ரோமர் 13
1 ௧ எந்த மனிதனும் உயர் அதிகாரம் உள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியவேண்டும்; ஏனென்றால், தேவனாலேயல்லாமல் ஒரு அதிகாரமும் இல்லை; உண்டாயிருக்கிற அதிகாரங்கள் தேவனாலே நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
Let every soul be subject to offices of authority that rank higher. For there is no office of authority if not by God, and the offices of authority that are by God are those that have been instituted.
2 ௨ எனவே, அதிகாரத்திற்கு எதிர்த்து நிற்கிறவன் தேவனுடைய நியமத்திற்கு எதிர்த்து நிற்கிறான்; அப்படி எதிர்த்து நிற்கிறவர்கள் தங்களுக்குத் தாங்களே தண்டனையை வரவழைத்துக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.
So that he who resists the office of authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and those who have opposed will receive condemnation to themselves.
3 ௩ மேலும் அதிகாரிகள் நல்ல செயல்களுக்கு அல்ல, தீய செயல்களுக்கே பயங்கரமாக இருக்கிறார்கள்; எனவே, நீ அதிகாரத்திற்குப் பயப்படாமல் இருக்கவேண்டுமானால், நன்மைசெய், அதினால் உனக்குப் புகழ்ச்சி உண்டாகும்.
For rulers are not a source of fear to the good works, but to the evil. And do thou desire not to fear the office of authority? Do what is good, and thou will have praise from it.
4 ௪ உனக்கு நன்மை உண்டாவதற்காக, அவன் தேவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாக இருக்கிறான். நீ தீமைசெய்தால் பயந்திரு; பட்டயத்தை அவன் வீணாகப் பிடித்திருக்கவில்லை; தீமைசெய்கிறவன்மேல் கோபத்தின் தண்டனையை வரப்பண்ணுவதற்காக, அவன் நீதியைச் செலுத்துகிற தேவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரனாக இருக்கிறானே.
For he is a helper of God to thee for what is good. But if thou do what is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is a helper of God, vengeful for wrath to the man who commits evil.
Therefore there is a need to be subordinate, not only because of the wrath, but also because of the conscience.
6 ௬ இதற்காகவே நீங்கள் வரியையும் கொடுக்கிறீர்கள். அவர்கள் இந்த வேலையைப் பார்த்துவருகிற தேவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களாக இருக்கிறார்களே.
For because of this ye also fulfill taxes, for they are servants of God being devoted to this same thing.
7 ௭ எனவே எல்லோருக்கும் செலுத்தவேண்டிய கடமைகளைச் செலுத்துங்கள்; யாருக்கு வரியைச் செலுத்தவேண்டுமோ அவனுக்கு வரியையும், யாருக்கு சொத்துவரியைச் செலுத்தவேண்டுமோ அவனுக்கு சொத்துவரியையும் செலுத்துங்கள்; யாருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டுமோ அவனுக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; யாருக்கு மதிப்புக் கொடுக்கவேண்டுமோ அவனுக்கு மதிப்புக் கொடுங்கள்.
Render therefore to all, the things due: tax to the man of tax, tribute to the man of tribute, fear to the man of fear, esteem to the man of esteem.
8 ௮ ஒருவரிலொருவர் அன்பு செலுத்துகிற கடனைத்தவிர, வேறு எதிலும் யாருக்கும் கடன்படாமல் இருங்கள்; அயலகத்தாரிடம் அன்புசெலுத்துகிறவன் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை நிறைவேற்றுகிறான்.
Owe no man anything except to love each other, for he who loves the other has fulfilled law.
9 ௯ எப்படியென்றால், விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, களவு செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக, இச்சிக்காமல் இருப்பாயாக என்கிற இந்தக் கட்டளைகளும், வேறு எந்தக் கட்டளையும், உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்பாக செலுத்துவதுபோல மற்றவனிடமும் அன்புசெலுத்துவாயாக என்கிற ஒரே வாக்கியத்தில் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது.
For this, Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not murder, Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not testify falsely, Thou shall not covet, and if there be any other commandment it is summarized in this saying, in, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.
Love works no evil to the neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of law.
11 ௧௧ தூக்கத்தைவிட்டு எழுந்திருக்க வேண்டிய நேரமானது என்று, நாம் நேரத்தை அறிந்தவர்களாக, இப்படி நடக்கவேண்டும்; நாம் விசுவாசிகளானபோது இரட்சிப்பு அருகில் இருந்ததைவிட இப்பொழுது அது நமக்கு மிக அருகில் இருக்கிறது.
And this, knowing the time, that the hour is now for us to awake out of sleep. For our salvation is now nearer than when we believed.
12 ௧௨ இரவு கடந்துபோனது, பகல் அருகில் வந்துவிட்டது; எனவே, இருளின் செயல்களை நாம் தள்ளிவிட்டு, ஒளியின் ஆயுதங்களை அணிந்துகொள்வோம்.
The night has advanced and the day has approached. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the weapons of light.
13 ௧௩ களியாட்டும், வெறியும், வேசித்தனமும் காமவிகாரமும், வாக்குவாதமும், பொறாமையும் உள்ளவர்களாக நடக்காமல், பகலிலே நடக்கிறவர்கள்போல ஒழுங்காக நடப்போம்.
Let us walk decently as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in beddings and wantonness, not in strife and envy.
14 ௧௪ தீய இச்சைகளுக்கு இடமாக சரீரத்தைக் கொடுக்காமல், கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை அணிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
But clothe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no forethought for lusts of the flesh.
