పుకుంటారు.”

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such [is] our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
