சங்கீதம் 124

1 ௧ தாவீதின் ஆரோகண பாடல். மனிதர்கள் நமக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்பினபோது, யெகோவா நமது பக்கத்தில் இல்லாவிட்டால்,

A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say)

2 ௨ யெகோவா தாமே நமது பக்கத்தில் இல்லாவிட்டால்,

If the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs,

3 ௩ அவர்களுடைய கோபம் நம்மேல் எரியும்போது, நம்மை உயிரோடு விழுங்கியிருப்பார்கள்.

They had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.

4 ௪ அப்பொழுது தண்ணீர்கள் நம்மேல் பாய்ந்து, வெள்ளங்கள் நமது ஆத்துமாவின்மேல் பெருகி,

Then the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer our soule:

5 ௫ கொந்தளிக்கும் தண்ணீர்கள் நமது ஆத்துமாவின்மேல் புரண்டுபோயிருக்கும் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் இப்பொழுது சொல்வதாக.

Then had the swelling waters gone ouer our soule.

6 ௬ நம்மை அவர்களுடைய பற்களுக்கு இரையாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமல் இருக்கிற யெகோவாவுக்கு நன்றி.

Praysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth.

7 ௭ வேடருடைய கண்ணிக்குத் தப்பின குருவியைப்போல நம்முடைய ஆத்துமா தப்பினது, கண்ணி தெறித்தது, நாம் தப்பினோம்.

Our soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.

8 ௮ நம்முடைய உதவி வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கின யெகோவாவுடைய பெயரில் உள்ளது.

Our helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
