சகரியா 1
1 ௧ தரியு அரசாண்ட இரண்டாம் வருடம் எட்டாம் மாதத்திலே இத்தோவின் மகனான பெரகியாவின் மகனாகிய சகரியாவுக்கு உண்டான யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை:
In the eighth month, in the second year of [the reign of] Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, the son of Barachias, the son of Addo, the prophet, saying,
The Lord has been very angry with your fathers.
3 ௩ ஆகையால் நீ அவர்களை நோக்கி: சேனைகளின் யெகோவா உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்: என்னிடத்தில் திரும்புங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; அப்பொழுது நான் உங்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்புவேன் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord Almighty: Turn to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will turn to you, says the Lord of hosts.
4 ௪ உங்கள் முன்னோர்களைப்போல் இருக்காதீர்கள்; முந்தின தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்கள் பொல்லாத வழிகளையும், உங்கள் பொல்லாத செயல்களையும்விட்டுத் திரும்புங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்காமலும் என்னைக் கவனிக்காமலும் போனார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
And be you not as your fathers, whom the prophets before charged, saying, Thus says the Lord Almighty: Turn you from your evil ways, and from your evil practices: but they listened not, and attended not to listen to me, says the Lord.
Where are your fathers, and the prophets? Will they live for ever?
6 ௬ இல்லாமற்போனாலும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய என் ஊழியக்காரர்களுக்கு நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என் வார்த்தைகளும் என் தீர்மானங்களும் உங்கள் முன்னோர்களிடத்தில் பலிக்கவில்லையோ? எங்கள் வழிகளின்படியேயும், எங்கள் செயல்களின்படியாகவும் சேனைகளின் யெகோவா எங்களுக்குச் செய்ய தீர்மானித்தபடியே எங்களுக்குச் செய்தாரென்று அவர்கள் திரும்பவந்து சொன்னதில்லையோ என்று சொல் என்றார்.
But do you receive my words and mine ordinances, all that I command by my Spirit to my servants the prophets, who lived in the days of your fathers; and they answered and said, As the Lord Almighty determined to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our practices, so has he done to us.
7 ௭ தரியு அரசாண்ட இரண்டாம் வருடம், சேபாத் மாதமாகிய பதினோராம் மாதம் இருபத்திநான்காம் தேதியிலே, யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை இத்தோவின் மகனான பெரகியாவின் மகன் சகரியா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசிக்கு உண்டானது; அவன் சொன்னது:
On the twenty-fourth [day] in the eleventh month, this is the month Sabat, in the second year of [the reign of] Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, the son of Barachias, the son of Addo, the prophet, saying,
8 ௮ இதோ, இன்று இரவிலே சிவப்புக்குதிரையின்மேல் ஏறியிருந்த ஒரு மனிதனைக் கண்டேன்; அவர் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருக்கிற மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்றார்; அவருக்குப் பின்னாலே சிவப்பும், மங்கின நிறமும், வெண்மையுமான குதிரைகள் இருந்தன.
I saw by night, and behold a man mounted on a red horse, and he stood between the shady mountains; and behind him were red horses, and grey, and piebald, and white.
9 ௯ அப்பொழுது நான்: என் ஆண்டவரே, இவர்கள் யாரென்று கேட்டேன்; என்னுடன் பேசுகிற தூதனானவர்: இவர்கள் யாரென்று நான் உனக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னார்.
And I said, What are these, [my] lord? And the angel spoke with me said to me, I will show you what these [things] are.
10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்ற அந்த மனிதன் மறுமொழியாக: இவர்கள் பூமியெங்கும் சுற்றிப்பார்க்கக் யெகோவா அனுப்பினவர்கள் என்றார்.
And the man that stood between the mountains answered, and said to me, These are [they] whom the Lord has sent forth to go round the earth.
11 ௧௧ பின்பு அவர்கள் மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்ற யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் பூமியெங்கும் சுற்றிப்பார்த்தோம்; இதோ, பூமிமுழுவதும் அமைதலாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.
And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood between the mountains, and said, We have gone round all the earth, and, behold, all the earth is inhabited, and is at rest.
12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் மறுமொழியாக: சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவே, இந்த எழுபது வருடங்களாக நீர் கோபங்கொண்டிருக்கிற எருசலேமின்மேலும் யூதா பட்டணங்களின்மேலும் எதுவரை இரங்காதிருப்பீர் என்று சொல்ல,
Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord Almighty, how long will you have no mercy on Jerusalem, and the cities of Juda, which you has disregarded these seventy years?
13 ௧௩ அப்பொழுது யெகோவா, என்னுடன் பேசின தூதனுக்கு நல்வார்த்தைகளையும் ஆறுதலான வார்த்தைகளையும் மறுமொழியாகச் சொன்னார்.
And the Lord Almighty answered the angel that spoke with me good words and consolatory sayings.
14 ௧௪ அப்பொழுது என்னுடன் பேசின தூதன் என்னை நோக்கி: சேனைகளின் யெகோவா உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்: நான் எருசலேமுக்காகவும் சீயோனுக்காகவும் மகா வைராக்கியம் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
And the angel that spoke with me said to me, Cry out and say, Thus says the Lord Almighty; I have been jealous for Jerusalem and Sion with great jealousy.
15 ௧௫ நான் கொஞ்சங் கோபங்கொண்டிருந்தபோது அவர்கள் தங்கள் தீங்கை அதிகரிக்கத் தேடினபடியினால், சுகமாக வாழுகிற அன்னியமக்கள்மேல் நான் கடுங்கோபம்கொண்டேன்.
And I am very angry with the heathen that combine to attack [her]: forasmuch as I indeed was a little angry, but they combined to attack [her] for evil.
16 ௧௬ ஆகையால் மனஉருக்கத்தோடே எருசலேமினிடத்தில் திரும்பினேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; என் ஆலயம் அதிலே கட்டப்படும்; எருசலேமின்மேல் அளவுநூல் பிடிக்கப்படும் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று கூறு என்றார்.
Therefore thus says the Lord: I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; and my house shall be rebuilt in her, says the Lord Almighty, and a measuring line shall yet be stretched out over Jerusalem.
17 ௧௭ இன்னும் என் பட்டணங்கள் நன்மையினால் நிரம்பியிருக்கும்; இன்னும் யெகோவா சீயோனைத் தேற்றரவு செய்வார்; இன்னும் எருசலேமைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வார் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று மேலும் கூறு என்றார்.
And the angel that spoke with me said to me, Cry yet, and say, Thus says the Lord Almighty; Yet shall cities be spread abroad through prosperity; and the Lord shall yet have mercy upon Sion, and shall choose Jerusalem.
And I lifted up mine eyes and looked, and behold four horns.
19 ௧௯ அவைகள் என்னவென்று என்னுடன் பேசின தூதனைக் கேட்டேன்; அதற்கு அவர்: இவைகள் யூதாவையும், இஸ்ரவேலையும், எருசலேமையும் சிதறடித்த தேசங்கள் என்றார்.
And I said to the angel that spoke with me, What are these things, [my] lord? And he said to me, These are the horns that have scattered Juda, and Israel, and Jerusalem.
And the Lord showed me four artificers.
21 ௨௧ இவர்கள் என்ன செய்ய வருகிறார்களென்று கேட்டேன்; அதற்கு அவர்: ஒருவனும் தன் தலையை ஏறெடுக்கமுடியாதபடி அந்தக் கொம்புகள் யூதாவைச் சிதறடித்ததே, அவைகளுக்குப் பயமுறுத்துகிறதற்கும், யூதாவின் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கத் தங்கள் கொம்பை எடுத்த தேசங்களுடைய கொம்புகளை விழத்தள்ளுகிறதற்கும் இவர்கள் வந்தார்கள் என்றார்.
And I said, What are these coming to do? And he said, These are the horns that scattered Juda, and they broke Israel in pieces, and none of them lifted up his head: and these are come forth to sharpen them for their hands, [even] the four horns, the nations that lifted up the horn against the land of the Lord to scatter it.
