My son, keep my words and store up my commands within yourself.
2 ௨ என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளையும் என்னுடைய போதகத்தையும் உன்னுடைய கண்மணியைப்போல் காத்துக்கொள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பாய்.
Keep my commands and live and keep my instruction as the apple of your eye.
Tie them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman,
5 ௫ ஞானத்தை நோக்கி, நீ என்னுடைய சகோதரி என்றும், புத்தியைப்பார்த்து, நீ என்னுடைய இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவள் என்றும் சொல்லு.
in order to keep yourself from the adulterous woman, from the immoral woman with her smooth words.
At the window of my house I was looking out through the lattice.
I looked at the naive people, and I noticed among the young men a youth who had no sense.
That young man passed down the street near her corner, and he went toward her house.
It was twilight, in the evening of the day, at the time of night and darkness.

Now in the streets, then in the market place, and at every corner she waited in ambush.
So she grabbed him and kissed him, with a strong face she said to him,

15 ௧௫ ஆதலால், நான் உன்னைச் சந்திக்கப் புறப்பட்டு, உன் முகத்தை ஆவலோடு தேடினேன்; இப்பொழுது உன்னைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்.
so came I out to meet you, to eagerly seek your face, and I have found you.
16 ௧௬ என்னுடைய மெத்தையை இரத்தினக் கம்பளங்களாலும், எகிப்து தேசத்தின் விசித்திரமான மெல்லிய துணிகளாலும் அலங்கரித்தேன்.
I have spread coverings on my bed, colored linens from Egypt.
I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning; let us take great pleasure in acts of love.
For my husband is not at his house; he has gone on a long journey.
20 ௨0 பணப்பையைத் தன்னுடைய கையிலே கொண்டுபோனான், குறிக்கப்பட்ட நாளிலே வீட்டுக்கு வருவான் என்று சொல்லி,
He took a bag of money with him; he will return on the day of the full moon.”
21 ௨௧ தன்னுடைய மிகுதியான இனிய சொற்களால் அவனை வசப்படுத்தி, தன்னுடைய உதடுகளின் இனிமையான பேச்சால் அவனை இணங்கச்செய்தாள்.
With much talk she turned him; with her smooth lips she misled him.
22 ௨௨ உடனே அவன் அவள் பின்னே சென்றான்; ஒரு மாடு அடிக்கப்படும்படி செல்வதுபோலவும், ஒரு மூடன் விலங்கிடப்பட்டு தண்டனைக்குப் போவதுபோலவும்,
He went after her suddenly like an ox going to slaughter, like a deer caught in a trap,
23 ௨௩ ஒரு குருவி தன்னுடைய உயிரை வாங்கும் கண்ணியை அறியாமல் அதில் விழுவதற்கு விரைந்து போகிறதுபோலவும், அவளுக்குப் பின்னே போனான்; அம்பு அவனுடைய இருதயத்தைப் பிளந்தது.
until an arrow pierces through its liver. He was like a bird rushing into a snare. He did not know that it would cost his life.
Now, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to the words of my mouth.
May your heart not turn aside onto her paths; do not be led astray onto her paths.
She has caused many people to fall down pierced; her dead victims are very many.
