எண்ணாகமம் 23
1 ௧ பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “நீர் இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் இங்கே எனக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும்” என்றான்.
And Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars here for me, and prepare as many calves, and the same number of rams.”
2 ௨ பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடியே பாலாக் செய்தான்; பாலாகும் பிலேயாமும் ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.
And when he had acted according to the words of Balaam, they placed a calf and a ram together on each altar.
3 ௩ பின்பு பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகில் நில்லும், நான் போய்வருகிறேன்; யெகோவா வந்து என்னைச் சந்திப்பதாக இருக்கும்; அவர் எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துவதை உமக்கு அறிவிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி, ஒரு மேட்டின்மேல் ஏறினான்.
And Balaam said to Balak: “Stand for a little while next to your holocaust, until I go, to see if perhaps the Lord will meet with me. And whatever he will command, I shall speak to you.”
4 ௪ தேவன் பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: “நான் ஏழு பலிபீடங்களை ஆயத்தம்செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பலிபீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டேன்” என்றான்.
And after he had quickly departed, God met with him. And Balaam, speaking to him, said: “I have set up seven altars, and I have placed a calf and a ram on each.”
5 ௫ யெகோவா பிலேயாமின் வாயிலே வாக்கு அருளி: “நீ பாலாகினிடத்தில் திரும்பிப் போய், இந்த விதமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
Then the Lord placed the word in his mouth, and he said: “Return to Balak, and you shall say this.”
6 ௬ அவனிடம் அவன் திரும்பிப்போனான்; பாலாக் மோவாபுடைய எல்லா பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூட தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்.
Returning, he found Balak standing next to his holocaust, with all the leaders of the Moabites.
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: “மோவாபின் ராஜாவாகிய பாலாக் என்னைக் கிழக்கு மலைகளிலுள்ள ஆராமிலிருந்து வரவழைத்து: நீ வந்து எனக்காக யாக்கோபைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்; நீ வந்து இஸ்ரவேலை வெறுத்துவிடவேண்டும்” என்று சொன்னான்.
And taking up his parable, he said: “Balak, king of the Moabites, has led me from Aram, from the mountains of the east. ‘Come forth,’ he said, ‘and curse Jacob. Hurry and condemn Israel.’
How shall I curse him, whom God has not cursed? For what reason would I condemn him, whom the Lord does not condemn?
9 ௯ உயரமான மலையிலிருந்து நான் அவனைக் கண்டு, குன்றுகளிலிருந்து அவனைப் பார்க்கிறேன்; அந்த மக்கள் தேசத்தோடு கலக்காமல் தனியே வாழ்வார்கள்.
I will look upon him from the tops of the stones, and I will consider him from the hills. This people shall dwell alone, and they shall not be counted among the nations.
10 ௧0 “யாக்கோபின் தூளை எண்ணத்தக்கவன் யார்? இஸ்ரவேலின் காற்பங்கை எண்ணுகிறவன் யார்? நீதிமான் மரிப்பதுபோல் நான் மரிப்பேனாக, என்னுடைய முடிவு அவனுடைய முடிவுபோல் இருப்பதாக” என்றான்.
Who can number the dust that is Jacob, and who can know the number of the stock of Israel? May my soul die a just death, and may my end be like theirs.”
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “நீர் எனக்கு என்ன செய்தீர்; என்னுடைய எதிரிகளைச் சபிக்கும்படி உம்மை அழைத்து வந்தேன்; நீர் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தீர்” என்றான்.
And Balak said to Balaam: “What is this that you are doing? I called for you, in order to curse my enemies, and to the contrary, you bless them.”
He answered him, “How can I say anything other than what the Lord orders?”
13 ௧௩ பின்பு பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: “நீர் அவர்களைப் பார்க்கத்தக்க வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு என்னோடுகூட வாரும்; அங்கே அவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் பாரக்காமல், அவர்களுடைய கடைசி முகாமை மட்டும் பார்ப்பீர்; அங்கேயிருந்து எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவேண்டும்” என்று சொல்லி,
Therefore, Balak said: “Come with me to another place, from where you may see a portion of Israel, though you cannot see them all. Curse them from there.”
14 ௧௪ அவனைப் பிஸ்காவின் உச்சியில் இருக்கிற சோப்பீமின் வெளியிலே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.
And when he had led him to a lofty place, on the top of mount Pisgah, Balaam built seven altars, and placing upon each a calf and a ram,
15 ௧௫ அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “இங்கே உம்முடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகில் நில்லும்; நான் அங்கே போய்க் யெகோவாவைச் சந்தித்துவருகிறேன்” என்றான்.
he said to Balak, “Stand here next to your holocaust, while I continue on to meet him.”
16 ௧௬ யெகோவா பிலேயாமைச் சந்தித்து, அவனுடைய வாயிலே வசனத்தை அருளி; “நீ பாலாகினிடம் திரும்பிப்போய், இந்த விதமாகச் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
And when the Lord had met him, and had put the word in his mouth, he said, “Return to Balak, and you shall say this to him.”
17 ௧௭ அவனிடத்திற்கு அவன் வருகிறபோது, அவன் மோவாபின் பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூடத் தன்னுடைய சர்வாங்கதகனபலி அருகிலே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான்; பாலாக் அவனை நோக்கி: “யெகோவா என்ன சொன்னார்” என்று கேட்டான்.
Returning, he found him standing next to his holocaust, and the leaders of the Moabites were with him. And Balak said to him, “What has the Lord spoken?”
18 ௧௮ அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: “பாலாகே, எழுந்திருந்து கேளும்; சிப்போரின் மகனே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடும்.
But, taking up his parable, he said: “Stand, Balak, and pay attention. Listen, you son of Zippor.
19 ௧௯ பொய் சொல்ல தேவன் ஒரு மனிதன் அல்ல; மனம்மாற அவர் ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அல்ல; அவர் சொல்லியும் செய்யாமல் இருப்பாரா? அவர் வாக்களித்தும் நிறைவேற்றாமல் இருப்பாரா?
God is not like a man, so that he would lie, nor is he like a son of man, so that he would be changed. Therefore, having spoken, will he not act? Has he ever spoken, and not fulfilled?
I was led here to bless, and I have no strength to hinder the blessing.
21 ௨௧ அவர் யாக்கோபிலே அக்கிரமத்தைக் காண்கிறதும் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலிலே குற்றம் பார்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அவர்களோடு இருக்கிறார்; ராஜாவின் வெற்றியின் கெம்பீரம் அவர்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறது.
There is no idol in Jacob; neither is there a false image to be seen in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, and the resound of royal victory is in him.
22 ௨௨ தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்தார்; காண்டாமிருகத்திற்கு இணையான பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு.
God has led him away from Egypt; his strength is like that of the rhinoceros.
23 ௨௩ யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமான மந்திரவாதம் இல்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமான குறிசொல்லுதலும் இல்லை; தேவன் என்னென்ன செய்தார் என்று கொஞ்சக்காலத்திலே யாக்கோபையும் இஸ்ரவேலையும் குறித்துச் சொல்லப்படும்.
There is no soothsaying in Jacob, nor any divination in Israel. In their times, it shall be told to Jacob and to Israel what God has wrought.
24 ௨௪ அந்த மக்கள் கொடிய சிங்கம்போல எழும்பும், இளம்சிங்கம்போல நிமிர்ந்து நிற்கும்; அது தான் பிடித்த இரையைச் சாப்பிட்டு, வெட்டுண்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்கும்வரை படுத்துக்கொள்வதில்லை” என்றான்.
Behold, the people will rise up like a lioness, and lie down like a lion. But they will not lie down until they devour the prey and drink the blood of the slain.”
25 ௨௫ அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “நீர் அவர்களைச் சபிக்கவும் வேண்டாம், அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்” என்றான்.
And Balak said to Balaam, “Neither curse him, nor bless him.”
26 ௨௬ அதற்குப் பிலேயாம் பாலாகைப் பார்த்து: “யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறபடியெல்லாம் செய்வேன் என்று உம்மோடு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா” என்றான்.
And he said, “Have I not told you that whatever God would command of me, I would do?”
27 ௨௭ அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: “வாரும், வேறொரு இடத்திற்கு உம்மை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகிறேன்; நீர் அங்கே இருந்தாவது எனக்காக அவர்களைச் சபிக்கிறது தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாக இருக்கும்” என்று சொல்லி,
And Balak said to him: “Come and I will lead you to another place. If perhaps it may please God, then you may curse them from there.”
And when he had led him on to the top of mount Peor, which looks out toward the wilderness,
29 ௨௯ அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: “இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு பலிபீடங்களைக் கட்டி, இங்கே எனக்கு ஏழு காளைகளையும் ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் ஆயத்தம்செய்யும்” என்றான்.
Balaam said to him, “Build seven altars here for me, and prepare as many calves, and the same number of rams.”
30 ௩0 பிலேயாம் சொன்னபடி பாலாக் செய்து, ஒவ்வொரு பீடத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு காளையையும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும் பலியிட்டான்.
Balak did as Balaam had said, and he placed on each altar a calf and a ram.
