நீதிமொழிகள் 4
Hear, you sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding.
For I have given to you good learning, do not forsake my law.
3 ௩ நான் என்னுடைய தகப்பனுக்குப் பிரியமான மகனும், என்னுடைய தாய்க்கு மிகவும் அருமையான ஒரே பிள்ளையுமானவன்.
For I have been a son to my father—tender, And an only one before my mother.
4 ௪ அவர் எனக்குப் போதித்துச் சொன்னது: உன்னுடைய இருதயம் என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் காத்துக்கொள்வதாக; என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பாய்.
And he directs me, and he says to me: “Let your heart retain my words, Keep my commands, and live.
5 ௫ ஞானத்தைச் சம்பாதி, புத்தியையும் சம்பாதி; என்னுடைய வாயின் வார்த்தைகளை மறக்காமலும் விட்டு விலகாமலும் இரு.
Get wisdom, get understanding, Do not forget, nor turn away From the sayings of my mouth.
Do not forsake her, and she preserves you, Love her, and she keeps you.
The first thing [is] wisdom—get wisdom, And with all your getting get understanding.
8 ௮ நீ அதை மேன்மைப்படுத்து, அது உன்னை மேன்மைப்படுத்தும்; நீ அதைத் தழுவிக்கொண்டால், அது உனக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தும்.
Exalt her and she lifts you up, She honors you when you embrace her.
9 ௯ அது உன்னுடைய தலைக்கு அலங்காரமான கிரீடத்தைக் கொடுக்கும்; அது மகிமையான கிரீடத்தை உனக்குச் சூட்டும்.
She gives a wreath of grace to your head, She gives you a crown of beauty freely.”
10 ௧0 என் மகனே, கேள், என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்; அப்பொழுது உன்னுடைய ஆயுளின் வருடங்கள் அதிகமாகும்.
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And years of life [are] multiplied to you.
I have directed you in a way of wisdom, I have caused you to tread in paths of uprightness.
12 ௧௨ நீ அவைகளில் நடக்கும்போது உன்னுடைய நடைகளுக்கு இடுக்கண் உண்டாவதில்லை; நீ அவைகளில் ஓடினாலும் இடறமாட்டாய்.
In your walking your step is not restricted, And if you run, you do not stumble.
Lay hold on instruction, do not desist, Keep her, for she [is] your life.
Do not enter into the path of the wicked, And do not be blessed in a way of evildoers.
Avoid it, do not pass over into it, Turn aside from it, and pass on.
16 ௧௬ தீங்கு செய்யாமல் அவர்களுக்கு தூக்கம் வராது; அவர்கள் யாரையாவது விழச்செய்யாமல் இருந்தால் அவர்களுடைய தூக்கம் கலைந்துபோகும்.
For they do not sleep if they do no evil, And their sleep has been taken away violently, If they do not cause [some] to stumble.
For they have eaten bread of wickedness, And they drink wine of violence.
18 ௧௮ நீதிமான்களுடைய பாதை நடுப்பகல்வரைக்கும் அதிகமதிகமாகப் பிரகாசிக்கிற சூரியப்பிரகாசம்போல இருக்கும்.
And the path of the righteous [is] as a shining light, Going and brightening until the day is established,
19 ௧௯ துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய பாதையோ காரிருளைப்போல இருக்கும்; தாங்கள் எதினால் இடறுகிறோம் என்பதை அறியமாட்டார்கள்.
The way of the wicked [is] as darkness, They have not known at what they stumble.
My son, give attention to my words, Incline your ear to my sayings,
21 ௨௧ அவைகள் உன்னுடைய கண்களைவிட்டுப் பிரியாமல் இருப்பதாக; அவைகளை உன்னுடைய இருதயத்திற்குள்ளே காத்துக்கொள்.
Do not let them turn aside from your eyes, Preserve them in the midst of your heart.
For they [are] life to those finding them, And healing to all their flesh.
Above every charge keep your heart, For out of it [are] the outgoings of life.
Turn aside a contrary mouth from you, And put perverse lips far from you,
25 ௨௫ உன்னுடைய கண்கள் நேராக நோக்குவதாக; உன்னுடைய கண்ணின் இமைகள் உனக்கு முன்னே செவ்வையாகப் பார்க்கட்டும்.
Your eyes look straightforward, And your eyelids look straight before you.
Ponder the path of your feet, And all your ways [are] established.
Do not incline [to] the right or to the left, Turn aside your foot from evil!
