நீதிமொழிகள் 12

1 ௧ புத்திமதிகளை விரும்புகிறவன் அறிவை விரும்புகிறான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை வெறுக்கிறவனோ மிருககுணமுள்ளவன்.

If you love knowledge, you will love discipline. Anyone who hates being corrected is stupid!

2 ௨ நல்லவன் யெகோவாவிடத்தில் தயவு பெறுவான்; கெட்டசிந்தனைகளுள்ள மனிதனை அவர் தண்டனைக்கு உட்படுத்துவார்.

The Lord blesses the good, but he condemns anyone with evil schemes.

3 ௩ துன்மார்க்கத்தினால் மனிதன் நிலைவரப்படமாட்டான்; நீதிமான்களுடைய வேரோ அசையாது.

Wickedness doesn't provide security, but those who live right are deeply rooted and cannot be moved.

4 ௪ குணசாலியான பெண் தன்னுடைய கணவனுக்கு கிரீடமாக இருக்கிறாள்; அவமானத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறவளோ அவனுக்கு எலும்புருக்கியாக இருக்கிறாள்.

A good wife is a crown for her husband, but one who brings shame is like rot in his bones.

5 ௫ நீதிமான்களுடைய நினைவுகள் நியாயமானவைகள்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய ஆலோசனைகளோ வஞ்சனையுள்ளவைகள்.

Good people make plans that are fair, but the advice of the wicked is deceptive.

6 ௬ துன்மார்க்கர்களின் வார்த்தைகள் இரத்தம் சிந்த மறைந்திருப்பதைப்பற்றியது; உத்தமர்களுடைய வாயோ அவர்களைத் தப்புவிக்கும்.

The words of the wicked are like a violent ambush, but those of honest people save them.

7 ௭ துன்மார்க்கர்கள் கவிழ்க்கப்பட்டு ஒழிந்துபோவார்கள்; நீதிமான்களுடைய வீடோ நிலைநிற்கும்.

The wicked are destroyed, and they're gone, but the family of the good stands firm.

8 ௮ தன்னுடைய புத்திக்குத் தகுந்தபடி மனிதன் புகழப்படுவான்; மாறுபாடான இருதயமுள்ளவனோ இகழப்படுவான்.

People are appreciated for talking sense, but those with perverted minds are despised.

9 ௯ உணவில்லாதவனாக இருந்தும், தன்னைத்தான் மேன்மைப்படுத்துகிறவனைவிட, மேன்மை இல்லாதவனாக இருந்தும் பணிவிடைக்காரனுள்ளவன் உத்தமன்.

Better to be a humble man serving himself than a boastful man who has nothing to eat.

10 ௧0 நீதிமான் தன்னுடைய மிருகஜீவன்களைக் காப்பாற்றுகிறான்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய இரக்கமும் கொடுமையே.

Good people look after their animals, but the care given by wicked is really cruelty.

11 ௧௧ தன்னுடைய நிலத்தைப் பயிரிடுகிறவன் உணவினால் திருப்தியடைவான்; வீணர்களைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவனோ மதியற்றவன்.

If you cultivate the land you'll have plenty of food, but if you chase after worthless things you're stupid.

12 ௧௨ துன்மார்க்கன் கெட்டவர்களுடைய வலையை விரும்புகிறான்; நீதிமானுடைய வேர் கனி கொடுக்கும்.

Wicked people long for ill-gotten gains, but good people are productive themselves.

13 ௧௩ துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு அவனுடைய உதடுகளின் துரோகமே கண்ணி; நீதிமானோ நெருக்கத்திலிருந்து நீங்குவான்.

The wicked trap themselves by their own sinful words, but good people escape trouble.

14 ௧௪ அவனவன் தன் தன் வாயின் பலனால் திருப்தியடைவான்; அவனவன் கைக்கிரியையின் பலனுக்குத்தக்கதாக அவனவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும்.

What you say brings you rewards, and your work returns to bless you.

15 ௧௫ மதியீனனுடைய வழி அவனுடைய பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையாக இருக்கும்; ஆலோசனைக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறவனோ ஞானமுள்ளவன்.

Stupid people think they're on the right track, but if you're wise you listen to advice.

16 ௧௬ மூடனுடைய கோபம் சீக்கிரத்தில் வெளிப்படும்; அவமானத்தை மூடுகிறவனோ விவேகி.

Stupid people get angry immediately, but if you're sensible you ignore an insult.

17 ௧௭ சத்தியவாசகன் நீதியை வெளிப்படுத்துவான்; பொய்சாட்சிக்காரனோ வஞ்சகத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவான்.

Whoever tells the truth is being honest, but a false witness tells lies.

18 ௧௮ பட்டயக்குத்துகள்போல் பேசுகிறவர்களும் உண்டு; ஞானமுள்ளவர்களுடைய நாவோ மருந்து.

Some people's hasty words cut like a knife, but the words of the wise bring healing.

19 ௧௯ சத்திய உதடு என்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்; பொய்நாவோ ஒரு நிமிடம்மாத்திரம் இருக்கும்;

Words of truth last forever, but lies are gone in a moment.

20 ௨0 தீங்கை திட்டமிடுகிறவர்களின் இருதயத்தில் கபடம் இருக்கிறது; சமாதானம்செய்கிற ஆலோசனைக்காரர்களுக்கு உள்ளது சந்தோஷம்.

Deceit is in the mind of those planning evil, but those who plan peace have joy.

21 ௨௧ நீதிமானுக்கு ஒரு கேடும் வராது; துன்மார்க்கர்களோ தீமையினால் நிறையப்படுவார்கள்.

No harm comes to the good, but trouble fills the wicked.

22 ௨௨ பொய் உதடுகள் யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பானவைகள்; உண்மையாக நடக்கிறவர்களோ அவருக்குப் பிரியம்.

The Lord hates liars but is happy with those who are trustworthy.

23 ௨௩ விவேகமுள்ள மனிதன் அறிவை அடக்கிவைக்கிறான்; மூடர்களுடைய இருதயமோ மதியீனத்தைப் பிரபலப்படுத்தும்.

If you're sensible, you don't show off your knowledge, but stupid people announce their stupidity.

24 ௨௪ ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவர்களுடைய கை ஆளுகை செய்யும்; சோம்பேறியோ கட்டாயமாக வேலை வாங்கப்படுவான்.

Hard work brings leadership, but laziness brings slavery.

25 ௨௫ மனிதனுடைய இருதயத்திலுள்ள கவலை அதை ஒடுக்கும்; நல்வார்த்தையோ அதை மகிழ்ச்சியாக்கும்.

If you're anxious, you're weighed down, but an encouraging word will cheer you up.

26 ௨௬ நீதிமான் தன்னுடைய அயலானைவிட மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வழியோ அவர்களை மோசப்படுத்தும்.

Good people look out for their friends, but the way the wicked live leads them astray.

27 ௨௭ சோம்பேறி தான் வேட்டையாடிப் பிடித்ததைச் சமைப்பதில்லை; ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவனுடைய பொருளோ அருமையானது.

Lazy people don't catch their prey, but if you work hard you can become rich.

28 ௨௮ நீதியின் பாதையில் வாழ்வு உண்டு; அந்தப் பாதையில் மரணம் இல்லை.

The path of right leads to life, it doesn't lead to death.
