சங்கீதம் 17
1 ௧ தாவீதின் ஜெபம். யெகோவாவே, நியாயத்தைக் கேட்டருளும், என்னுடைய கூப்பிடுதலைக் கவனியும்; பொய்களில்லாத உதடுகளிலிருந்து பிறக்கும் என்னுடைய விண்ணப்பத்திற்குச் செவிகொடும்.
Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips.
2 ௨ உம்முடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்து என்னுடைய நியாயம் வெளிப்படுவதாக; உம்முடைய கண்கள் நியாயமானவைகளைப் பார்ப்பதாக.
Let my sentence come forth from your presence; let your eyes behold the things that are equal.
3 ௩ நீர் என்னுடைய இருதயத்தைப் பரிசோதித்து, இரவுநேரத்தில் அதை விசாரித்து, என்னைப் புடமிட்டுப்பார்த்தும் ஒன்றும் காணாமலிருக்கிறீர்; என்னுடைய வாய் மீறாதபடி தீர்மானம் செய்திருக்கிறேன்.
You have proved mine heart; you have visited me in the night; you have tried me, and shall find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4 ௪ மனிதரின் செய்கைகளைக்குறித்து, நான் உம்முடைய உதடுகளின் வாக்கினாலே தீயவர்களுடைய பாதைகளுக்கு விலக்கி என்னைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்.
Concerning the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
Hold up my activities in your paths, that my footsteps slip not.
6 ௬ தேவனே, நான் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கெஞ்சுகிறேன், ஏனெனில் நீர் எனக்குப் பதில்கொடுப்பீர். என்னிடத்தில் உம்முடைய செவியைச் சாய்த்து, என்னுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டருளும்.
I have called upon you, for you will hear me, O God: incline your ear unto me, and hear my speech.
7 ௭ உம்மிடம் அடைக்கலமாக வருபவர்களை அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்புகிறவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து உமது வலதுகையினால் தப்புவித்து காப்பாற்றுகிறவரே! உம்முடைய அதிசயமான கிருபையை விளங்கச்செய்யும்.
Show your marvellous loving kindness, O you that save by your right hand them which put their trust in you from those that rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings,
9 ௯ என்னை ஒடுக்குகிற துன்மார்க்கர்களுக்கும், என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்ளுகிற என்னை தாக்கும் எதிரிகளுக்கு மறைவாக, உம்முடைய இறக்கைகளின் நிழலிலே என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்.
From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 ௧௧ நாங்கள் செல்லும் பாதைகளில் இப்பொழுது எங்களை வளைந்துகொண்டார்கள்; எங்களைத் தரையிலே தள்ளும்படி அவர்கள் கண்கள் எங்களை பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.
They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
12 ௧௨ பீறுகிறதற்கு ஆவலுள்ள சிங்கத்திற்கும், மறைவிடங்களில் ஒளிந்திருக்கிற பாலசிங்கத்திற்கும் ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.
Like a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is your sword:
14 ௧௪ யெகோவாவே, மனிதருடைய கைக்கும், இம்மையில் தங்களுடைய பங்கைப் பெற்றிருக்கிற இவ்வுலக மக்களின் கைக்கும் உம்முடைய கையினால் என்னைத் தப்புவியும்; அவர்கள் வயிற்றை உமது செழிப்பினால் நிரப்புகிறீர்; அவர்கள் குழந்தைச்செல்வத்தினால் திருப்தியடைந்து, தங்களுக்கு மீதியான பொருளைத் தங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்கு விட்டுச்செல்கிறார்கள்.
From men which are your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly you fill with your hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with your likeness.
