நெகேமியா 11
1 ௧ மக்களின் அதிகாரிகள் எருசலேமிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்; மற்ற மக்கள், தங்களுக்குள்ளே பத்துப்பேர்களில் ஒருவனை எருசலேம் என்னும் பரிசுத்த நகரத்திலும் ஒன்பதுபேரை மற்றப் பட்டணங்களிலும் குடியிருக்கச்செய்ய சீட்டுகளைப் போட்டார்கள்.
The [Israeli] leaders [and their families] settled in the sacred city, Jerusalem. The other people (cast lots/threw marked stones) to determine which family from each ten families would live in Jerusalem. The other people continued to live in the other towns and cities [in Judea].
2 ௨ ஆனாலும் எருசலேமிலே குடியிருக்க மனப்பூர்வமாகச் சம்மதித்த மனிதர்களையெல்லாம் மக்கள் வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.
Those people [asked God to] bless those who volunteered to [be among the 10% who] moved to Jerusalem.
3 ௩ யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களில் இஸ்ரவேலர்களும், ஆசாரியர்களும், லேவியர்களும், ஆலயப் பணியாளர்களும், சாலொமோனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களின் சந்ததிகளும், அவரவர் தங்கள் பட்டணங்களிலுள்ள தங்கள் சொந்த இடத்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்; எருசலேமிலே குடியிருந்த நாடுகளின் தலைவர்கள் யாரென்றால்:
[Some of] the priests, [some of] the [other] descendants of Levi, [some of] the temple workers, and the descendants of King Solomon’s servants, and many of the other people lived on their own property in the towns [where their ancestors had lived].
4 ௪ எருசலேமிலே யூதா சந்ததியர்களில் சிலரும், பென்யமீன் சந்ததியர்களில் சிலரும் குடியிருந்தார்கள்; யூதா மக்களிலே பேரேசின் சந்ததியில் ஒருவனான மகலாலெயேலின் மகனாகிய செபதியாவின் மகன் அமரியாவுக்குப் பிறந்த சகரியாவுக்கு மகனான உசியாவின் மகன் அத்தாயாவும்,
But some people from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin [decided to] live in Jerusalem. One of them from the tribe of Judah was Athaiah. He was the son of Uzziah, who was the son of Zechariah, who was the son of Amariah, who was the son of Shephatiah, who was the son of Mahalalel, who was a descendant of [Judah’s son] Perez.
5 ௫ சீலோனின் மகன் சகரியாவுக்கு மகனாகிய யோயாரிபுக்கு மகனான அதாயாவுக்குப் பிறந்த அசாயாவின் மகன் கொல்லோசே பெற்ற பாருக்கின் மகன் மாசெயாவுமே.
[Another one from the tribe of Judah was] Maaseiah, [who was] the son of Baruch, [who was] the son of Colhozeh, [who was] the son of Hazaiah, [who was] the son of Adaiah, [who was] the son of Joiarib, [who was] the son of Zechariah, [who was] a descendant of [Judah’s son] Shelah.
There were 468 men who were descendants of Perez who were valiant/courageous soldiers who lived in Jerusalem.
7 ௭ பென்யமீன் சந்ததியர்களில் யாரென்றால், சல்லு என்பவன்; இவன் மெசுல்லாமுக்கும், இவன் யோவேதுக்கும், இவன் பெதாயாவுக்கும், இவன் கொலாயாவுக்கும், இவன் மாசெயாவுக்கும், இவன் ஈத்தியேலுக்கும், இவன் எஷாயாவுக்கும் மகனானவன்.
[One of the men] of the tribe of Benjamin who decided to live in Jerusalem was Sallu, the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.
Two of Sallu’s relatives, Gabbai and Sallai, also settled in Jerusalem. Altogether, 928 people from the tribe of Benjamin settled in Jerusalem
9 ௯ அவர்கள்மேல் கண்காணியான சிக்ரியின் மகன் யோவேலும், பட்டணத்தின்மேல் இரண்டாவது கண்காணியான அசெனூவாவின் மகன் யூதாவுமே.
Their leader was Joel, son of Zichri. The official who was second in command in Jerusalem was Hassenuah.
The priests [who settled in Jerusalem] were Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jakin,
11 ௧௧ அகிதூபின் மகன் மெராயோத்திற்குப் பிறந்த சாதோக்கின் மகன் மெசுல்லாம் பெற்ற இல்க்கியாவின் மகன் செராயா என்னும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் மேற்பார்வையாளனும்,
Seraiah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub [who had previously been] the Supreme Priest.
12 ௧௨ ஆலயத்திலே வேலைசெய்கிற அவர்கள் சகோதரர்களாகிய எண்ணூற்று இருபத்திரண்டுபேரும், மல்கியாவின் மகன் பஸ்கூருக்கு மகனான சகரியாவின் மகன் அம்சிக்குப் பிறந்த பெல்லியாவின் மகன் எரோகாமுக்குப் பிறந்த அதாயாவும்,
Altogether, 822 members of that clan worked in the temple. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Adaiah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah.
13 ௧௩ குடும்பத்தலைவர்களாகிய அவனுடைய சகோதரர்கள் இருநூற்று நாற்பத்திரண்டுபேர்களும், இம்மேரின் மகன் மெசில்லேமோத்தின் மகனாகிய அகசாய்க்குப் பிறந்த அசரெயேலின் மகன் அமாசாயும்,
Altogether, there were 242 members of that clan who were leaders of the clan [who settled in Jerusalem]. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer.
14 ௧௪ அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர்களாகிய பலசாலிகள் நூற்று இருபத்தெட்டுபேருமே; இவர்கள்மேல் அகெதோலிமின் மகன் சப்தியேல் கண்காணியாக இருந்தான்.
There were 128 members of that clan who were valiant soldiers [who settled in Jerusalem]. Their leader was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim.
Another descendant of Levi who settled in Jerusalem was Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni.
16 ௧௬ தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வெளிவேலையை விசாரிக்கிற லேவியர்களின் தலைவர்களிலே சப்பேதாயியும், யோசபாத்தும்,
Two others were Shabbethai and Jozabad, who were prominent men who supervised the work outside the temple.
17 ௧௭ ஆசாபின் மகன் சப்தியின் மகனாகிய மீகாவின் மகன் மத்தனியா ஜெபத்தில் ஸ்தோத்திரப்பாட்டைத் துவக்குகிற தலைவனும் அவனுடைய சகோதரர்களில் இரண்டாவதான பக்பூக்கியா என்னும் ஒருவனும், எதுத்தூனின் மகன் காலாவின் மகனாகிய சம்முவாவின் மகன் அப்தாவுமே.
Another one was Mattaniah, the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph. Mattaniah directed the temple choir when they sang the prayers to thank [God]. His assistant was Bakbukiah. Another one was Abda, the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
Altogether, there were 284 descendants of Levi who settled in Jerusalem.
19 ௧௯ வாசல் காவலாளர்கள் அக்கூபும், தல்மோனும், வாசல்களில் காவல்காக்கிற அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர்களும் நூற்று எழுபத்திரண்டுபேர்.
The men who guarded the temple gates were Akkub and Talmon and 172 of their relatives who settled in Jerusalem.
The other Israeli people including priests and [other] descendants of Levi lived on their own property in other towns and cities in Judea.
21 ௨௧ ஆலய பணியாளர்கள் ஓபேலிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள்மேல் சீகாவும் கிஸ்பாவும் பொறுப்பாளர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
But the temple workers lived on Ophel [Hill in Jerusalem]. They were supervised by Ziha and Gishpa.
22 ௨௨ எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற லேவியர்களின் தலைமை அதிகாரி மீகாவின் மகன் மத்தனியாவின் மகனாகிய அஷபியாவுக்குப் பிறந்த பானியின் மகன் ஊசி என்பவன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஊழியத்திற்கு நிற்கிற பாடகர்களாகிய ஆசாபின் மகன்களில் ஒருவன்.
The man who supervised the [other] descendants of Levi who [helped the priests and] lived in Jerusalem was Uzzi, the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica. Uzzi belonged to the clan of Asaph, the clan that was in charge of the music in the temple.
The king [of Persia] had commanded that the clans should decide what each clan should do to lead the music in the temple each day.
24 ௨௪ யூதாவின் மகனாகிய சேராக்கின் சந்ததியர்களில் மெசெசாபெயேலின் மகன் பெத்தகியா மக்களின் காரியங்களுக்கெல்லாம் ராஜாவின் முன்பு நின்றான்.
Pethahiah, the son of Meshezabel, [who was] from the clan of Zerah and a descendant of Judah, was the ambassador [of the Israelis] to the king of Persia.
25 ௨௫ தங்கள் நாட்டுப்புறங்களான கிராமங்களில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்குள்ளே யூதாவின் மக்களில் சிலர் கீரியாத் அர்பாவிலும் அதின் கிராமங்களிலும், தீபோனிலும் அதின் கிராமங்களிலும், எகாப்செயேலிலும் அதின் கிராமங்களிலும்,
Some of the people [who did not settle in Jerusalem] lived in villages close to their farms. Some from the tribe of Judah lived in villages near Kiriath-Arba, Dibon, and Jekabzeel [cities].
Some lived in Jeshua [city], in Moladah [city], in Beth-Pelet [city],
in Hazar-Shual [city], and in Beersheba [city] and the villages near it.
Others lived in Ziklag [city], in Meconah [city] and the villages near it,
in En-Rimmon [city], in Zorah [city], in Jarmuth [city],
30 ௩0 சானோவாகிலும், அதுல்லாமிலும் அவைகளின் கிராமங்களிலும், லாகீசிலும் அதின் நாட்டுப்புறங்களிலும், அசெக்காவிலும் அதின் கிராமங்களிலும், பெயெர்செபா துவங்கி இன்னோமின் பள்ளத்தாக்குவரை குடியேறினார்கள்.
in Zanoah [city], in Adullam [city], and in the villages near those cities. Some lived in Lachish [city] and in the nearby villages, and some lived in Azekah [town] and the villages near it. All of those people lived in Judea, in the area between Beersheba [in the south] and Hinnom Valley [in the north, at the edge of Jerusalem].
31 ௩௧ கேபாவின் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த பென்யமீன் மக்கள், மிக்மாஸ், ஆயா, பெத்தேல் ஊர்களிலும் அதின் கிராமங்களிலும்,
The people of the tribe of Benjamin lived in Geba [city], Micmash [city], Aija [city which is also known as Ai], Bethel [city] and in nearby villages,
in Anathoth [city], in Nob [city], in Ananiah [town],
in Hazor [city], in Ramah [city], in Gittaim [city],
in Hadid [city], in Zeboim [town], in Neballat [town],
in Lod [town], in Ono [town], and in Craftsmen’s Valley.
Some of the groups of the descendants of Levi who had lived in Judea were sent to live with [the people of the tribe of] Benjamin.
