நீதிமொழிகள் 21
1 ௧ ராஜாவின் இருதயம் யெகோவாவின் கையில் நீரூற்றைப்போல இருக்கிறது; அதைத் தமது சித்தத்தின்படி அவர் திருப்புகிறார்.
The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will.
2 ௨ மனிதனுடைய வழியெல்லாம் அவனுடைய பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையாகத் தோன்றும்; யெகோவாவோ இருதயங்களை நிறுத்திப்பார்க்கிறார்.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD ponders the hearts.
To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
5 ௫ ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவனுடைய நினைவுகள் செல்வத்திற்கும், பதறுகிறவனுடைய நினைவுகள் தரித்திரத்திற்கும் ஏதுவாகும்.
The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenty; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
The way of man is fraudulent and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
9 ௯ சண்டைக்காரியோடு ஒரு பெரிய வீட்டில் குடியிருப்பதைவிட, வீட்டின்மேல் ஒரு மூலையில் தங்கியிருப்பதே நலம்.
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
10 ௧0 துன்மார்க்கனுடைய மனம் தீங்கைச் செய்ய விரும்பும்; அவனுடைய கண்களில் அவனுடைய அயலானுக்கு இரக்கம் கிடையாது.
The soul of the wicked desires evil: his neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
12 ௧௨ நீதிபரர் துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வீட்டைக் கவனித்துப்பார்க்கிறார்; துன்மார்க்கர்களைத் தீங்கில் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுவார்.
The righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked: but God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness.
13 ௧௩ ஏழையின் கூக்குரலுக்குத் தன்னுடைய செவியை அடைத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவன், தானும் சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிடும்போது கேட்கப்படமாட்டான்.
Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
A gift in secret pacifies anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
The man that wanders out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
17 ௧௭ சிற்றின்பப்பிரியன் தரித்திரனாவான்; மதுபானத்தையும் எண்ணெயையும் விரும்புகிறவன் செல்வந்தனாவதில்லை.
He that loves pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 ௧௮ நீதிமானுக்கு பதிலாக துன்மார்க்கனும், செம்மையானவனுக்கு பதிலாக துரோகியும் மீட்கும் பொருளாவார்கள்.
The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spends it up.
He that follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.
22 ௨௨ பலவான்களுடைய பட்டணத்தின் மதிலை ஞானமுள்ளவன் ஏறிப்பிடித்து, அவர்கள் நம்பின மதில்சுவரை இடித்துப்போடுவான்.
A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and casts down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23 ௨௩ தன்னுடைய வாயையும் தன்னுடைய நாவையும் காக்கிறவன் தன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவை இடுக்கண்களுக்கு விலக்கிக் காக்கிறான்.
Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
24 ௨௪ அகங்காரமும் அகந்தையும் உள்ளவனுக்குப் பரியாசக்காரன் என்று பெயர், அவன் அகந்தையான கோபத்தோடு நடக்கிறான்.
Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who deals in proud wrath.
The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands refuse to labor.
He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not.
27 ௨௭ துன்மார்க்கருடைய பலி அருவருப்பானது; அதைத் தீயசிந்தையோடு செலுத்தினாலோ எத்தனை அதிகமாக அருவருக்கப்படும்.
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind?
A false witness shall perish: but the man that hears speaks constantly.
29 ௨௯ துன்மார்க்கன் தன்னுடைய முகத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்துகிறான்; செம்மையானவனோ தன்னுடைய வழியை நேர்ப்படுத்துகிறான்.
A wicked man hardens his face: but as for the upright, he directs his way.
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
