எண்ணாகமம் 32
1 ௧ ரூபன், காத் சந்ததிக்கும் ஆடுமாடுகள் மிகவும் திரளாக இருந்தது; அவர்கள் யாசேர் தேசத்தையும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தையும் பார்த்தபோது, அது ஆடுமாடுகளுக்குத் தகுந்த இடமென்று கண்டார்கள்.
Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle; and they saw the land of Ya'zer, and the land of Gil'ad, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle.
2 ௨ ஆகையால் ரூபன் சந்ததியும் காத் சந்ததியும் வந்து, மோசேயையும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரையும் சபையின் பிரபுக்களையும் நோக்கி:
And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came, and said unto Moses, and unto Elazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, as followeth,
3 ௩ “யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேல் சபைக்கு முன்பாக முறியடித்த அதரோத், தீபோன், யாசேர், நிம்ரா, எஸ்போன், எலெயாலெ, சேபாம், நேபோ, பெயோன் என்னும் பட்டணங்களைச் சேர்ந்த நாடானது ஆடுமாடுகளுக்குத் தகுந்த இடம்.
'Ataroth, and Dibon, and Ya'zer, and Nimrah, and Cheshbon, and El'aleh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Be'on,
The country which the Lord hath smitten before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle; and thy servants have cattle.
5 ௫ “உம்முடைய கண்களில் எங்களுக்குத் தயவு கிடைத்ததானால், எங்களை யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அப்புறம் கடந்துபோகச்செய்வாராக; இந்த நாட்டை உமது அடியார்களுக்குக் சொந்த நிலமாக கொடுக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்கள்.
And they said, If we have found grace in thy eyes, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession: do not compel us to go over the Jordan.
6 ௬ அப்பொழுது மோசே காத் சந்ததியையும் ரூபன் சந்ததியையும் நோக்கி: “உங்கள் சகோதரர்கள் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போகும்போது, நீங்கள் இங்கே இருப்பீர்களோ?
And Moses said unto the children of Gad, and unto the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to the war, and will ye sit here?
7 ௭ யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்கு அவர்கள் போகாதபடி, நீங்கள் அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைத் திடனற்றுப்போகச்செய்கிறது ஏன்?
And wherefore will you turn aside the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Lord hath given them?
8 ௮ அந்த தேசத்தைப் பார்ப்பதற்கு நான் உங்களுடைய தகப்பன்மார்களை காதேஸ்பர்னேயாவிலிருந்து அனுப்பினபோது அவர்களும் இப்படியே செய்தார்கள்.
Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea' to see the land.
9 ௯ அவர்கள் எஸ்கோல் பள்ளத்தாக்கு வரை போய், அத்தேசத்தைப் பார்த்து வந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவா தங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்குப் போகாதபடி அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைத் திடனற்றுப்போகச்செய்தார்கள்.
For they went up as far as the valley of Eshcol, and they saw the land, and then they turned aside the heart of the children of Israel, so that they would not go into the land which the Lord had given them.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled on that day, and he swore, saying,
11 ௧௧ உத்தமமாக என்னைப் பின்பற்றின கேனேசியனான எப்புன்னேயின் மகன் காலேபும், நூனின் மகன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர,
Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
12 ௧௨ எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்தவர்களில் இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட மனிதர்களில் ஒருவரும் என்னை உத்தமமாகப் பின்பற்றாதபடியால், அவர்கள் நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும், ஈசாக்குக்கும், யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறார்.
Save Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; for they have wholly followed the Lord.
13 ௧௩ அப்படியே யெகோவாவுடைய கோபம் இஸ்ரவேலின் மேல் வந்தது; யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் தீங்குசெய்த அந்தச் சந்ததியெல்லாம் அழிந்துபோகும்வரை அவர்களை வனாந்திரத்திலே 40 வருடங்கள் அலையச்செய்தார்.
And the anger of the Lord was thus kindled against Israel, and he made them wander about in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation was spent, that had done the evil in the eyes of the Lord.
14 ௧௪ இப்பொழுதும் இதோ இஸ்ரவேலர்களின் மேல் இருக்கும் யெகோவாவுடைய கோபத்தின் கடுமையை இன்னும் அதிகரிக்கச்செய்யும்படி, நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தகப்பன்களின் இடத்திலே பாவமுள்ள பெருங்கூட்டமாக எழும்பியிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
And now, behold, ye are risen up in your father's stead, a new race of sinful men, to augment yet more the fierce anger of the Lord toward Israel.
15 ௧௫ நீங்கள் அவரைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கினால், அவர் இன்னும் அவர்களை வனாந்திரத்தில் இருக்கச்செய்வார்; இப்படி நீங்கள் இந்த மக்களையெல்லாம் அழியச்செய்வீர்கள்” என்றான்.
For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet longer leave them in the wilderness; and ye will thus be destruction to all this people.
16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவன் அருகில் வந்து: “எங்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகளுக்காகத் தொழுவங்களையும், எங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பட்டணங்களையும் இங்கே கட்டுவோம்.
And they came near unto him, and said, Sheepfolds will we build for our cattle here, and cities for our little ones;
17 ௧௭ நாங்களோ இஸ்ரவேலர்களுடைய ராணுவத்தை அவர்கள் இடத்திலே கொண்டுபோய்ச் சேர்க்கும்வரையும், யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாக தீவிரத்தோடு அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நடப்போம்; எங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகள் இத்தேசத்து மக்களின் பொருட்டு பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களிலே குடியிருக்கக் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறோம்.
But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until that we have brought them unto their place; and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities, because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 ௧௮ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்கள்தங்கள் சுதந்தரத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும் வரைக்கும், நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய வீடுகளுக்குத் திரும்புவதில்லை.
We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have acquired for themselves every man his inheritance.
19 ௧௯ யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் கிழக்கே எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் உண்டானபடியினாலே, நாங்கள் அவர்களோடு யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலும், அதற்கு அப்புறத்திலும் சுதந்தரம் வாங்கமாட்டோம்” என்றார்கள்.
For we will not take possession with them on the other side of the Jordan, and farther on: when our inheritance hath come to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.
20 ௨0 அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: “நீங்கள் இந்த வார்த்தையின்படி செய்து, யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாகி,
And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will arm yourselves before the Lord for the war;
21 ௨௧ யெகோவா தம்முடைய எதிரிகளைத் தம்முடைய முகத்திற்கு முன்னின்று துரத்திவிடும்வரை, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் அவருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாக யோர்தானைக் கடந்து போவீர்களானால்,
And every armed man of you will go over the Jordan before the Lord, until he have driven out his enemies from before him;
22 ௨௨ அந்த தேசம் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக கிடைத்தபின்பு, நீங்கள் திரும்பி வந்து, யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகவும், இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும், குற்றமில்லாமல் இருப்பீர்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு இந்த தேசம் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குச் சொந்தமாகும்.
And when, only after the land hath been subdued before the Lord, ye will return, and ye be thus guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel: then shall this land be yours for a possession before the Lord.
23 ௨௩ நீங்கள் இப்படிச் செய்யாமல்போனால், யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்தவர்களாக இருப்பீர்கள்; உங்கள் பாவம் உங்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடிக்கும் என்று நிச்சயமாக அறியுங்கள்.
But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord; and ye shall experience the punishment of your sin which will overtake you.
24 ௨௪ உங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பட்டணங்களையும், உங்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகளுக்காகத் தொழுவங்களையும் கட்டி, உங்களுடைய வாய்மொழியின்படியே செய்யுங்கள்” என்றான்.
Build yourselves cities for your little ones, and folds for your flocks; and that which hath proceeded out of your mouth shall ye do.
25 ௨௫ அப்பொழுது காத் சந்ததியும் ரூபன் சந்ததியும் மோசேயை நோக்கி: “எங்களுடைய ஆண்டவன் கட்டளையிட்டபடி உமது ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்கள் செய்வோம்.
And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben said unto Moses, as followeth, Thy servants will do as my Lord commandeth.
26 ௨௬ எங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளும் எங்களுடைய மனைவிகளும், எங்களுடைய ஆடுமாடு முதலான எங்களுடைய எல்லா மிருகஜீவன்களோடும், இங்கே கீலேயாத்தின் பட்டணங்களில் இருப்பார்கள்.
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall remain there in the cities of Gil'ad;
27 ௨௭ உமது ஊழியக்காரர்களாகிய நாங்களோ எங்களுடைய ஆண்டவன் சொன்னபடி, ஒவ்வொருவரும் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாக, யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போவோம்” என்றார்கள்.
But thy servants will pass over, every one that is armed for the army, before the Lord, to the war, as my Lord speaketh.
28 ௨௮ அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களுக்காக ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கும், நூனின் மகனாகிய யோசுவாவுக்கும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய கோத்திர பிதாக்களாகிய தலைவர்களுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டு:
And Moses commanded concerning them Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chiefs of the families of the tribes of the children of Israel;
29 ௨௯ “காத் சந்ததியும் ரூபன் சந்ததியும் அவரவர் யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாக உங்களோடுகூட யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோனால், அந்த தேசம் உங்களுக்கு கிடைத்தபின்பு, அவர்களுக்குக் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தைச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுக்கக்கடவீர்கள்.
And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben do pass with you over the Jordan, every one that is armed for the war, before the Lord, and the land shall be subdued before you: then shall ye give to them the land of Gil'ad for a possession;
30 ௩0 உங்களோடுகூட யுத்தவீரர்களாகக் கடந்துபோகாமல் இருந்தார்களேயானால், அவர்கள் உங்கள் நடுவே கானான் தேசத்திலே சுதந்தரம் அடையவேண்டும்” என்றான்.
But if they should not pass over armed with you, they shall take possessions among you in the land of Canaan.
31 ௩௧ காத் சந்ததியும் ரூபன் சந்ததியும் மறுமொழியாக: “உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களாகிய நாங்கள் யெகோவா எங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே செய்வோம்.
And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, That which the Lord hath spoken concerning thy servants, even so will we do.
32 ௩௨ யோர்தானுக்கு இக்கரையிலே எங்கள் சுதந்தரத்தின் சொந்தநிலம் எங்களுக்கு உரியதாகும்படி நாங்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமாகி கானான் தேசத்திற்குப் போவோம்” என்றார்கள்.
We will indeed pass over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, while ours remaineth the possession of our inheritance on this side of the Jordan.
33 ௩௩ அப்பொழுது மோசே காத் சந்ததிக்கும், ரூபன் சந்ததிக்கும், யோசேப்பின் மகனாகிய மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாருக்கும், எமோரியருடைய ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனின் ராஜ்ஜியத்தையும், பாசானுடைய ராஜாவாகிய ஓகின் ராஜ்ஜியத்தையும், அவைகளைச் சேர்ந்த தேசங்களையும் அவைகளின் எல்லையைச் சுற்றிலுமுள்ள பட்டணங்களையும் கொடுத்தான்.
And Moses gave unto them, to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Menasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sichon, the king of the Emorites, and the kingdom of 'Og, the king of Bashan, the land, with its cities within the boundaries, the cities of the country round about.
And the children of Gad built Dibon, and 'Ataroth, and 'Aro'er,
And 'Atroth-shophan, and Ya'zer, and Yogbehah.
And Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, fortified cities, and folds for flocks,
And the children of Reuben built Cheshbon, and El'aleh, and Kiryathayim,
38 ௩௮ பெயர்கள் மாற்றப்பட்ட நேபோ, பாகால்மெயோன், சீப்மா என்பவைகளைக் கட்டி, தாங்கள் கட்டின பட்டணங்களுக்கு வேறு பெயர்களைக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
And Nebo, and Ba'al-me'on [their names being changed], and Shibmah; and they gave the former names unto the cities which they built.
39 ௩௯ மனாசேயின் மகனாகிய மாகீரின் சந்ததி கீலேயாத்திற்குப் போய், அதைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அதிலிருந்த எமோரியர்களைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.
And the children of Machir the son of Menasseh went to Gil'ad, and conquered it, and dispossessed the Emorites who were in it.
40 ௪0 அப்பொழுது மோசே கீலேயாத்தை மனாசேயின் மகனாகிய மாகீருக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் அதிலே குடியேறினார்கள்.
And Moses gave Gil'ad unto Machir the son of Menasseh; and he dwelt therein.
41 ௪௧ மனாசேயின் மகனாகிய யாவீர் போய், அவர்களுடைய கிராமங்களைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவைகளுக்கு யாவீர் என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
And Yair the son of Menasseh went and conquered the small towns thereof, and called them Chavoth-yair.
42 ௪௨ நோபாக் போய், கேனாத்தையும், அதின் கிராமங்களையும் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அதற்குத் தன்னுடைய பெயரின்படி நோபாக் என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
And Nobach went and conquered Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobach, after his own name.
