சங்கீதம் 120

1 ௧ ஆரோகண பாடல். என்னுடைய நெருக்கத்திலே யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; அவர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்.

A Song of the Ascents. Unto Jehovah in my distress I have called, And He answereth me.

2 ௨ யெகோவாவே, பொய் உதடுகளுக்கும் வஞ்சகமாக பேசும் நாவுக்கும் என்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவைத் தப்புவியும்.

O Jehovah, deliver my soul from a lying lip, From a deceitful tongue!

3 ௩ வஞ்சக நாவே, உனக்கு என்ன கிடைக்கும்? உனக்கு என்ன செய்யப்படும்?

What doth He give to thee? And what doth He add to thee? O deceitful tongue!

4 ௪ பலவானுடைய கூர்மையான அம்புகளும், சூரைச்செடிகளை எரிக்கும் தழலுமே கிடைக்கும்.

Sharp arrows of a mighty one, with broom-coals.

5 ௫ ஐயோ, நான் மேசேக்கிலே வாழ்ந்தது போதும், கேதாரின் கூடாரங்கள் அருகில் குடியிருந்ததும் போதும்!

Woe to me, for I have inhabited Mesech, I have dwelt with tents of Kedar.

6 ௬ சமாதானத்தைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களிடம் என்னுடைய ஆத்துமா குடியிருந்ததும் போதும்!

Too much hath my soul dwelt with him who is hating peace.

7 ௭ நான் சமாதானத்தை நாடுகிறேன்; அவர்களோ, நான் பேசும்போது போர்செய்ய முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள்.

I [am] peace, and when I speak they [are] for war!
