దినవృత్తాంతములు~ మొదటి~ గ్రంథము 11
1 ౧ ఇదంతా అయ్యాక ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలందరూ హెబ్రోనులో ఉన్న దావీదు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. “ఇలా చూడు, మేము నీకు రక్తమాంసాల్లాంటి వాళ్ళం. నీ సొంత బంధువులం.
And gathered are all Israel unto David to Hebron, saying, 'Lo, thy bone and thy flesh [are] we;
2 ౨ ఇటీవల సౌలు మాపై రాజుగా ఉన్నప్పుడు నువ్వు ఇశ్రాయేలు సైన్యాలను నడిపిస్తూ ఉన్నావు. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీతో ‘నా ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు నీవు కాపరిగా ఉంటావు. వారిమీద అధిపతిగా ఉండి పరిపాలన చేస్తావు’ అని చెప్పాడు కదా” అని దావీదుతో అన్నారు.
even in time past, even in Saul's being king, it is thou who art taking out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah thy God saith to thee: Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art leader over My people Israel.'
3 ౩ ఇలా ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల పెద్దలంతా హెబ్రోనులో ఉన్న రాజు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. అప్పుడు రాజైన దావీదు హెబ్రోనులో యెహోవా సన్నిధిలో వారితో నిబంధన చేశాడు. వారంతా కలసి ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలందరి పై రాజుగా దావీదుకి అభిషేకం చేశారు. ఈ విధంగా సమూయేలు ప్రకటించిన యెహోవా మాట నెరవేరింది.
And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Samuel.
4 ౪ ఆ తరువాత దావీదూ, ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలంతా యెరూషలేము అనే పేరున్న యెబూసుకి వెళ్ళారు. అప్పటికి ఆ దేశంలో స్థానికులైన యెబూసీయులు నివసిస్తున్నారు.
And David goeth, and all Israel, to Jerusalem — it [is] Jebus — and there the Jebusite, the inhabitants of the land.
5 ౫ యెబూసులో నివసించే స్థానికులు దావీదుతో “నువ్వు ఇక్కడికి రాలేవు” అన్నారు. కాని దావీదు అక్కడి సీయోను కోటని ఆక్రమించాడు. ఈ సీయోనునే “దావీదు పట్టణం” అంటారు.
And the inhabitants of Jebus say to David, 'Thou dost not come in hither;' and David captureth the fortress of Zion — it [is] the city of David.
6 ౬ దానికి ముందు దావీదు “ఎవరు మొదట యెబూసీయులపై దాడి చేస్తాడో అతడే సైన్యాధిపతి అవుతాడు” అని ప్రకటించాడు. దాంతో సెరూయా కొడుకైన యోవాబు అందరి కన్నా ముందుగా వారిపై దాడి చేశాడు. కాబట్టి యోవాబునే సైన్యాధిపతిగా నియమించారు.
And David saith, 'Whoever smiteth the Jebusite first doth become head and prince;' and go up first doth Joab son of Zeruiah and becometh head.
And David dwelleth in the fortress, therefore they have called it, 'City of David;'
8 ౮ దావీదు ఆ పట్టణాన్ని పునర్నిర్మించాడు. మిల్లో నుండి ప్రాకారం వరకూ పటిష్ట పరిచాడు. పట్టణంలో మిగిలిన ప్రాంతాలను యోవాబు పటిష్టపరిచాడు.
and he buildeth the city round about, from Millo, and unto the circumference, and Joab restoreth the rest of the city.
9 ౯ దావీదు అంతకంతకూ ఘనత పొందుతూ ఉన్నాడు. ఎందుకంటే సైన్యాలకు అధిపతి అయిన యెహోవా అతనికి తోడుగా ఉన్నాడు.
And David goeth, going on and becoming great, and Jehovah of Hosts [is] with him.
10 ౧౦ ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల విషయంలో యెహోవా మాటకు లోబడి ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలందరితో కలసి దావీదుని రాజుగా చేసినవాళ్ళూ, దావీదుతో కూడా శూరులుగా, బలవంతులుగా నిలిచిన వాళ్ళూ, నాయకులుగా ఉన్నవాళ్ళూ వీళ్ళే.
And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David hath, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of Jehovah, over Israel.
11 ౧౧ దావీదు దగ్గర శ్రేష్ఠులుగా ఉన్న ఆ శూరుల జాబితాలో ముప్ఫై మంది ఉన్నారు. వారిలో ప్రముఖుడు ఒక హక్మోనీ వాడి కొడుకైన యాషాబాము. ఇతను ఒక యుద్ధంలో కేవలం తన ఈటెతో మూడు వందల మందిని చంపాడు.
And this [is] an account of the mighty ones whom David hath: Jashobeam son of a Hachmonite [is] head of the thirty; he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, at one time.
12 ౧౨ ఇతని తరువాత పేరు అహోహీయుడైన దోదో కొడుకైన ఎలియాజరుది. ఇతడు ముగ్గురు బలవంతులుగా పేరు పొందిన వారిలో ఒకడు.
And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, he [is] among the three mighty;
13 ౧౩ ఇతడు పస్దమ్మీములో ఫిలిష్తీయులతో జరిగిన యుద్ధంలో దావీదుతో కూడా ఉన్నాడు. అక్కడ ఒక బార్లీ చేను ఉంది. మిగిలిన సైన్యం ఫిలిష్తీయులను చూసి పారిపోయారు.
he hath been with David in Pas-Dammim, and the Philistines have been gathered there to battle, and a portion of the field is full of barley, and the people have fled from the face of the Philistines,
14 ౧౪ అయితే వీళ్ళు ఆ చేని మధ్యలో నిలిచి ఫిలిష్తీయులను అడ్డుకుని వారిని హతమార్చారు. యెహోవా వారిని రక్షించి వాళ్లకు గొప్ప విజయం అనుగ్రహించాడు.
and they station themselves in the midst of the portion, and deliver it, and smite the Philistines, and Jehovah saveth — a great salvation.
15 ౧౫ ఆ ముప్ఫై మంది శూరుల్లో ప్రముఖులైన ఈ ముగ్గురూ అదుల్లాము అనే రాతి గుహలో ఉన్న దావీదు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. ఫిలిష్తీ సైన్యం రెఫాయీము లోయలో మజిలీ చేశారు.
And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the valley of Rephaim,
and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,
17 ౧౭ దావీదు బేత్లెహేము నీటి కోసం ఆశ పడ్డాడు. “బేత్లెహేములోని బావిలో నీళ్ళు నాకెవరు తెస్తారు? ఆ ఊరి ద్వారం దగ్గర ఉన్న బావి నీళ్ళు నా దాహం తీర్చడానికి నాకెవరు తెస్తారు?” అన్నాడు.
and David longeth, and saith, 'Who doth give me to drink water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate!'
18 ౧౮ కాబట్టి ఆ ముగ్గురు బలవంతులూ ఫిలిష్తీ సైన్యంలోకి చొరబడ్డారు. వారి మధ్యలో నుండి వెళ్ళి ఆ ఊరి ద్వారం దగ్గర బావిలోని నీళ్ళు తోడుకుని వాటిని దావీదుకు తెచ్చి ఇచ్చారు. కానీ దావీదు ఆ నీళ్ళు తాగేందుకు నిరాకరించాడు. వాటిని యెహోవాకు అర్పణగా పారబోసాడు.
And the three break through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water from the well of Beth-Lehem, that [is] at the gate, and bear and bring in unto David, and David hath not been willing to drink it, and poureth it out to Jehovah,
19 ౧౯ తరువాత ఇలా అన్నాడు “నేను ఈ నీళ్ళు తాగకుండా నా దేవుడు నన్ను కాపాడుతాడు గాక. వీళ్ళు తమ ప్రాణాలకు తెగించి తెచ్చిన ఈ నీళ్ళు వాళ్ళ రక్తం లాంటిది. దాన్నినేను ఎలా తాగగలను?” అన్నాడు. ఈ ముగ్గురు బలవంతులు ఇలాంటి కార్యాలు చేశారు.
and saith, 'Far be it from me, by my God, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;' and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] did the three mighty ones.
20 ౨౦ యోవాబు సోదరుడైన అబీషై ముగ్గురికీ నాయకుడు. ఒక యుద్ధంలో ఇతడు మూడు వందల మందిని కేవలం తన ఈటెతో హతమార్చాడు. అలా ఆ ముగ్గురితో పాటు తరచుగా ఇతని పేరు కూడా వినిపించేది.
And Abishai brother of Joab, he hath been head of the three: and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred — wounded, and hath a name among three.
21 ౨౧ ముగ్గురిలో ఇతనికి ఎక్కువ గౌరవం, కీర్తీ కలిగాయి. అయితే అతనికి కలిగిన కీర్తి పేరు మోసిన ఆ ముగ్గురు సైనికుల కీర్తికి సాటి కాలేదు.
Of the three by the two he is honoured, and becometh their head; and unto the [first] three he hath not come.
22 ౨౨ ఇంకా కబ్సెయేలు ఊరివాడు యెహోయాదా కొడుకు బెనాయా ఎంతో బలవంతుడు. తన పరాక్రమ కార్యాల వల్ల ఇతడు ఎంతో ప్రసిద్ధికెక్కాడు. ఇతడు మోయాబు వాడు అరీయేలు కొడుకులిద్దర్నీ చంపాడు. ఇంకా ఇతడు మంచు పడే కాలంలో ఒక బిలంలోకి దిగి అక్కడ ఒక సింహాన్ని చంపివేశాడు.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valour, of great deeds, from Kabzeel: he hath smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he hath gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.
23 ౨౩ ఒకసారి ఇతను ఏడున్నర అడుగుల ఎత్తున్న ఒక ఐగుప్తీయున్నిచంపాడు. ఆ ఐగుప్తీయుడి చేతిలో సాలెవాడి దండె అంత పెద్ద ఈటె ఉంది. బెనాయా వాడి మీదికి ఒక కర్ర పట్టుకుని వెళ్ళాడు. ఆ ఈటెను ఐగుప్తీయుడి చేతిలోనుండి లాక్కుని దానితోనే వాణ్ణి చంపివేశాడు.
And he hath smitten the man, the Egyptian — a man of measure, five by the cubit — and in the hand of the Egyptian [is] a spear like a beam of weavers, and he goeth down unto him with a rod, and taketh violently away the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slayeth him with his own spear.
These [things] hath Benaiah son of Jehoiada done, and hath a name among the three mighty ones.
25 ౨౫ ముప్ఫై మంది సైనికుల్లో అతణ్ణి గొప్పవాడిగా ఎంచారు, కానీ పేరు మోసిన ఆ ముగ్గురు వీరులకు సాటి కాలేదు. కానీ దావీదు ఇతణ్ణి అంగ రక్షకులపై అధిపతిగా నియమించాడు.
Of the thirty, lo, he [is] honoured, and unto the [first] three he hath not come, and David setteth him over his guard.
And the mighty ones of the forces [are] Asahel brother of Joab, Elhanan son of Dodo of Beth-Lehem,
Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi-Ezer the Annethothite,
Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
Maharai the Netophathite, Heled son of Baanah the Netophathite,
Ithai son of Ribai of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,
the sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan son of Shage the Hararite,
Ahiam son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal son of Ur,
Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,
Hezor the Carmelite, Naarai son of Ezbai,
Joel brother of Nathan, Mibhar son of Haggeri,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, bearer of the weapons of Joab son of Zeruiah,
Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
Uriah the Hittite, Zabad son of Ahlai,
Adina son of Shiza the Reubenite, head of the Reubenites, and by him thirty,
Hanan son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,
Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel sons of Hothan the Aroerite,
Jediael son of Shimri, and Joha his brother the Tizite,
Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel the Mesobaite.
