సమూయేలు~ మొదటి~ గ్రంథము 7
1 ౧ అప్పుడు కిర్యత్యారీము ప్రజలు వచ్చి యెహోవా మందసాన్ని తీసుకువెళ్ళి గిబియాలో కొండపై ఉన్న అబీనాదాబు ఇంటి దగ్గర ఉంచి దాన్ని కాపాడడం కోసం అతని కొడుకు ఎలియాజరును నియమించారు.
And the men of Kiryath-ye'arim came, and fetched up the ark of the Lord, and brought it unto the house of Abinadab on the hill, and Elazar his son they sanctified to guard the ark of the Lord.
2 ౨ మందసాన్ని కిర్యత్యారీములో ఉంచి ఇరవై ఏళ్లు నిండాయి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులంతా యెహోవాను అనుసరించాలని కోరుతూ చింతిస్తున్నారు.
And it came to pass, from the time the ark remained in Kiryath-ye'arim, and the time was long, and it was twenty years: that all the house of Israel followed anxiously after the Lord.
3 ౩ సమూయేలు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరినీ సమకూర్చి ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “మీరు మనస్ఫూర్తిగా యెహోవా వైపుకు తిరిగి, ఇతర దేవుళ్ళను, అష్తారోతు దేవుళ్ళను మీ మధ్యనుండి తీసివేసి, పట్టుదల గలిగి యెహోవా వైపు మీ మనస్సులను మళ్ళించి ఆయనను ఆరాధించండి. అప్పుడు ఆయన ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండి మిమ్మల్ని విడిపిస్తాడు.”
And Samuel said unto all the house of Israel, as followeth, If with all your heart ye do return unto the Lord, then put away the gods of the stranger and the 'Ashtaroth from your midst, and direct your heart unto the Lord, and serve him alone: and then will he deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 ౪ ఆ తరువాత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు బయలు దేవుళ్ళను, అష్తారోతు దేవుళ్ళను విడిచిపెట్టి యెహోవాను మాత్రమే సేవించడం మొదలుపెట్టారు.
Then did the children of Israel put away the Be'alim and the 'Ashtaroth, and served the Lord alone.
5 ౫ అప్పుడు సమూయేలు “ఇశ్రాయేలీయులంతా మిస్పా ప్రదేశానికి చేరుకోండి. నేను మీ తరపున యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థన చేస్తాను” అని చెప్పినప్పుడు
And Samuel said, Assemble all Israel together at Mizpah, and I will pray in your behalf unto the Lord.
6 ౬ వారు మిస్పాలో సమావేశమై నీళ్లు చేది యెహోవా సన్నిధిలో కుమ్మరించి ఆ రోజంతా ఉపవాసం ఉండి “యెహోవా దృష్టిలో మేమంతా పాపం చేశాం” అని ఒప్పుకున్నారు. సమూయేలు మిస్పాలో ఉంటూ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తీర్పు తీరుస్తూ న్యాయం జరిగిస్తున్నాడు.
And they assembled themselves together at Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the Lord. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 ౭ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మిస్పాలో సమకూడారని ఫిలిష్తీయులకు తెలిసినప్పుడు ఫిలిష్తీయ దండు వారి మీద దాడికి సిద్ధమయ్యారు. ఈ విషయం ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తెలిసినప్పుడు వారు ఫిలిష్తీయులకు భయపడి
And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel had assembled themselves at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 ౮ “మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండి మనలను రక్షించేలా మా కోసం ప్రార్థన చేయడం మానవద్దు” అని సమూయేలును వేడుకున్నారు.
And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Do not abstain, so as not to cry for us unto the Lord our God, that he may help us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9 ౯ సమూయేలు ఇంకా పాలు తాగడం మానని ఒక గొర్రెపిల్లను తెచ్చి యెహోవాకు సర్వాంగ హోమం అర్పించి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల తరఫున యెహోవాకు ప్రార్థించినపుడు యెహోవా అతని ప్రార్థన విన్నాడు.
And Samuel took one sucking lamb, and offered it for an entire burnt-offering unto the Lord: and Samuel cried unto the Lord in behalf of Israel; and the Lord answered him.
10 ౧౦ సమూయేలు దహనబలి అర్పిస్తున్న సమయంలో ఫిలిష్తీయులు యుద్ధం చేయడానికి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పైకి వచ్చారు. అయితే యెహోవా ఆ రోజు ఫిలిష్తీయుల మీదికి విపరీతంగా ఉరుములు ఉరిమేలా చేసి వారిని కల్లోలపరచడంతో వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల చేతిలో ఓడిపోయారు.
And as Samuel was offering up the burnt-offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but the Lord thundered with a loud noise on that day over the Philistines, and brought them into confusion, and they were smitten before Israel.
And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, as far as below Beth-car.
12 ౧౨ అప్పుడు సమూయేలు ఒక రాయి తీసుకుని మిస్పాకు, షేనుకు మధ్య దాన్ని నిలబెట్టి “ఇప్పటి వరకూ యెహోవా మనకు సహాయం చేశాడు” అని చెప్పి ఆ రాయికి “ఎబెనెజరు” అని పేరు పెట్టాడు.
And Samuel took one stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Eben-ha'ezer, saying, As far as this hath the Lord helped us.
13 ౧౩ ఈ విధంగా ఫిలిష్తీయులు అణగారిపోయి ఇశ్రాయేలు సరిహద్దుల్లోకి మళ్ళీ రాలేకపోయారు. సమూయేలు జీవించిన కాలమంతటిలో యెహోవా హస్తం ఫిలిష్తీయులకి విరోధంగా ఉంది.
So were the Philistines humbled, and they came no more into the territory of Israel; and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 ౧౪ ఫిలిష్తీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల నుండి ఆక్రమించుకొన్న పట్టణాలన్నీ వారికి తిరిగి వచ్చాయి. ఎక్రోను నుండి గాతు వరకూ ఉన్న గ్రామాలనూ వాటిలోని పొలాలనూ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలో నుండి విడిపించుకున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు, అమోరీయులకు మధ్య శాంతి ఏర్పడింది.
And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel came again to Israel, from 'Ekron even unto Gath, and their territory did Israel deliver out of the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Emorites.
And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 ౧౬ ప్రతి సంవత్సరమూ అతడు బేతేలుకు, గిల్గాలుకు, మిస్పాకు తిరుగుతూ, వివిధ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయం జరిగిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
And he went from year to year and traveled in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all these places.
17 ౧౭ అతని నివాసం రమాలో ఉన్నందువల్ల అక్కడికి తిరిగి వచ్చి అక్కడ కూడా న్యాయం జరిగిస్తూ వచ్చాడు. అతడు అక్కడ యెహోవాకు ఒక బలిపీఠం కట్టాడు.
And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar unto the Lord.
