ரூத் 3
1 ௧ பின்பு அவள் மாமியாராகிய நகோமி அவளை நோக்கி: என் மகளே, நீ சுகமாக வாழ்ந்திருக்கும்படி நான் உனக்கு சவுக்கியத்தைத் தேடாமல் இருப்பேனோ?
And her mother-in-law Naomi says to her, “My daughter, do I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
2 ௨ நீ போவாசின் வேலைக்காரிகளோடு இருந்தாயே, அவன் நம்முடைய உறவினன் அல்லவா? இதோ, அவன் இன்று இரவு களத்திலே வாற்கோதுமை தூற்றுவான்.
And now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women you have been? Behold, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley tonight,
3 ௩ நீ குளித்து, எண்ணெய் பூசி, உன்னுடைய ஆடைகளை உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, அந்தக் களத்திற்குப்போ; அந்த மனிதன் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து முடிக்கும்வரைக்கும் அவனுடைய கண்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்படாமல் இரு.
and you have bathed, and anointed yourself, and put your garments on you, and gone down to the threshing-floor; do not let yourself be known to the man until he completes to eat and to drink;
4 ௪ அவன் படுத்துக்கொண்டபின்பு, அவன் படுத்திருக்கும் இடத்தை நீ பார்த்து போய், அவனுடைய கால்களின்மேல் மூடியிருக்கிற போர்வையை விலக்கி நீ படுத்துக்கொள்; அப்பொழுது நீ செய்யவேண்டியது என்னவென்று அவன் உனக்குச் சொல்லுவான் என்றாள்.
and it comes to pass, when he lies down, that you have known the place where he lies down, and have gone in, and uncovered his feet, and lain down—and he declares to you that which you do.”
And she says to her, “All that you say—I do.”
And she goes down [to] the threshing-floor, and does according to all that her mother-in-law commanded her
7 ௭ போவாஸ் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து, மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்து, ஒரு அம்பாரத்தின் அடியிலே வந்து படுத்துக்கொண்டான். அப்பொழுது அவள்: மெதுவாகச்சென்று, அவனுடைய கால்களின்மேல் மூடியிருக்கிற போர்வையை விலக்கிப் படுத்துக்கொண்டாள்.
And Boaz eats and drinks, and his heart is glad; and he goes in to lie down at the end of the heap; and she comes in gently, and uncovers his feet, and lies down.
8 ௮ நடுஇரவிலே, அந்த மனிதன் திடுக்கிட்டுத் திரும்பி, ஒரு பெண் தன்னுடைய பாதத்தின் அருகிலே படுத்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு,
And it comes to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembles, and turns himself, and behold, a woman is lying at his feet.
9 ௯ நீ யார் என்று கேட்டான்; அவள், நான் உம்முடைய அடியாளாகிய ரூத்; நீர் உம்முடைய அடியாளின்மேல் உம்முடைய போர்வையை விரியும்; நீர் உறவினன் என்றாள்.
And he says, “Who [are] you?” And she says, “I [am] Ruth your handmaid, and you have spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you [are] a redeemer.”
10 ௧0 அதற்கு அவன்: மகளே, நீ யெகோவாவால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவாயாக; நீ ஏழைகளும் பணக்காரர்களுமான வாலிபர்களின் பின்னே போகாததினால், உன்னுடைய முந்தின நற்குணத்தைவிட உன்னுடைய பிந்தின நற்குணம் உத்தமமாக இருக்கிறது.
And he says, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH, my daughter; you have dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning—not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.
11 ௧௧ இப்போதும் மகளே, நீ பயப்படாதே; உனக்கு வேண்டியபடியெல்லாம் செய்வேன்; நீ குணசாலி என்பதை என் மக்களாகிய ஊரார் எல்லோரும் அறிவார்கள்.
And now, my daughter, do not fear, all that you say I do to you, for all the gate of my people knows that you [are] a virtuous woman.
And now, surely, true, that I [am] a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.
13 ௧௩ இன்று இரவு தங்கியிரு; நாளைக்கு அவன் உன்னை உறவின்முறைப்படித் திருமணம்செய்யச் சம்மதித்தால் நல்லது, அவன் திருமணம் செய்யட்டும்; அவன் உன்னைத் திருமணம்செய்ய விருப்பமில்லாதிருந்தால் நான் உன்னை உறவின்முறைப்படித் திருமணம்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிடுகிறேன்; விடியற்காலம்வரை படுத்துக்கொண்டிரு என்றான்.
Lodge tonight, and it has been in the morning, if he redeems you, well: he redeems; and if he does not delight to redeem you, then I have redeemed you—I; YHWH lives! Lie down until the morning.”
14 ௧௪ அவள் விடியற்காலம்வரைக்கும் அவனுடைய பாதத்தின் அருகே படுத்திருந்து, களத்திற்கு ஒரு பெண் வந்ததாக ஒருவருக்கும் தெரிவிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று அவன் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியால், ஒருவர் முகம் ஒருவருக்குத் தெரிவதற்கு முன்னே எழுந்திருந்தாள்.
And she lies down at his feet until the morning, and rises before one discerns another; and he says, “Let it not be known that the woman has come into the floor.”
15 ௧௫ அவன் அவளை நோக்கி: நீ போர்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற போர்வையை விரித்துப்பிடி என்றான்; அவள் அதைப் பிடித்தபோது, அவன் அதிலே ஆறுபடி வாற்கோதுமையை அளந்துபோட்டு, அவள்மேல் தூக்கிவிட்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுவந்தான்.
And he says, “Give the covering which [is] on you, and keep hold on it”; and she keeps hold on it, and he measures six [measures] of barley, and lays [it] on her; and he goes into the city.
16 ௧௬ அவள் தன் மாமியாரிடம் வந்தபோது, அவள்: என் மகளே, உன் செய்தி என்ன என்று கேட்டாள்; அப்பொழுது அவள்: அந்த மனிதன் தனக்குச் செய்தவைகளையெல்லாம் அவளுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொன்னாள்.
And she comes to her mother-in-law, and she says, “Who [are] you, my daughter?” And she declares to her all that the man has done to her.
17 ௧௭ மேலும் அவர், நீ உன் மாமியாரிடத்திற்கு வெறுமையாகப் போகவேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லி, இந்த ஆறுபடி வாற்கோதுமையை எனக்குக் கொடுத்தார் என்றாள்.
And she says, “These six [measures] of barley he has given to me, for he said, You do not go in empty to your mother-in-law.”
18 ௧௮ அப்பொழுது அவள்: என் மகளே, இந்தக் காரியம் என்னவாக முடியும் என்று நீ அறியும்வரை பொறுமையாக இரு; அந்த மனிதன் இன்றைக்கு இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்து முடிக்கும்முன் ஓயமாட்டான் என்றாள்.
And she says, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter falls, for the man does not rest except he has completed the matter today.”
