దినవృత్తాంతములు~ రెండవ~ గ్రంథము 17
1 ౧ ఆసా తరువాత అతని కుమారుడు యెహోషాపాతు రాజై ఇశ్రాయేలు తన మీదికి రాకుండ తన రాజ్యాన్ని బలపరచుకున్నాడు.
And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
2 ౨ అతడు యూదా దేశంలోని ప్రాకార పురాలన్నిటిలో సైన్యాలను ఉంచి, యూదా దేశంలో తన తండ్రి ఆసా పట్టుకొన్న ఎఫ్రాయిము పట్టణాల్లో కావలి దండులను ఉంచాడు.
And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3 ౩ యెహోవా అతనికి సహాయం చేయగా యెహోషాపాతు తన పూర్వికుడు దావీదు ప్రారంభ దినాల్లో నడిచిన మార్గంలో నడుస్తూ
And Jehovah was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David, and did not seek for the Baalim,
4 ౪ బయలు దేవుళ్ళను పూజించకుండా తన తండ్రి దేవునిపై ఆధారపడి, ఇశ్రాయేలువారి చర్యల ప్రకారం గాక దేవుని ఆజ్ఞల ప్రకారం నడిచాడు.
but sought for the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
5 ౫ కాబట్టి యెహోవా అతని రాజ్యాన్ని స్థిరపరిచాడు. యూదావారంతా యెహోషాపాతుకు పన్ను కట్టారు. అతనికి ఐశ్వర్యం, ఘనత, సమృద్ధిగా కలిగింది.
Therefore Jehovah established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute, and he had riches and honor in abundance.
6 ౬ యెహోవా మార్గాల్లో నడవడానికి అతడు తన మనస్సులో దృఢ నిశ్చయం చేసుకుని, ఉన్నత స్థలాలనూ దేవతా స్తంభాలనూ యూదాలో నుండి తీసివేశాడు.
And his heart was lifted up in the ways of Jehovah. And furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 ౭ తన పాలన మూడవ సంవత్సరంలో యూదా పట్టణాల్లోని ప్రజలకు ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని బోధించడానికి అతడు బెన్హయీలు, ఓబద్యా, జెకర్యా, నెతనేలు, మీకాయా అనే పెద్దలను పంపాడు.
Also in the third year of his reign he sent his rulers, even Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
8 ౮ వారితో షెమయా, నెతన్యా, జెబద్యా, అశాహేలు, షెమిరామోతు, యెహోనాతాను, అదోనీయా, టోబీయా, టోబదోనీయా అనే లేవీయులనూ, ఎలీషామా, యెహోరాము అనే యజకులనూ పంపించాడు.
and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 ౯ వారు యెహోవా ధర్మశాస్త్ర గ్రంథం పట్టుకుని యూదావారి మధ్య ప్రకటిస్తూ, యూదా పట్టణాలన్నిటిలో సంచరిస్తూ ప్రజలకు బోధించారు.
And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Jehovah with them. And they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
10 ౧౦ యూదా దేశం చుట్టూ ఉన్న రాజ్యాలన్నిటి మీదికి యెహోవా భయం రావడం చేత ఎవరూ యెహోషాపాతుతో యుద్ధం చేయడానికి తెగించలేదు.
And the fear of Jehovah fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
11 ౧౧ ఫిలిష్తీయుల్లో కొందరు యెహోషాపాతుకు పన్ను, కానుకలు ఇస్తూ వచ్చారు. అరబీయులు కూడా అతనికి 7, 700 గొర్రె పొట్టేళ్లను, 7, 700 మేకపోతులను సమర్పించేవారు.
And some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.
And Jehoshaphat grew exceedingly great. And he built in Judah castles and cities of storage.
13 ౧౩ యూదాదేశపు పట్టణాల్లో అతనికి విస్తారమైన సంపద సమకూడింది. అతని కింద పరాక్రమశాలురు యెరూషలేములో ఉండేవారు.
And he had many works in the cities of Judah, and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
14 ౧౪ వీరి పూర్వీకుల వంశాల ప్రకారం వీరి సంఖ్య. యూదాలో సహస్రాధిపతులకు ప్రధాని అయిన అద్నా దగ్గర 3,00,000 మంది పరాక్రమశాలులున్నారు.
And this was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses. Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;
and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand;
16 ౧౬ అతని తరువాత జిఖ్రీ కుమారుడు, యెహోవాకు తనను తాను మనఃపూర్వకంగా సమర్పించుకొన్న అమస్యా. అతని దగ్గర 2,00,000 మంది పరాక్రమశాలులున్నారు.
and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Jehovah, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17 ౧౭ బెన్యామీనీయుల్లో ఎల్యాదా అనే పరాక్రమశాలి ఒకడున్నాడు. ఇతని దగ్గర విల్లు, డాలు, పట్టుకొనేవారు 2,00,000 మంది ఉన్నారు.
And of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
and next to him Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and eighty thousand ready prepared for war.
These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
